MITCHELMORE, THOMAS GUY
It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas Guy Mitchelmore announce his passing on Friday August 20th, 2021 at the age of 75 years.
Tom was born on October 10th, 1945 in St Anthony to Guy and Maisie Mitchelmore. He met and married Peggy Bennett of Main Brook on August 29th,1969. Together they raised 3 daughters Rhonda, Debbie, and Sheri. Tom served in the Canadian military with the Black Watch Regiment in Cyprus from 1965-1968 a part of the United Nations peace keeping forces. After serving his country he returned to Newfoundland to work as a professional fisherman. In the late 1980's he worked as hunting and fishing guide with Tuckamore Lodge until he retired in 2011.
Tom was a generous and kind man. A good Samaritan, who would never see a stranger or someone in need stranded. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with a great love for the outdoors. He will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched. He will be mourned by his wife Peggy, daughters Rhonda (Mike), Debbie (Mark) and Sheri (Derek) and his six grandchildren; Jessica, Michael, Joshua, Matthew, Coale and Madison. In addition, he will be mourned by his siblings Ross (Linda), Sheila, George (Kim) and Brenda (Frank) and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and close friends. Tom is predeceased by his parents Guy and Maisie Mitchelmore. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.
The family would like to thank to the staff of the John M Gray Long Term Care Facility for the personal care, compassion and professionalism they provided to Tom during his long illness. In leu of flowers please send donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
MITCHELMORE, CURTIS LANCELOT
September 15, 1933 – March 29, 2020
Curtis passed away peacefully on March 29, 2020, in his home surrounded by his children, grandchildren and fur baby. Curtis was born in 1933 in Green Island Cove, Newfoundland to Austin and Eliza Mitchelmore. Curtis married Naomi Mugford in 1954; together, they had 3 children and they created a loving home for their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and fur baby. He will be remembered for his work ethic and sense of humor. He leaves behind his loving Wife Naomi; children Delilah (Harold) Rose, Rebecca ( late Harvey) Mitchelmore, Wade Sr (Sarah) Mitchelmore; grandchildren Kim (Trent), Ken (Rosie), Della (Marc), Wade Jr (Marissa); great-grandchildren Trisha, Tia, Kendra, AJ, Kira, Karley, Weston and William; his best friend his fur baby, Charlee; sisters Cora Mitchelmore, Nellie (Norman) Parrill and Eliza ( late John) Parrill; and sister-in-law Marina (Albert) Applin . He will be missed by them all. The family extends its deepest gratitude to his personal care workers Carmel, Jenette, Janet and Cindy who provided him with the best care and compassion in his last few years. We also thank the nurses, doctors and paramedics at the Strait of Belle Isle Healthcare center who helped care for and provide us with guidance during his final weeks so he was able to stay at home with his family and friends. As per Curtis’ request cremation has been entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony. Due to the Public Health Advisory of COVID-19 no visitation or ceremony will take place at this time. A visitation and celebration of his life will take place at a later date.

It is with great sadness the family of Mr. Truman Mitchelmore of St. Anthony announce his passing on Wednesday January 22, 2014 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital with his devoted and loving wife and family by his side. Left to mourn with fond and special memories are his wife Ruby, his Son Kirby (Tracey) Mitchelmore, Daughter Kim (Kirby) Short, Four grandchildren Jordan, Brandon, Danielle and Blake. As well as his Brothers and Sisters ; Merona Gibbons, Shirley Simms (Sterling), Sybil Piercey (Lloyd), Primus Mitchelmore, Baxter Mitchelmore (Melinda), Inga Coombs (Lester), Harvey Mitchelmore (Marilyn), Deano Mitchelmore and a large circle of family and friends. Truman lived to see the passing of his parents Leander and Minnie Mitchelmore, his brother Howard Mitchelmore(Mae), Brother in law David Gibbons, Parent in laws Ernst and Amelia Elliott, their lives he has touched. Visitation was held at The funeral home on West Street, the funeral followed on the 27th of January 2014 from the St. Mary’s Anglican church in St. Anthony at 2:00pm with Rev. Paul C. Passed away in to peace on the 7th day of September 2013 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony in her 98th Year, Mrs. Lavenia Mitchelmore of Sandy Cove. Thankful for a lifetime of love and memories are her son Byron (Emma), daughter Bernette (Robert), daughter in law Virtue, Grandchildren Sheila (Wallace), Donald (Myrtle), Rose (Paul), Maitland, Amanda (Claude), Colette (David), Winsor (Lisa), Shane (Jeannette), Shauna, Richard, and Heather. Great Grandchildren Sheldon (Marilyn), Philip (Terri), Aaron, Mitchel, Sean, Kelly, Kaitlyn, Brittany, Shayna, and Shelly, Great Great Grandchildren Sheldon (Kayla), Austin, Bryanna, Kyla, Montana, Austin. Lavenia was predeceased by her husband Norman, sons Maitland and Winsor, daughters Amanda and Rowena, parents Isaac and Leah, her sister Marie, and brothers Walter, Lawrence and Percy. Visitation was held at St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lower Cove, from which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on September the 9th with Rev. Marlene Harvey and Lay Person Joyce White officiating. Burial followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Green Island Cove. Funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M.
