CARNELL, JAMES “JIM” CAMPBELL

October 27, 1964 - July 13, 2019

James Campbell Carnell “Jim” was born on October 27, 1964 in Flower’s Cove to Sidney and Millie Carnell. In 1999, he married the love of his life, Ena Etheridge from Bradore Bay, along with their beautiful daughter Andrea. Later, they were blessed with an adorable son Jamie. Jim passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 13, at the age of 54. Jim will always be remembered by his wife, Ena; Daughter, Andrea (Scott), Granddaughters, Reese and Grace; Son, Jamie; Mom, Millie; Sister, Maggie (Harold); Sisters-in-law, Latrice, Charlotte (Ross), Dorothy; Brother-in-law, Elliott, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Jim was predeceased by his father, Sidney; Brother, Charlie; In-laws, Pernell and Therese; Great Nephews, Blake and Miles. Visitation was held from the Flowers Cove United Church from where the funeral was held on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, Funeral Director.

CARNELL, CHARLES

Charles was born to Sidney and Imelda Carnell of Flower’s Cove on August 31, 1957.  He was raised in Flower’s Cove and on June 18, 1977 he married Leatrice Jones.  They had two children.  Charles was a hardworking man who was a business man for many years in Flowers Cove.  In 1997 he and his family moved to Alberta where he worked as a salesman.  He retired and returned home to Flowers Cove in 2012 after suffering a stroke. In December of 2016 he was diagnosed with cancer.  He died at home on May 28th.   He was a well loved and respected man.  He is survived by his wife Leatrice, his son Roy (Vania), his daughter Roxanne (Dwayne), two granddaughters Jasmine and Selina.  He is also survived by his mother Imelda, Sister Maggie (Harold), Brother Jim (Ena), His Dog Marly, as well as nieces, nephews and friends.  He was predeceased by his father Sidney.  He will be sadly missed. After cremation, visitation took place from the United Church in Flowers Cove, from where the funeral service was held on June 1st, 2017 with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton.

CARNELL, DOLA FREELOVE

 Dola Freelove Carnell  
July 17, 1931 - January 11, 2016
Age: 84

Biography: Dola was born on July 17, 1931 to James and Ann Maria Allingham.  She had 6 brothers and 1 sister.  She married Stephen Carnell Sr.  They had 10 children and raised a grandson; Sibyl, Edna, Nancy, Gloria, Mary, Barbara, Carol, Stephen, Rona, Dawn and Gary (grandson).  As a young woman she worked in the hospitals in St. Anthony and Flower's Cove.  Later, for about 20 years she worked in the Fish Plant in Flower's Cove.  She often recalled the many great years she worked there with the "women in the plant" and told fondly remembered stories.  Dola was happiest when surrounded by her children and their families.  Cooking meals and baking for her husband, children and grandchildren were things that she took great pride in and she was at her happiest times when doing things for her family.  Berry picking, knitting, word searches, and weekly bingo were some of her favourite activities.  Dola travelled to Alberta, North West Territories and Labrador to see where her children had settled down.  In recent years she loved going home to her favourite place, Flower's Cove for summer and Christmas vacations.  Her puppy, Brandi provided her with 13 years of companionship and joy. Dola passed peacefully away on January 11, 2016 surrounded by a large number of family and friends, of whose lives she touched dearly.  Special thank you to Dr. Woollam and all the Staff at Labrador Health Centre.  There are no words to express how much Mom thought of you all.  The kindness and care you all provided to our Mom over the years is appreciated beyond measure - The Carnell family. Dola leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children - Sibyl Chubbs (late Sterling) of Goose Bay, NL; Gloria White (Ernie) of Goose Bay, NL; Mary Reeves (Tony) of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta; Barbara Carnell of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Carol Carnell (Doug Frise) of Hay River, NWT; Stephen Carnell Jr (Bernedette Lake) of Flower's Cove, NL; Rona Fradsham (Sean) of Yellowknife, NWT; Dawn Carnell of Goose Bay, NL, Gary Carnell (Katy) of Fawcett, Alberta, and her puppy Brandi. Grandchildren- Michelle Chubbs, Christopher Chubbs (Amy), Kent White, Kara White (Paul), Sherri Sullivan, Sherryl White (Lee Parker),  Sandi O'Brien (Eric), Stephen Carnell (Jenni), Stacey Carnell, William Carnell, JJ Carnell, David Lake, Sheila Lake, Jade Carnell (Anna), and Haylee Fradsham; Great Grandchildren Michael Chubbs, Tristan White, Kyleigh Lane, Damien, Dakota and Dillon Sullivan, Taylor White and Drake White, Rylee and Talon O'Brien, Holly Carnell, Chayse and Simi Carnell, Megan Parsons, Daniel, Adam and Jessica Lake, and Bentley Carnell; and Son-in-law: Henry White (Shirley). She was predeceased by her husband Stephen Carnell Sr., twin daughters Edna and Nancy Carnell, Parents: James and Ann Maria Allingham, brothers- Anthony, David, Hayward, Aenus, Gordon and George Allingham, sister- Rebecca Gaulton (Allingham). Visitation is being held at the United Church in Flowers Cove from where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 16, 2016. Internment to follow in the United Church Cemetery in Flowers Cove with Rev. McGonigle officiating  where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Stephen Carnell Sr. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Kerry M.
