PITTMAN, PRIMUS PATRICK

PRIMUS PATRICK PITTMAN, age 91 years, of Bird Cove, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on September 9, 2022. Primus was born to James and Theresa Pittman on September 20, 1930. He married the love of his life Irene Gould On August 13, 1955. Together the happy couple live their entire life in their hometown of Bird Cove where they raised their family of four daughters and five sons.

Primus was a very hard worker all his life. He was a well respected carpenter, fisherman and woodsman and done anything necessary to provide a good life for his wife and children, who were his pride and joy. It was evident how much he loved his family in the way he spoke their names and the stories he would tell.

He will be greatly missed by his children; Desmond (Tammy), Dennis (Janet), Sharon (David), Primus (Annette), Nellie (Wally), Theresa(Prim), Lilly (Angus) and Thomas (Ciara); his grandchildren and great grandchildren Murray, Kimberly, Brock, Wesley, Ashley, Brandon, Jeremy, Felicia, Danan, Garfield, Lytora, Colton, Braden, Brianna, Cody, Jada, Jorja, Taylor, Jackson, Emily, Katie and Hailey.

He is predeceased by his wife Irene, son Martin, grandsons Anson and Josh and great grandson Jay , his parents James and Theresa and all of his siblings (as Primus was the last living member of his family).

The family would like to send special thanks to some special people. First to his grandson Murray who cared for his grandfather for many years. Murray, you did an awesome job and we are all so grateful for what you did. We knew that he was never alone and was happy to have you with him. He loved you so much. To Lilly and Angus who welcomed him into your home when he was unable to stay in his, that meant so much to all of us, thank you so much. His home care workers Theresa and Jordan, you two did an awesome job and made sure that his every need was met. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Visitation to take place from Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church in Bird Cove, beginning on Monday, September 12, 2022. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, September 14th 2022 at 2:00 PM with Father Rossi officiating. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Annie Pittman. She passed away peacefully on July 14th, 2021 within the presence of her family at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital. Left to mourn is Children Gwen (Guy), Lydia, Wavie, Derrick (Beverly), Darlene (Pleman). Grandchildren Shand, Gina, Gavin, Kayla, Cory, Megan, Kelly, Neil, Latisha and Great Grand Children Alexis, Izaiah, Madison, Danika, Riley, Jarrett, Piper, Everett, Felicity, Halia. She is predeceased by her Mother Lucinda and Father Rueben Hedderson along with all her brothers and sisters. Public visitation will be held at Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home Saturday, July 17th, 2021 from 2-4 pm and Sunday, July 18, 2021, from 10 am-12 pm. It is with great sadness that we, the family of William James (Jim) Pittman of Plum Point, announce his passing on the morning of April 26, 2021 at Rufus Guinchard Memorial Hospital at the age of 72 years.  He leaves to mourn his wife Jane (nee young); children: Michael (Tina) and Betty (Todd); stepchildren: Gary (Rupa) and Rick (Roxanne); grandchildren: Alexis, Dillon, Emily, Caitlin, Evan, Hailey and Vanessa; siblings: Michael John (Madelon), Theresa (Bud), Mary (John Joe), Primus (Christine), Ronald (Gloria), Sheila (Hughie), Melvin (Mary), Maurice (Wanda), Eileen (Matthias), Christine and Lorraine (Lawrence).  As well he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents Christopher and Bridget Pittman and brother-in -law Royal Gibbons. Viewing at the Church of The Advent, Plum Point. His family would like to thank the staff of Rufus Guinchard Hospital for their care and compassion.  The funeral (COVID restrictions in place) will be held on Thursday, April 29th, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Passed away on December 18th, 2019 at the age of 62 years. He leaves to mourn his Brother, Wayne (Vina); Sister, Joan (Glenn); Sister-in-law, Elsie; Dearest Friend, Clara; Daughters, Deanna (Jeff), Christy-Lynn (Kenneth); Grandchildren, Alexander, Andrew, Matilda, Moria; Niece, Nikita; Nephews, Shannon, Tyson, Blair; Special Aunt and Uncle, Lillian and Hayward as well as a circle of extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Glossen and Dulcie Pittman; Brother Lloyd; as well as his Niece, Danika. A funeral service was held in December from the Cooks Harbour Anglican Church followed by cremation. The inurnment took place on Monday, July 27, 2020 at 11:00 am with Rev. April 22, 1931 - January 19, 2020

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on January 19, 2020 at the age of 88 years. Mary Jane will always be remembered by her sons; Derek (Lily), Kevin (Judy); Grandchildren, Gurvin (Caroline Ann), Edmund (Vicki), Rochelle (Morley), Gregory (Tiffany); Great-Grandchildren, Brady, Ally, Madison, Akira, Harlow, Nathan, Jagger. Mary Jane was predeceased by her Husband, Gordon; Parents John and Mary Margaret Pittman; Siblings, John Pittman, Deborah Toope, Maude Chambers; Brothers and Sisters in Law, Oliver Topper, James Chambers, John Crane, Mary Ann Pittman, Ruth Pittman; and special friend Annie Gillingham. Visitation was held from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from where the funeral was held on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jennifer Renouf officiating. PITTMAN, RUTH

Passed away July 24th, 2018 at the age of 84 years. She leaves to mourn her Husband, George Pittman, and Sisters Eliza Genge, Dulcie Humber (and families) as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Ruth was predeceased by her parents George and Kitty Chambers, her brother Stedman Chambers, and her sister Jane. Visitation was held from the Anglican Church of the Advent in Plum Point from where her funeral was held on July 28th 2018 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jennifer Renouf officiating and Rev. PITTMAN, LLOYD

Passed away on February 8th, 2018 at the Health Science Centre in St. John’s NL at the age of 62 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife and best friend Elsie; his ray of sunshine Mackenzie Short; Brothers Wayne (Vina), Dean (Clara); Sister Joan (Glen); best friends Dorothy and Gerald Short; his nieces and nephews (his loved for children was evident in his pride for his nieces and nephews) as well as other extended family and friends. He will be loved and missed by many. Lloyd was predeceased by his parents Glossen and Dulcie Pitman, and his parents in Law, Jacob and Gertrude Campbell. Visitation was held from St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Cooks Harbour from where the funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 13th, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Katie officiating. passed away peacefully at Curtis Memorial hospital in St. Anthony on May 11, 2017, a few weeks shy of her 78th birthday. She was born on May 30th, 1939 and lived in Bird Cove, NL. She leaves to mourn her beloved husband Primus Pittman, of 61 years, her children Tom (Ciara), Lily (Angus), Nellie (Wally), Theresa (Prim), Prim (Annette), Dennis (Janet), Sharon (David), & Desmond (Tammy), sister Mary (Victor), grandchildren Murray, Kimberley (Shannon), Jeremy (Shelley), Danan, Wesley, Felicia (Dylan), Ashley (Josh), Brandon, Lytora, Colten, Brayden, Garfield, Brock, & Brianna, great grandchildren Cody, Jada, Jorja, Taylor, & Jackson. She was predeceased by her mother Mary Elizabeth Gould, father Thomas Gould, son Martin, grandsons Anson & Josh, great grandson Jay, brothers Maxwell, Pius, Edmund, Tom, Simon, & sister Annie. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children Marion (Tom), Randy (Daisy), Dan (Patsy), Guy (Julie), and Gaye, his grandchildren, greatgrandchildren as well as a circle of friends and relatives. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy (Colbourne), Parents Lenora and Ambrose, as well as his sister Bertha. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Passed away peacefully at St. Claire’s Mercy Hospital in St. Johns on October 19, 2016 at the age of 90 years. She leaves to mourn her children: Michael John (Madelyn), Theresa (Bud), William James (Jane), Mary (John Joe), Primus (Christine), Ronald (Gloria), Shelia (Hughie), Melvin (Mary), Maurice (Wanda), Eileen (Matthias), Christine (Royal), Lorraine (Lawrence); Brother Edmund (Irene); In-Laws Geraldine (Late William Lawless “Bill”). Marie Pittman (Late Joseph Pittman), Bertha Pittman (Late Michael John Pittman), Irene Pittman, Primus Pittman, Melina Gould (Late Pius Gould), Maxwell Gould (Late Theresa Gould) as well as a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and Friends. She was predeceased by her parents Maurice Lawless (Benji) and Amelia Elizabeth Hynes as well as the families of her brothers and sisters-in-law.
