BARTLETT, WAYNE DAVID

January 5, 1955 - January 7, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne share the news of his passing after a very long and courageous battle with cancer. Wayne left us in the morning of January 7, 2022. He died peacefully at his home in Quirpon with Cheryl, Andy and Phoebe by his side. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his partner Cheryl McCarron; Son Andy (Phoebe); Grandsons AJ, Henry, and Ben; Brother, Bill Bartlett (Mabel) and family; Leta Bartlett (mother of Andy and Angelina) and Nellie Bishop and family. Wayne was predeceased by his mother Violet, father Joshua, daughter Angelina (Adrian Allen) and grandson Findley.

Wayne will be missed by so many, especially closest and lifelong friends Alec Roberts and Karl Sparkes. In addition he leaves to mourn his lifelong neighbours and friends of Quirpon who shared since childhood his love of Quirpon, music, camaraderie, and all sorts of mischief.

He leaves behind legions of relatives and good friends that are too numerous to list here. Deserving special mention are the women and friends who thoughtfully prepared and delivered his favourite Newfie foods to him during his illness. Your love for him is obvious and returned many times over by Wayne.

Private Visitation was held from the Central United Church, Quirpon Branch on Monday, January 10, 2022 after which cremation followed. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm from the Central untied Church, Quirpon Branch with Majors Henry and Beatrice Bingle officiating. Inurnment to follow in the Central United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, Funeral Director.

BARTLETT, CHARLOTTE EFFIE (Nee Clark)

May 2, 1936 - May 26, 2019

Born May 2nd, 1936 to Douglas and Ester Ann Clark of Bolsters Rock, Labrador. At a very early age age was place in the orphanage in Cartwright where she went to work at the hospital at the age of 13 as a cook and cleaner. At the age of 19 she came to Newfoundland with Fannie and Annie Hedderson and this is where she met the love of her life, Douglass Bartlett. On May 17, 1956 they married and had 8 children. Her life was filled with loving and providing for her family. She was one of the best at fulfilling this job. She was the kind of woman that welcomes everyone and did what she could for them. You could never leave her home without a cup of tea. She leaves to mourn with a lifetime of memories, her Sons, Donald (Wavey), David (Kettie), Frank (Doris), Richard; Daughters, Barbara (Ross), Lilly (Dennis), Judy (Randolph), Wanda (Steve); Grandchildren, Damien, Jordan, Caitlin, Ladine (Corey), Andrew, Shannon (Michelle), Cheryl (Ryan), Jason (Shawna), Catrina (Sheldon), Stacey (Ian), Paul, Stephanie, Vanessa (Jonathan); Great-grandchildren, Kailey, Kera, Jayden, Jake, Amy, Grady, Leo, Luke, Sharaya, Lacey, Roman as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Charlotte was predeceased by her Husband, Douglas Bartlett and her sisters, Blanch Roberts and Phoebe Pardy. Visitation to be held from the All Saints Anglican Church in Dark Tickle beginning the afternoon of Tuesday, May 28, 2019 and will continue until the funeral on Thursday, May 30th, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rec. Deacon Arthur Kinsella officiating. Interment to follow.

BARTLETT, BRIDGET (KEARNEY)

Passed peacefully away at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on September 30th, 2016. Bride was born in Croque; the youngest child of Francis and Catherine Kearney. In September 1951 she married Leo Bartlett of Fortune Arm and together they had twelve children, nineteen grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren. Bride spent most of her life as a devoted wife and mother. In 1972 the relocated to Griquet. Over the years Bride was a second mom to her children’s friends where her door was always open. She was employed at Fisher’s Products and Work until she retired. In 1991 she joined the St. Lunaire-Griquet Firettes and continued to support until 2015. Following her retirement she was instrumental in the opening of St. Monica’s Catholic Church and Cemetery in St. Lunaire-Griquet. In 2013 Bride moved into Shirley’s Haven in St. Anthony where she continued to be an active member of her new community. She was predeceased by her Husband Leo; Children Catherine, Ray, Kate, and Ben. Visitation was held at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in St. Lunaire-Griquet from where the funeral service was held on October 4. 2016 with Father Vitus Echedo Chidi officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

BARTLETT, LEONARD MARK "COACH"

Passed Peacefully away at the John M. Gray Center on the 12th of March 2015, Mr. Leonard Mark "Coach" Bartlett of St. Lunaire Griquet in his 67th year. Left to mourn are his brother Gerard (Bernice), sisters Linda, Agnes, Francis, Nephews Christopher, Clay, Murray, Jason, Nieces Joanne, Nadine. as well as a large circle of Family and Friends, Visitation was held at the funeral home in st. Anthony, followed by the funeral service,which was held at 2:00pm on the 14th day of March 2015 at  the Roman Catholic Church in St. Lunaire- Griquet  with Fr. Vitus Echedo  officiating. Internment followed in the Church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fiullatre's Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director.
