It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Rendell Toope announce his passing on April
22, 2025 at the age of 73 years. Rendell was a loving and devoted husband, father, father-in-law and
brother.
He travelled to Port au Choix for 50 years to work at the fish plant to provide the best life he could for
his family. After his retirement he devoted his time to his family and the entire community of Pond Cove
being the Jack of all trades doing everything and anything that needed to be done. He was an avid
outdoorsman who loved hunting, fly fishing, biking, skidooing, berry picking and cutting wood.
Some of his happiest days were spent on the Genevieve River with a tight line and bent rod.
Left with fond and loving memories is his Wife of 52 years Peggy Toope, Son Torin Toope, Daughter
Tanya Gibbons and Son-in-Law Jade Gibbons. Sisters; Cecilia Wells & Virginia Chambers (Baxter).
Brothers; Ronald Toope (Phyllis), Stanley Toope (Kay), Gary Toope (Linda), Alfred Toope (Linda), Clyde Toope (Elizabeth), Sister-in-Laws Ivy Toope, Edna Dredge (Chesley), Marie Williams, Hannah Dredge,
Jane Williams (Barry) and a large circle of family and friends.
Predeceased by; Parents William & Evelyn Toope, Brother Graydon Toope, Parent- in-laws George & Ida
Williams, Brother-in-Laws Morgan Wells, Maxwell Williams & Samuel Dredge, Nieces Meryll Wells and
Isabel Dredge.

The family would like to thank the Strait of Belle Isle staff for all they did at such a difficult time.
Family service will be held at Church of the Advent in Plum Point Friday April 25, 2025 at 8pm with a
Celebration of Life on Saturday April 26, 2025 at 2pm.
