Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on January 19, 2020 at the age of 88 years. Mary Jane will always be remembered by her sons; Derek (Lily), Kevin (Judy); Grandchildren, Gurvin (Caroline Ann), Edmund (Vicki), Rochelle (Morley), Gregory (Tiffany); Great-Grandchildren, Brady, Ally, Madison, Akira, Harlow, Nathan, Jagger. Mary Jane was predeceased by her Husband, Gordon; Parents John and Mary Margaret Pittman; Siblings, John Pittman, Deborah Toope, Maude Chambers; Brothers and Sisters in Law, Oliver Topper, James Chambers, John Crane, Mary Ann Pittman, Ruth Pittman; and special friend Annie Gillingham. Visitation was held from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from where the funeral was held on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jennifer Renouf officiating. WILLIAMS, CLYDE SR.

April 10, 1935 – December 9, 2019

Passed away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on December 9, 2019 at the age of 84 years. Clyde will be forever loved and remembered by his Wife, Zebina; Children, Clyde Jr. (Tina), Cindy (Boyd); Grandchildren, Nico (Abbygail), Nicholas, Katlyn; Brother in law, Robert (Bob) Gale; Sister in law, Marie Gale; Niece, Melissa (Phil); Nephew, Justin (Jenalyn); Close Friends, Jamie Dredge and Clyde Ryan, as well as his extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Williams; Sister, Joyce; Parents in Law, Elias and Lucy Gale; Sister in Law, Evelyn; Uncle, Adam Williams. Visitation to take place from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove beginning Wednesday afternoon and continuing until the funeral on December 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. MAJOR, WINNIFRED MANETTE (nee Noseworthy)

February 20, 1950 – November 4, 2019

Passed away November 4, 2019 at the age of 69 years. Visitation to be held from St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Lower Cove beginning the afternoon for Friday, November 8, 2019 and will continue on Saturday and Sunday with the family service taking place Sunday evening. COOMBS, JESSIE ISABELLA

1933 -2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Jessie Coombs, of Plum Point on May 28, 2019 at the age of 86 years.

Jessie was born in Birchy Head, NL. but lived her life in Plum Point close to her children. Jessie was first and foremost a dedicated mother to her children. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. Jessie especially loved being a Nan to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

We were truly blessed with a kind and loving mother and we will mourn greatly our loss.

Jessie was predeceased by her husband; Henry Coombs who was the love of her life. Her parents; Silas and Maria Hedge, parents in-law; George and Nellie Coombs, siblings; Miriam (Gilbert Parrill), Hilda Minette Hedge, Wilfred Stanley Hedge, Roland Wesley Hedge and Harvey Clyde Hedge, siblings in-law; Eliza Maynard, Jessie Noseworthy, Evelyn (Leslie Harvey), Rendall Coombs, Gordon Coombs and Ike Gibbons.

Left to celebrate her life and cherish fond and loving memories of her are her children; Rachel (Colin Williams), Ivy (John Gibbons), Stanley (Julia), Karen (Leslie Doyle), Gordon and Evelyn, siblings in-law; Caroline Hedge, Judy Hedge, George Coombs (Virginia), Rachel Gibbons, Wallace Maynard, Donald Noseworthy and Muriel Coombs, grandchildren; Colin, Joe, Cristy, Abe, Jessica, Gavin, Rodney and Daniel, great grandchildren; Brett, Grant, Caleb, Colton, Jenna and Mia. Many nieces & nephews and a wide circle of other family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 11:00am on Friday May 31, at the Anglican Church of the Advent in Plum Point, and there will be a Family Service at 7:00 pm. The funeral is scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, June 1, followed by the Burial at Pond Cove Cemetery.

GIBBONS, JUDY

1925-2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Judy Gibbons of Plum Point on May 23rd at Caribou Memorial Veterans' Pavilion in St. John's.

Judy will be sadly missed by her children John (Ivy), Rose (Frank) Boyle, Dwight (Beulah), Genevieve (Rod Caines), Abraham (former daughter-in-law Sherry Hounsell), her grandchildren SheriLee (Borje) Chambers, Janessa (Stephen) Kerr, Sarah Caines (Kevin O'Shea), Jean (Scott) McGrath, David Boyle, Andrew Caines, John Gibbons, and great-grandchildren Michael, Jonathan and Cora.  Her kindness, ever-ready smile and quirky humour will be remembered by all.  

Judy was the daughter of Frank and Sarah (Hoddinott) Samson.  She was predeceased by her loving husband Abraham (Abe) in 2003, and siblings Chesley (Kirsty), Garland (Caroline), Alma, Roseannah (George) Chambers, Daisy (Allan) Saunders, Joyce  Coombs, Grace (Stewart) Taylor, Julian (Bride).  She is survived by her sister Bertha (Gerald) Payne of Corner Brook, sisters-in-law Jane (James) Toope, Gladys (Roy) Gibbons, Virginia (James) Gibbons and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Family always came first.  Her devotion, moral compass and strength of character were exemplary.  Even through the toughest challenges, her kind, nurturing manner and her deep love of family persisted.  Judy had an enormous appreciation of life and all living things.  An avid gardener and an enthusiastic berry-picker, she enjoyed every moment in nature.

Heartfelt thanks are extended to Judy's caregivers at Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion.  We are so grateful for the love and exceptional care that was provided.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 28, at the Anglican Church of the Advent in Plum Point, and there will be a Family Service at 7:00 pm.  The funeral is scheduled for 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 29, followed by the burial at Pond Cove Cemetery.
