Passed away on February 15th, 2018 at the age of 56 years. Morey was born March 30, 1961 in Griquet to Roland and Annie Hillier. He moved to St. Anthony when he was nine. Morey was a lover of sports, especially ice hockey and soft ball. He loved children and noticed each one he seen. He was an avid lover of anything outdoors: hunting, cutting wood, fishing, and snowmobiling. He spent his time working as an autobody mechanic and was known by everyone for his work ethic. He was known for his two wonderful daughters: Emily and Hannah. Morey was a storyteller and could light up a room with his stories of good times. His stories and memory will be remembered by everyone he knew. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children Emily and Hannah; Mother Annie Hillier; Sisters Gloria (Clem), Winnie (Rick), Vivian (Victor); Brothers Fred (Reeta), Tony (Margaret), Robbie (Karen); Nan Sadie, Joan, and Karla as well as a large circle of family and friends. Morey is predeceased by his Father Roland Hillier; Jehu Parsons, and Donna Parsons. Visitation was held from the Bethel Pentecostal Church in St. Anthony from where the funeral was held on Wednesday, February 21st, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Bessey officiating. LODER, GORDON STERLING
Born June 14th, 1953 at Curtis Memorial Hospital to Arthur and Olive Loder. He married Dorcas Hedderson on June 8th, 1973 and had two children, Trina and Tanya- and later, two grandchildren, Meagan and Jenna. Gord’s career in health care started in St Anthony with Grenfell Regional Health Services. In the early eighties, Gordon and his family moved to Summerside P.E.I. where he worked as Purchasing Manager with Prince County Hospital. In 2012, Gordon and Dorcas decided to move to Edmonton, AB to be closer to their kids and grandkids; where he worked as a Purchasing Agent with Alberta Health Services. After being diagnosed with cancer he decided to retire. In 2016, after battling cancer for 5 years, Gordon and Dorcas moved back to St. Anthony and then to Hay Cove. Gordon succumbed to his disease on October 28th, 2017 at 2:20 am. He leaves to mourn his Wife Dorcas; Daughters Trina (Paul) Loder, Tanya (Shawn) Arsenault; Granddaughters Meagan and Jenna; Brothers Al (Colleen), Don (Linda), Bob (Eileen); Sisters Ruby McConnell, Mitzie (Carl) Wethrell, Shirley (Carroll) Harper, Yvonne (Troy) Henson, Delphanie (Tom) Cunningham, Myrtle Larkin, Winnie (Daniel) Ellsworth, Sandra (Paul) Fraser, Linda (Garfield) Fillier, Mary Loder as well as a large circle of family and friends. Gordon is predeceased by his Parents Arthur and Olive Loder; Brother Pearce (Bud) Loder; Brothers-in-law Jerry McConnell, Thomas Larkin, Cyril Bessey; Nephew Tommy Cunningha,; Nieces Theresa and Donna Harper; and Parents-in-law Dorman and Blanche Hedderson. Visitation was held at the Bethel Pentecostal Church from where the funeral was held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Bessey officiating. Interment followed. RICHARDS, URSULA VIVIAN
Passed away on September 16, 2016 at the age of 99 years. Ursula was born on March 6, 1917 to Reuben and Elizabeth (Penney) Cull of Great Brehat. It was there that she grew up. On October 8, 1938 she married a widower, Harvey Richards of Little Brehat. Together they raised eight children, Joyce, Ralph, Madge, Celeste, Harvey, Vivian, Allan, and Mildred. She loved her children and grandchildren and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved to attend God’s house regularly and missed it very much when she lost her mobility. On February 20, 1963 she prepared for this day when she knelt at an altar and accepted Jesus into her heart. She has since fought a good fight and has now finished her course, kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for her a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give her. On September 16, 2016 she took up citizenship in heaven. She leaves to mourn her daughters Joyce (Howard), Madge (John), Vivian (Edward); sons Ralph (Pat), Harvey (Marjorie), Allan (Delphine); Sister Emily, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Harvey; daughters Celeste and Mildred; Mother Elizabeth; Father Reuben; Brothers Fremonder, Lester, Thomas, Harris, and Wesley; and sisters Winnie and Mabel. Visitation was held at Bethel Pentecostal Church in St. Anthony from where the funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 20th, 2016 with Pastor Jeff Bessey officiating. Interment followed.
