WHITE, WALTER SR.

August 20, 1947-November 22, 2023

It was with great sadness that the family of the late Walter White Sr. announced is peaceful passing at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on November 22, 2023, in his 76th year.

He leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 53 years Caroline. His Sons: Walter Jr (Jennifer) White, Marcus (Tonya) White and Daughter Nicole (Stephen) White; Granddaughters: Jemma (Chris) Gould, Jorden (Cole) White, Brittany (William) White and Stephanie Strickland; Grandsons: Brandon White (Shawna), Carter Applin and Jaxon Applin; Great-Great Grand Children: Lexie Hedderson, Clara Hedderson, Mia White, Jaxon Flynn, James White, Noah Gould, and Michael Strickland; Brothers: Twin Brother Thomas (Dulcie) White, Jacob White, Jim (Jessie) White, Marcus (Emelene) White; Sisters: Emily Whalen, Mariah Gould.

He is predeceased by: Parents: Emanuel and Virginia White, Parent-In-Laws: Frederick and Mathilda Williams; Brother: Raymond (Enid) Toope; Sister-In-Laws: Cinderella Toope, Pauline White and Brother-In-Laws: Wilson Toope, Nelson Whalen, and Carl Gould.

The family service will take place on Friday, November 24th, 2023, at 7:00 pm. The funeral will be held at St. Thomas’ Anglican Church in Sandy Cove on Saturday, November 25th, 2023, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Canon Vernon Short officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery in Savage Cove.

APPLIN, WALTER ROYAL

August 27th, 1955 - May 5th, 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of Walter Royal Applin announce his passing at his home in Shoal Cove West on Friday, May 5th at the age of 67 years.

Royal fished along side his brother Howard until 2004 when his sickness first took hold.

Royal leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his partner Mary Ann, daughter Amanda, Granddaughter Destiny (Riley), Great Grandson Leo, Brother Howard (Mildred), Sisters Ellen, Louisa (Lorenzo), Special nieces Bernice (Andy) & Nakita(Jonathan), nephews Walter (Matthew), Dennis (Cassie), Norman (Lisa), Shane(Lucy), Truman (Bernice), Nieces Sheilagh (Lloyd), Lisa (Jim), Christine, Celia (Ward), Ellen(Mike) & families, sister & brother in laws Casey, Connie, Marie, Nancy, Joanne, Kelly, Patsy, Elaine, Robin & Donald, special cousin & friend Isaac Coombs (Kim).

Royal was predeceased by his parents Mahala & Walter Applin, Mother & Father In Law Mary & Donald Buckle, Sister Marjorie (Nat) Gibbons, nephews Royal & Herman Gibbons.

Bernice would like to send a special thanks over the past year to Dennis Gibbons who has went above and beyond with taking Uncle Royal to all his appointments. Dennis was always ready to go when I couldn't. This meant more to both me and Uncle Royal than he'll ever realize. The bond between these two were more than just Uncle/Nephew. I cannot thank Dennis enoughfor everything he has done. Another cousin/friend, Isaac Coombs, was always there whenever Uncle Royal needed anything. He was always only a phone call away and was ready to do anything that he needed done.

The family would like to thank Beverly Ann Myers/Reid for being a quick response to our phone call on the night he passed. Thank you for making phone calls that needed to be made. Thank you to Tracy House, Dr. Irfan, Ced Caines, Zack Osmond and the Nursing Staff at RGHC, and the RCMP for the compassion that was shown to myself and the rest of the family.

Visitation to take place from St. Margaret‘s of Scotland Anglican Church in Reefs Harbour on Friday, May 12, 2023 with the family service taking place in the evening. The funeral will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Coates officiating.

FOWLER, WALTER HERBERT

July 12, 1933 - June 29, 2020

born at Great Brehat to Arthur and Caroline Fowler on July 12, 1933. Also born to that family - Mary-Jane, Rosie, Alma, Victor, William & Ross. Walter married Melita Hancock on May 20th. 1960. Bom to this union was Wayne, Judy, Linda, Dennis, Dean, Doreen, and David. He was a hard worker. He went to work in the woods at the early age of sixteen and continue working as a legger until he retired. All the while doing other jobs to help provide for his growing family. He was a good carpenter, he built his own home as well as other buildings and helped to build several long liners. He loved the outdoors, whether it was moose hunting, fishing, rabbit catching or planted his gardens. He also loved to discuss politics with anyone. Walter was not a church going man himself but always made sure that his family went to Church and Sunday school. He gave his life to the Lord in 2007. He was a very meek and mild man who didn't want to be a bother to anyone. After becoming a widower in 2007 he decided to move to Shirley's Haven in St. Anthony. Then in 2012 he suffered a stroke and was moved to the John Grey center where he remained until Monday evening. June 29, 2020 when he peacefully departed this life. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Melita; Parents Arthur & Caroline Fowler, Sisters Alma and Rosie and brother William. He leaves to cherish his memory, his Sons, Wayne (Shirley) Fowler, Dennis (Valerie) Fowler, Dean (Lisa) Fowler, David (Sheila) Fowler; Daughters, Judy (Boyce) Reid, Linda (Derrick) Reeves, Doreen Fowler; Brothers: Victor (Elaine) Fowler, Ross (Pauline) Fowler; Sister, Mary-Jane Hopkins. Private visitation took place from the Apostolic Church in Roddickton from where the funeral was held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2020 with Pastor Chris Hewlett officiating. WILLIAMS, WALTER

June 4th, 1931 - March 16th, 2020

Walter Williams of Eddies Cove East passed away tragically at the age of 88 years old . He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Hazel; Daughters Lillian (Perry) Williams, Beverly Dale (Roger) Veniot ; Granddaughter, Laura (Corey) McLean & Great Grandson Brody, as well as extended family & friends. He is predeceased by his daughters Laura Michelle & baby Williams , his parents Henry & Laura Williams & his brothers , sisters & in laws. Thanks to everyone who has helped the family in anyway through this very hard time! Visitation took place from St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral was held on March 22, 2020 with Rev. Deacon Vernon Short officiating. Interment followed. RUMBOLT, WALTER

Passed peacefully away at the John M Gray Center on the 3rd day of March 2014. Mr. Walter Rumbolt of Main Brook was in his 89th year.  He leaves to mourn with cherished and loving memories his wife Della, Sons Hayward(Darlene), Wade(Brenda), Gerard(Kay), Daughters Marilyn(Randy), Jackie(Fred),  Grandchildren Mandy, Sheldon, Jillian, Adam, Karisa, Jordan, Madison, Jessica, Great Grandchildren Jackson and Alexis, His Siblings Lillian Little, Mary Lunnen, Bill and Gord Smith,  as well as a large circle of family and friends. Cremation took place on the 4th day of March 2014. Visitation took place at the Anglican church in Main Brook followed by the memorial service at 2:00pm on the 6th day of March 2014 with Harold Harvey officiating.
