The Family of Wallace Cunard Sr. is saddened to announce his passing on June 30, 2020 at the age of 78 years and Rita Cunard’s passing on April 14,2022 at the age of 75 years.

They will forever be remembered by their sons Wally (Diane) and Dion (Nadine); Grandchildren Keegan (Ashlee) Courtney (Blayne) and Shinarah (Aaron); Great-grandchildren Denver, Ryder & Courtlynn. As well as their many brothers and sisters. They were predeceased by their son Jarvis Cunard.

Wallace’s siblings; Grant (Elsie), MaryAnn (Eric), Hepsey (Heber), Hubert, Matilda, Issac, Eli (Phyllis), Elizabeth (Donald), Eric (Ann), Terry (Jarka).

Rita’s siblings; Phyllis (Heber), Delima (Richard), Ross (Gaye), Myra (Gerald), Rhoda (Mike ,partner Roger), Albert (Ina), Minnie (George, partner Merrill) ,Dale (Wayne), Daniel (Jan)

A funeral service will take place at church of The Advent in Plum Point, Wednesday morning 11:00 am on April 20,2022 with Rev. Gosse officiating where they will both be laid to rest. CUNARD, JUDY (Nee Hoddinott)

November 28, 1924 - January 29, 2022

Passed peacefully away at the John M Grey Centre on Saturday, January 29, 2022 Judy Cunard (nee Hoddinott) of Brig Bay at the age of 97.

She leaves to mourn her sons; Rendell (Myrtle), Gervase (Edna); and her daughters, Vivian (Gerry) and Doreen; grandchildren, Ren Jr (the late Karen), Trent, Chat (Tina), Vaughan (Daisy), Nicole (Jason), Wendy (Rodney), Andrew (Megan), Susan (Fahim), Gorvin (Connie); Greatgrandchildren, Valene, Evan (Christine), Cayley, Saku, Matthew, Megan, Adam, Joshua, Avery, Ashton, Kyle, Luca, Nico, Ava, Ethan; Brothers, Pleman (Ollie), Harvey (Doris); Sisters, Loretta (the late Ben) and Dulcie (the late David); Sister-in-law, Georgina, as well as many other extended family and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband, Stephen; Siblings, Vivian (Gervase), Susie (Frank), Clyde (Amy), Ralph (Blanche), Marion (Isaac), Gordon; In-laws, Aggie (Eli), Hubert (Winnifred), George, Jake (Sarah Fanny); as well as Son-in-law Jun.

A special thank you to the staff of the John M. Grey Centre for their exceptional care and compassion during her stay there.

Private visitation to take place from Church of the Advent on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 2, 2022. The funeral service will be tentatively held on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 11:00 am with Rev. Gosse officiating. Interment to follow.

COOMBS, JOANNA ELIZABETH (JOANIE)

Sept. 21, 1941 - Jan. 11, 2022

Joanie passed away peacefully on January 11th 2022 at the Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital in St Anthony at the age of 80 years. Joanie was born in Plum Point and lived there all her life until she lost her home to a fire in 2019. She then moved to the Shirley's Haven personal Care Home in St Anthony.

Joanie will always be remembered by her family; her sisters Susan Chambers, Bertha Etheridge; her brothers Lawrence Coombs and Lorenzo (Mary) Coombs, and a large number of nieces and nephews and their families.

Joanie was predeceased by her parents Absalom and Florence (Bonnell) Coombs, her brother Harrison Coombs and her in-laws Clyde Chambers, Nellie Coombs, and Gordon Etheridge Sr.

A special thank you to the staff at the Shirley's Haven personal care home for their care while she lived there. It was deeply appreciated.

Joanie will be laid to rest at the cemetery in Pond Cove with her family in attendance. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M Fillatres Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton.

DREDGE, DAWN (SPENCE)

January 29, 1974 - November 2, 2021

Born on January 29, 1974 in Port Aux Choix, NL, Dawn grew up most of her childhood life in Port Aux Choix then moved to Black Duck Cove a little later in her teenage years. Dawn was blessed with 2 beautiful girls, Ashtin and Anita, who then gave her 2 beautiful grandkids, Kenny and Kenzie who she loved dearly. Dawn married Sammy Dredge on October 12, 2019. She was a beautiful soul, she’d give away her heart, but little did we know her beautiful heart would stop November 2, 2021. She is forever loved and missed by her Husband, Sammy; Daughters, Ashtin (Kenny), Anita (Darren); Grandchildren, Kenny and Kenzie; Mother Laura (Don); Mother-in-law Hannah; Sister-in-law, Sadie (Camille), Trudy (Samuel), Ida (Scott), Wanda (Gordon); Brothers-in-law, Dean (Faith), Maxwell (Betty), along with her nieces and nephews and a wide range of other family and friends. She is predeceased by her Father, Howard Coles; Brother, Kenneth Spence; and Grandparents, Donald and Evelyn Spence. Visitation to take place from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm from where the funeral will take place on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dorcas Baines, 88, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2021 at the Long-term Care Unit, Rufus Guinchard Health Centre. Dorcas was born in Shoal Cove West, NL to Lean and John (Jack) Coombs on September 29, 1932. She loved playing cards and she loved her family.
She leaves to Mourn, her Children; John, Hubert (Lucy), George (Darlene), Joy (Steve), Cyril (Theresa), Effie (Bax), Bob, Gay (Jeff); Son-in-law, Doff, Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren and her sisters, Effie and Dulcie.
Besides her parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters, she is predeceased by her husband Noah; Daughters, Yvonne and Jill as well as her sons; Pearce, Iran, and Noah.
Dorcas’ family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre for their exceptional care of our mom over the past 2 1/2 years. We would also like to thank her dear friends, Lillian Beaudion and Una Hynes and everyone who visited her at home and at RGHC.
Cremation has taken place, funeral service and inurnment will be held at French Cove Cemetery on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 2:00pm with Rev. Gosse officiating.

Passed away August 10, 2021 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital at the age of 85 years. Frank was an avid berry picker, there is nothing he loved more than to be on the marsh picking berries. His family was everything to him. In particular, his children and grandchildren were his life. He spent hours looking at pictures of his 10 month old Great Grandson, Lucas. He was also a life time Montreal Canadians fan.
He is forever loved and remembered by the love of his life, his Wife; Alfreda (Allingham) Cunard; Son. Blake (Linda) Cunard of Brig Bay.; Daughters, Virginia (Al) Arseneault of Fredericton, NB, Roxanne (Doug) Follett of Drayton Valley, Alberta; Chosen daughter, Laura (Robbie) Humber of Spruce Grove, Alberta; Sister in law, Marjorie (Mathias) Osborne, Brig Bay, NL; Brother in law, Pius (Linda) Allingham of Brig Bay, NL; Grandchildren, Hayley Cunard of St John’s, NL, Nathan Cunard of Brig Bay, NL, Michaela Cunard of Fredericton, NB, Astra Follett of Drayton Valley, Alberta, Parker and Easton Humber of Spruce Grove, Alberta; Great Grandson Lucas Vance of Fredericton, NB; Brother: Cecil (Lillian) Moores of Brig Bay, NL.; Nephew, Danny Pittman, who was very special to him, as well as many other nephews, nieces, and friends. He was loved by many.

It is with great sadness that that the family of the late James Coombs of Plum Point announce his passing at the John M. Gray Center on May 26, 2021 at the age of 86 years old. Jim was born April 16th, 1935 in Plum Point and lived there all of his life. In his early years he worked in the woods. When he was 32 years old, he went to school and became an Auto Body Technician. He ran his own business Coombs’ Auto Body Shop until his retirement. After retirement he spent many hours in his garden. He loved socializing with his many friends and family. He also loved being a pop to his three grandchildren, spending time with them and encouraging them in everything they did. His family would like to thank the staff of the John M. Gray Center for their care and compassion. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 58 years Lillian (Gibbons of Current Island), children Eliza (Roy), Ben (Anita), grandsons Sidney (Chelsea) and Alex (Taylor) and granddaughter Sarah; brothers: Gerald (Maisie) and Henry. In laws Edmund (Mary Ann) Gibbons, Edith (Isaac) Dredge, Annie Gibbons, and Gladys Gibbons. As well he leaves behind a wide circle of family and friends and especially Rodney, Evelyn, Minnie, and Heather who were always a big part of his family. He is predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Minnie (Hughes) Coombs, in laws Steven and Myrtle (Chambers) Gibbons, brother Joseph Coombs, in laws Myrtle Coombs, Valma Coombs, Martin Gibbons and James Gibbons. It is with great sadness that we, the family of William James (Jim) Pittman of Plum Point, announce his passing on the morning of April 26, 2021 at Rufus Guinchard Memorial Hospital at the age of 72 years.  He leaves to mourn his wife Jane (nee young); children: Michael (Tina) and Betty (Todd); stepchildren: Gary (Rupa) and Rick (Roxanne); grandchildren: Alexis, Dillon, Emily, Caitlin, Evan, Hailey and Vanessa; siblings: Michael John (Madelon), Theresa (Bud), Mary (John Joe), Primus (Christine), Ronald (Gloria), Sheila (Hughie), Melvin (Mary), Maurice (Wanda), Eileen (Matthias), Christine and Lorraine (Lawrence).  As well he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents Christopher and Bridget Pittman and brother-in -law Royal Gibbons. Viewing at the Church of The Advent, Plum Point.
