It is with great sadness that the family of Claude Randell of Englee announce his passing at the Roddickton Health Centre on March 9, 2019 at the age of 69 years. Claude was born on April 12, 1949 in the small outport community of Williamsport, NL. In 1969, his family resettled to Englee, NL where he met and married Joyce, his wife of 48 years. Claude loved the great outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting, playing darts and watching hockey. With loving memories, Claude is remembered by: his wife Joyce; daughter, Kathy (Barry) Randell and son, Jamie (Stephanie); 2 Grandchildren, Chad Randell and Darla (Eric) Yao; 3 Great Grandchildren, Sienna; Ethan, and Jack. 2 brothers, Joshua (Pauline) and Roger; 5 sisters, Ruby (Wilson) Randell, Selma (Robert) Randell, Pansy (Reuben) Curtis, Pearl (Wayne) Fillier, and Rita (Frank) Pittman as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Claude was predeceased by his parents Hezekiah and Emma Randell; Brother, Ivan Randell and Parents in law, Stewart & Dulcie Brown. Public viewing took place from the Englee United Church. The Celebration of life service was held at The Englee United Church on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Majors Frank and Rita Pittman officiating. Interment followed in the Englee United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.
RANDELL, FREDERICK CHARLES
February 24, 1922 – December 15, 2018
Frederick Charles Randell was born on February 24th, 1922 to Eli and Tryphena in Williamsport. He, along with this brother and three sisters were raised in Williamsport. On October 19th, 1944, Fred married Violet Randell, also of Williamsport, and together they raised three sons. They remained in Williamsport until they resettled to Englee in 1969. Fred and Violet were business people who ran their own business. Fred was also a boat builder and mail carrier. In 1999 Violet passed away and Fred continued on his own, until he took up residence in the John M. Gray Centre. On December 15th, Fred passed peacefully away. He is survived by his sons, Jesse (Gladys), Hedley (Shirley), and Ted (Emma). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from the Englee United Church from where the funeral took place on December 18th with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Interment followed.
