Raymond William Kearney.jpg

Ray was a dedicated family man. His home and family were always first and foremost in his heart. For Ray, no matter where he was, all roads led to home. His happiest moments were with “a full house full”. Most of his years were spent fishing with his father, uncles and brothers. His love of the ‘water’ remained with him until the day he died. He took great pleasure in sharing his ‘adventures’ with his children and grandchildren…”the bigger the lops the better and when the best sleeps were had.” Ray enjoyed a good laugh and had a mischievous side that left many not knowing what to expect. He looked forward to the daily ‘meeting’ down on the road. To many, he will always be remembered as…’a man of very few words’.

With sadden hearts, he leaves to mourn his wife of 51 years Elizabeth, his pride and joy son Raynold (Tegan), daughters Elaine, Sandra (Eddie) and Rhonda (Gerry); ‘pop’s boys’ Brandon (Danielle) and Gregory, cherished grandchildren Raymond, William, Rayanna, Kennedy, Liam and Charley; siblings Gerald, Wilbert, Anne, Joan and Linda; a large circle of nieces/nephews, good buddy Pad, extended family and friends. Ray was predeceased by his children Mary and John and his parents John and Mary Jane Kearney.

Funeral Mass was held from Our Lady Star Of The Sea at 11am on March 8th with Fr. George Officiating, burial followed in the Community Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M Fillatres Funeral home St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.
