QUINLAN, HENRY

Gone but forever in our Hearts

It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Henry John Quinlan announce his passing on the 7th day of January 2024, in his 70th year.

Left to live in the love and fond memories of the wonderful life of Henry are: His loving wife of 49 years – Leona Quinlan; His sons – Sheldon, Shannon (Minnie) and Shelby (Melanie); Grandchildren – Johan (Keely), Katie (Nick), Jenya, Tayvin, Cambrie, Angel, Corbin Henry, and Trinity; Great Grand Children – Sunshine, Braxton, and Braelyn; Sisters/Sisters-in-Law and Brothers/ Brothers-in-law: Norman (Neelie), Roy, Sus (Boldin), Jose, Rita, Rebecca (Herm) and Netta; his uncle: Henry Barrett; His woods partner Wilson Tatchell, and a wide circle of other family members and friends.

Henry was Predeceased by his Mother, Blanche Quinlan and Father, John Quinlan, Mother-in-law Lennora Hughes, Father-in-law James Hughes,  Brothers: Arthur and Joseph, Sister, Eliza and Brothers and sisters-in-law.

A Visitation and Family service will be held at the St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Savage Cove at 7pm on Wednesday January 10th, followed by the Celebration of Life Service at 11am on Thursday January 11th with Rev. Canon Vernon Short Officiating.

The family would to extend a special thank you to the nurses at The Strait of Belle Isle Health Center in Flower’s Cove, the nurses and staff at the palliative care unit room 210 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, a special thank you to Bonnie and Helen at the Chemo Lab, as well as all the people who called, texted and brought food to our room and who came to spend time with us. Your thoughtfulness will always be appreciated.


KELLOWAY, HENRY

June 7, 1934—August 21, 2023

On June 7, 1934 Henry was born to Garfield and Dinah Kelloway, he was the 4th of 5 children.

Henry enjoyed the outdoors from an early age. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with whoever would go along. He also liked picking berries with his sister-in-law, Jackie.

Henry moved to Main Brook at the young age of 8. At the age of 31 he met the love of his life, Gladys Roberts. Together they had 4 kids. When the oldest granddaughter was born, they fell in love with her and took her as their second daughter.

On August 21, 2023, God decided it was time for Henry to take his heavenly home. Forever and always in our hearts, until we meet again.

He leaves to cherish memories his Wife: Gladys Kelloway; Children: David (Tammy) Kelloway, Yvonne Kelloway, Ernest (Angela) Kelloway, Andy Kelloway & Pansy Kelloway; 2 Children away from Home: David & Gloria Gibbons; Grandkids: Dwayne (Patricia), Dillon, Carson, Georgina (Dwayne), Ryan; Great-grandkids: Monica, Annabelle, Aurora; Sister-in-law: Joy Kelloway; nieces and nephews, as well as the Roberts family and many more extended family and friends.

Henry is predeceased by his Parents: Garfield and Dinah Kelloway; Brothers: Alison and Hubert Kelloway; Sisters: Dora Burt, and Linda Tucker.

Visitation to take place from the Pentecostal Church in Main Brook beginning the evening of Wednesday, August 23, 2023 and will continue on Thursday, August 24, 2023. The funeral will take place on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Skinner officiating. Interment to follow.

STEVENS, WILLIAM HENRY

August 24, 1945 - September 6, 2022

William Henry was born in Shoal Cove East to Gracie and Porter Stevens on August 24, 1945. William Henry was a fisherman most of his life. William Hen and his mother went to the Caines’ home in Forrester’s point for a few nights and that's where he met the love of his life, Sadie Taylor. In 1967 they bought a home and moved to Shoal Cove East where they raised their two daughters.

Left to mourn with loving memories are his Wife, Sadie; Daughters, Patsy (Dennis), Marion (Absalom); Grandson, Troy (Virginia).

He is predeceased by his Parents, Gracie and Porter Stevens as well as his Grandson, Sylvester William.

The family would like to extend their thanks to all those who have helped in any way.

Visitation to take place from St. Thomas Anglican Church in Sandy Cove. The family service will be held on Monday, September 11, 2022 at 8:00 pm. The funeral will take place the following day at 2:00 pm with Rev. Canon Short officiating, interment to follow in Savage Cove Cemetery.

ROSE, HENRY THOMAS

July 4, 1953 – December 9, 2019

Passed away December 9, 2019 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony surrounded by loving family at the age of 66 years. Henry grew up in St. Carols where he went to school and played until he moved to St. Anthony as a teen. It was there, fishing with his father that he met the love of his life, Verna in Harbour Deep. In 1973 they were wed and blessed with two children. Shortly after the birth of his second child, he began working at the St. Anthony Airport where he stayed for 40 plus years. Through his work at the airport, he came to know and help many people across the province and abroad. He made a lot of friends, and was a friendly and familiar face to those travelling. In his spare time, he loved fishing, hunting, and loved being in his shed, woodworking. He was a talented handyman and carpenter, he frequently did renovations for his children and made lots of patio furniture and other items. His other passion was his grandchildren. He loved to see them flourish in their talents, whether it be playing guitar and singing, or playing hockey. Henry was a talkative and friendly man, he like to torment and was guaranteed to go visit his two children, Corey and Treena every night as well as send both a daily text message. He is forever loved and mourned by, his wife of 46 years, Verna; Son, Corey (Charmaine); Daughter, Treena (Trent); Mother, Margaret; Brother, Wallace (Edith); 3 Grandchildren, Dilan, Alisha, and Caden; Nieces, Teena (Larr), Nikki (Denise); Nephew, Robin (Marcella) and a large circle of family and friends. Henry was predeceased by his father, Isaac; Grandparents, Ernest and Rita Hill, and Thomas and Elizabeth Rose as well as his Aunts and Uncles. Visitation to take place at Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral will take place from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Deacon Arthur Kinsella officiating. CHAMBERS, HENRY SR.

July 17, 1935 – December 22, 2018
Passed away December 22, 2018 at the age of 83 years. Henry Chambers Sr. is remembered with love by his family; Barbara Chambers, wife of 57 years; Children, Gorvin (Debbie), Pam (Barry), Judy (Monty), Darlene (Earl) and Henry (Tanya); Grandchildren, Ryan and Mitch, Cameron, Chanelle, Megan, Abby, Noelle, Ryder and Linden; Great grand children, Ethan, Kashton and Taylor. Henry is predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Jane Chambers as well as his Brothers and Sisters. Visitation was held from St. Boniface’s Anglican Church in Bear Cove from where the funeral was held on December 27, 2018 with Rev. Omar officiating. Interment followed. ROSE, HENRY ERIC

It is with tremendous sadness that we, the family of Henry Eric Rose, announce his sudden and tragic passing on April 13th, 2016. Henry was born to Norman and Elizabeth (Betty) Rose on November 20th, 1958. He married Belinda (Genge) and they had two children together, Monica (Tony) and Owen (Trudy). He also leaves to mourn his three grandchildren, Ty, Macon, and Sophie; 4 brothers, 4 sisters and their spouses; Nieces; Nephews, and a large circle of extended family and friends. “Hen” was pre-deceased by parents Norman and Betty Rose. Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony on April 15th, 2016. The funeral took place on Monday, April 18th, 2016 from the Flower Cove United Church with Rev. WILLIAMS, GEORGE HENRY

IIt is with great sadness that the family of George Henry Williams, born Dec. 4, 1920 in Eddies Cove East announce his passing on Feb. 10, 2013 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony in his 92nd year.  Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his daughters, Yvonne, Nunavut, Wavey, Shirley (Brian), son Gorvin, grandsons, Jeremy Bolger and Brandon Williams, Fort St. John, BC; brother Walter (Hazel)  and sister, Elizabeth (Mclean), Eddies Cove East, brothers-in-law, John Parrill, St. Anthony, Darius Parrill, Labrador City and sister-in-law, Margaret Manuel, St. Anthony,  as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.  He was predeceased by his wife, Eliza (Parrill), parents, Henry Albert and Laura (Coates), brothers Philip, Timothy, Benjamin, and Anson; sisters, Eliza (Applin) and Joanna.  Visitation took place at St. Andrews Church in Lower Cove.  Funeral services were held on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating.  Internment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Eddies Cove East.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard funeral director.

MITCHELMORE, GEORGE HENRY

Passed away into peaceful rest at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony in his 88th year, Mr. George Henry Mitchelmore of Green Island Cove, NL. Left to mourn but thankful for the memories are his son Calvin (Wavey); daughters Gladys (John), Mary Rachel (Herbert), Enid (Mike), Joy (Dennis), and Gail (Sidney); granddaughters Kianna (Special granddaughter), Michelle, Kerry, Gina, and Katie; grandsons George Henry Jr., Sheldon, Johnny, and Rocky, as well as great-grandchildren Kristen, Sky, Rylee, Slayde, Kent, Addison, Aaron, Harlee, and Jimmy Mclean (Special boy); his brother Garfield (Alma); sisters Gladys (George), and Miriam (late Ronald), sister-in-law Rita (Edgar), brothers-in-law late Roland (Doreen), Chesly (Edna), Kalvin (Lillian), and Abraham (Millie). George was predeceased by his loving wife Myrtle, his mother Mary Ann and father Albert, as well as his mother and father-in-law Rachel and William Dredge, his brother Steward and his nephew David. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Green Island Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19, with Rev. Marlene Harvey and Lay Person Maxine Hughes officiating. Burial followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Green Island Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
