POOLE, TRUMAN

Truman was born in Murry’s Harbour to iris and Paul Poole. he went to school in Fox Harbour, no known as St. Lewis. he left school and went fishing with his father for a few years until he wen to work with Fishery Products Ltd. collecting cod and salmon in the surrounding outports. he spent 20 years with Loran C which was Stationed in St. Lewis. when this shut down Truman retired. in 2014 Truman began his battle with cancer, he always kept a positive attitude through it all. Truman passed away at the St. Anthony Hospital surround by the love of his Family. He will be missed beyond words by all who knew him well. rest in peace and may the angels guide you home.

Truman was predeceased by his parent iris and Paul Poole, his brother
Edgar, in-laws <Mildred and Clarence Curl Sr., aunts and uncles. he leaves to mourn his wife Shirley of 45 years, son Rene (Brenda), his pride and joy Grandsons Noah and Cody, Brothers Ron (Alma), Terry (Florence), Sister Joyce (Tom) and a large circle of family and friends.

the Poole family would like to take this opportunity to express their deep appreciation and gratitude of the love and support shown to them all during Truman’s illness. they wish to say thank you to all who brought food, donated and who dug the grave during this difficult time. each of you have helped ease our pain, your kindness and love will never be forgotten.

The funeral service took Place on Jan. 1st. 2:00pm at St. Marks Anglican Church in St. Lewis with Rev. Gail, Burial followed the service in the Anglican community Cemetery. Funeral Arangments were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillaters Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

RUSSELL, VERA BLANCHE


Vera Blanche Russell (nee Burden) daughter of Charles and Clarice Burden was born August 27th, 1945 in George’s Cove, NL. She was one of nine children. On April 13, 1966 she married the love of her life James. Together they raised five children, Perry, Marilyn, Darrell, Denise, and James. On February 24, 2016, Vera passed peacefully away at Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony after a courageous battle with cancer. She spent her life caring and loving her family that surrounded her. She leaves to mourn with heavy hearts and loving memories her children Perry (Paula), Marilyn (Junior), Darrell, Denise (Derek), and James (Collette); her grandchildren Shannon, Stephanie, James, and Amy; great-grandchildren Hunter and Hannah; her seven sisters, one brother, and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. She also leaves her special friend Jeff Pardy. Vera was predeceased by her Husband James Russell, Grandson David Burden, Sister Ina Turnbull, and Parents Charles and Clarice Burden. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony, continuing at St. Andrew the Apostle Anglican Church in Port Hope Simpson. The Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 am on Monday, February 29th, 2016 with Arch Deacon Gerald E. Peddle officiating.
