Passed away into peace on the 18th of January, 2025, in her 95th year at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, Mrs. Dulcie Fillier

Left to Cherish Memories are her Children: Roger Fillier (Wendy), Scott Fillier (Donna), Neil Fillier (Bernice), Celia Fillier, Wanda Daye, Patti Fillier (Danny Henzbee), Brenda Brenton (Willis), Her Sisters Delilah Brown and Lillian Ricketts, as well as many grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and a large circle of Friends and Relatives.

Dulcie was predeceased by her husband Bennett Fillier, Her Parents Stanley and Alice Randell, Hers Sons Kevin Fillier and Boyce Fillier, Her Daughter Loretta Fillier, Grandson Tyson Brenton, brother Ronald Randell, Sister Dorothy Randell and brothers in law Steward Randell, Ralph Ricketts, and Samuel Bown.

Visitation will take place at the Salvation Army Church in Englee Beginning Thursday, January 23rd, 2025 and continuing through to the funeral service at 2pm on Saturday, January 25th with Major Janes officiating. Burial will follow the service at the new Salvation Army Cemetery following the service.

FILLIER, EMILY ETHEL CAROLYN

April 30, 1925 - June 26, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ethel Fillier announce her passing on June 25th 2024 at "White Bay Health Centre" in Roddickton, NL. in her 99th year, with her family by her side.

Born to Matthew and Emmeline (nee Reid) Denney on April 30th 1925. Ethel, raised in Englee, NL, Loved and adored her children.

Left to mourn with found and loving memories are her children; six of her seven sons: Alex, Edgar (Betty), Jack (Patricia), Eugene, Morgan (Teena) and Kirby; Two daughters: Florence (Flo) (Richard) and Doris (Bob). She will be missed by her Step-brother Leonard Fillier from Ontario and especially missed by her 23 Grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and many Great - Great - Grandchildren.

Predeceased By: Matthew and Emmeline (nee Reid) Denney (Parents), Clancy (Husband), son Junior (Don) and grandson Tyson Fillier.

Ethel was predeceased by her husband Clancy; son: Junior (Don); grandson: Tyson Fillier; and her parents: Matthew and Emmeline (nee Reid) Denney.

Visitation to take place from the Pentecostal Church in Englee, NL beginning on Friday, June 28, 2024 for 7-9 pm. The funeral will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Andrews officiating. Interment to follow.

FILLIER, NELSON MALCOLM CECIL

February 5, 1947 - December 21, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nelson Malcom Cecil Fillier, age 76, at home with his loving wife by his side on December 21, 2023.

He was the son of the late Gilbert and Bessie (Hopkins) Fillier.

He leaves behind is loving wife of 46 years Elvie Fillier. Daughters, Darlene Hynes (Jim), Darlene Fillier- Aubin (George), Delores Fillier (Corey), and Danette Fillier-Aubin (Adam). Sons Chris Hefford (Heidi) and Dustin Fillier (Rachel). 14 Grandchildren, and 5 Great Grandchildren. His brother Melvin Fillier (Sylvia), and Sister Patricia Brophy (Wayne). Along with a large circle of relatives and friends.

He is predeceased by his parents, brother Murdock Fillier, and twin brothers Gilbert and Theoophilus Fillier.

Nelson was very involved in the community. He was a large part of the Lions club. He worked for KFC in St. Johns for a few years before he returned home to Englee , where he worked at the Englee fish plant for over 30 years. Doing various jobs such as Quality Control and Manager. He was known in years since retirement to drive around the town, and going to Michelle’s for his coffee. Where he talked with everyone who entered and always tormented the girls who worked there and the same at Breen’s.

Cremation has taken place. With the funeral service to take place at Salvation Army Church, Englee, with the date to be determined.

FILLIER, RAYMOND

August 17 1943 - July 02 2023

Raymond passed July 2, 2023 at the age of 79 years.

Raymond was a fisherman for over 30 years and retired at the age of 55. Raymond enjoyed moose hunting in the fall with his sons Dwayne and Paul as well as his boat and spent many hours cod fishing with family and friends. In the summer he worked at the fish plant cutting fish and after that he worked in the fish store washing fish. He also enjoyed walking around town and chatting to everyone he came in contact with.

He chatted about the Lord whenever he had the opportunity and he was well known to many people around Newfoundland. Raymond was a devout Christian; serving the Lord and beating the Salvation Army drum for 65 years. He lived his life for the Lord. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 57 years: Nita Fillier; Children: Ernest Fillier, Lisa Fillier (Lloyd Compton), Paul Fillier, Dwayne (Joanne) Fillier; Brothers: Garfield Fillier, Rene Fillier, Howard Fillier, Randy Gillard; Sister: Ivy Burton, Maxine Dempsey, Georgina Jenkins: Drucella Pollard; Grandchildren: Jessica Fillier, Sarah Fillier, Zoey Fillier, Destiny Fillier, Rory Fillier; Greatgrandchildren: Emma Payne, Jamie Payne, Paige Payne; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

Raymond is predeceased by his Parents; Wilfred and Rosie Fillier; Grandparents: Leonard and Virtue Fillier; Sister: Juanita Fillier.

Visitation to take place from the Salvation Army Church in Englee beginning on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 and will continue daily until the funeral service on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 2:00 pm from the Salvation Army Church in Englee with Major Wilfred and Wavey Simms officiating. Interment to follow.

December 15, 1925 - October 4, 2020

It is with great sadness, that the family of the late Kenneth (Ken) Harold Fillier announce his passing at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, at the age of 94 years, with family at his side. Ken was born in Hampden, NL and moved to Englee at an early age. It was there that he met and married the love of his life, Melina Cassell of Great Harbour Deep on Aug. 9, 1945. Ken worked in many areas through his life, from working in the woods, deckhand on freighters, and cooking on the Grenfell Mission boat, Marvel. In the last 18 years before retirement, he worked in the fish plant in Englee. Ken and Melina raised 6 children and 2 grandchildren in a loving home. Leaving to mourn their loss while treasuring their memories, children: Golda Ropson - St. Anthony; Woodrow (Linda) Fillier – Cold Lake, AB; Miriam (Seymour) Compton– Englee, NL; Barry (Jenny) Fillier – Lacombe, AB; Drucella (Rick) Pollard – Burlington, ON; Kim (Charles) Fillier - Kitchener, ON and Hayley (Daniel) Fillier-Klepp - Cambridge, ON. Ken will also be sadly missed by brother, Jerry Fillier (Dryden, ON); sisters: Alma Pilgrim (Main Brook), Violet Wilcox (Roddickton) and Ella Andrews (La Scie), 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, many relatives and friends. He is predeceased by: parents Walter and Matilda Fillier; wife, Melina; daughter, Barbara; grandson, Devin; son-in-law, Lebert; brother, Ralph Fillier; and sisters: Bessie Compton and Sylvia Hewlett. FILLIER, RHODA

September 11, 1930 – August 27, 2019

Rhoda passed away on Aug. 27, 2019 at John M. Gray Nursing home in St. Anthony. Rhoda Fillier was born in Williamsport, NL on Sept. 11, 1930 to Harry & Faith (Canning) Randell. On April. 13. 1949 she married Hubert Fillier of Englee. To complete the family, six children were born: Hardy, Leamond, Harold, Joan, Edwin & Varrick. They later accepted a foster son (Howard Fillier) into their home for five years. Rhoda worked hard to provide and care for her family. For several years, she was employed at the local fish plant. She also loved the great outdoors and along with her friend Eileen, spent much time rabbit catching, trouting and berry picking. In later years, she enjoyed travelling out of town to visit her relatives. She also loved her evening drives around the area with her friend, Fannie. Left to mourn her passing are her daughter: Joan Randell (George), sons: Edwin (Lily) and Varrick (Pansy); foster son: Howard (Evelyn); daughters-in-law: Patsy & Mary, stepsister: Edith Newman (John), grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other relatives & friends. She is predeceased by husband: Hubert, sons: Hardy, Leamond & Harold. Visitation was held from the Salvation Army Church in Englee with Majors Wilfred and Wavey Simms officiating on August 30, 2019 at 11:00 am. Interment followed. FILLIER, HARDY NELSON

September 10, 1949 – May 9, 2019

Hardy Fillier was born in Englee September 10, 1949 to Rhoda and Hubert Fillier. On June 20, 1974 he married Patsy Hiscosk. Hardy worked on the plant for any years as well as in P.E.I. as a farmer for many years. He loved his grandchildren and they enjoyed him, he also loved going to men’s fellowship camp as well as going to church with his grandchildren. On Thursday, May 9, 2019 Hardy passed away surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his Wife Patsy; Children, Petrina (Darren), Preston (Bonnie), Prenell (Rachel), Philip (Ashley); grandchildren, Zackery, Selena, Carnell, Hope, Mackenzie, Makayla; Mother, Rhoda Fillier; Sister, Joan (George); Brothers, Edwin (Lily), Varrick (Pansy); Brothers-in-law, Terry (Bonnie), Larry (Mo), Wade (Susie), Eugene (Donna), Bert (Kimberly); Mother-in-law, Rowena Hopkins; best friend David Simms as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Hardy was predeceased by his father Hubert; brothers Lemond, Harold; sister-in-law Ivy; father in law Percy Hopkins as well as his 2 grandchildren. Visitation was held from the Salvation Army Church in Englee from where the funeral took place on May 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Majors Wilfred and Wavey Simms officiating. Interment followed. FILLIER, REGINALD HARVEY

Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre on the 12th day of February 2018. Mr. Reginald H. Fillier of Englee was in his 88th year. He leaves to mourn with cherished and loving memories; Sons David (Mary); Jim (Monica); Garry (Karen); Daughters Shirley (Bill) Humby; Hilda (Shane) Pilgrim; Evelyn (Della Demoss); Thirteen Grandchildren, Nine Great Grandchildren; Brother Alvin (Shirley) Fillier - as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased his Wife Lucy; parents Aubrey and Patience Fillier; sisters Ida (Bill) Ivany, Gladys (Joe) Pollicara, Daisy (John) Newman; Brothers Sandy (Alexander) Fillier (Dulcie), Clancy Fillier (Ethel). Visitation took place from the Salvation Army Church in Englee on the 14th day of February followed through until the funeral service which took place at 2:00 pm on the 16th day of February 2018. FILLIER, WILBURN EDWARD

Passed away at White Bay Regional Health Centre on March 29, 2016. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Joan; Son Dexter; Brothers Rifford (Gaye) Fillier, Edwin (Minnie) Fillier (Twin), and Eric (Jessie) Fillier; and Sister Mae (Thomas) Waskiewicz. The funeral took place on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Apostolic Faith Church in Roddickton with Rev. Christopher Hewlett officiating. Interment followed in the Roddickton Apostolic Faith Cemetery. Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre on the 25th day of October 2014. Mrs. Lucy Fillier of Englee was in her 86th year. She leaves to mourn with cherished and loving memories Husband Reginald, Sons Davis(Mary); Jim(Monica); Garry(Karen); Daughters Shirley(Bill) Humby; Hilda(Shane) Pilgrim; Evelyn(Della Demoss); Thirteen Grandchildren, Seven Great Grandchildren, one brother Daniel Randell, Three Sisters Hettie Henpshall, Chatfield Randell, Nellie Humby as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Mark and Lucretia Randell, Three brothers Charlie, Maxwell, and Jesse, Two Sisters Celia Randell and Marjorie Randell. Visitation was held at The Salvation Army Church on the 26th day of October followed through until the funeral service which took place at 2:00pm on the 28th day of October 2014 with Lts.
