Born in Roddickton, March 31st 1940 Leah was the youngest of six children. Leah loved her hometown and all the people in it. While working at the local medicine clinic, Leah met a charming young man by the name of Ronald Lidstone, who was being treated for an injury he received while working for his Father’s logging company in camp 4. At the moment their eyes met Leah knew it was love with no time they were married and next came five beautiful children, who she loved with every ounce of her being. Leah and Ronald raised their children in Roddickton and together they owned a gas station and automobile repair garage. Leah was a very devoted member of the Pentecostal Church serving as a member of the women’s missionary council and teaching Sunday school. Leah was a kind and gentle soul, she was loved by everyone who met her, she was the type of person that fond the good in everyone. Leah passed away on June 5th, 2017 and will truly be missed by many. Although she is gone her legacy lives on through the positive impact she has had on so many lives. Mrs. Leah Lidstone of Roddickton was in her 77th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons and daughters Terry Lidstone(Judy Lidstone), Rick Lidstone(Johann Lidstone), Lisa Blagdon(Barry Blagdon), Dean Lidstone (Michelle Lidstone), Sandra Randell (Dean Randell), Grandchildren Kariss Lidstone-Short(Charles Short), Ricky Lidstone(Joanne Lidstone- Rose), Sharmaine Tilley (Bob Tilley), Benjamin White (Angel Turpin), Michael Lidstone, Hope Randell (Jordan Barton), Great Grandchildren Karlee- Rae, Kenzie – Mae, Heather, Desiree, Alex, Julianna as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her Husband Ronald Lidstone, Parents Loretta Simms and William Simms, Siblings Francis Simms and Melvin Simms. Visitation was held at the Calvary Pentecostal Temple in Roddickton from which the funeral service took place on Friday June 9th, 2017 at 2:00pm with Pastors Benjamin Brown and George Coles Officiating. Interment followed in the church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Ebukwe funeral director.
