WILCOX, BEATRICE

December 15, 1924 - April 9, 2022

was born in Englee, NL on December 15th, 1924 to Reuben and Harriet Hopkins. She gave her heart to the Lord at a very a young age. She married William Wilcox of Englee on December 12, 1940. Together they had 6 girls' and 2 boys and adopted 1 girl. Beatrice was a very hard worker as a housewife and mother, and only worked outside the home for a very short time at the Englee fish plant. In 2007 she moved to Roddickton, NL with her husband where the lived with their daughter, Patsy. Her husband passed away on November 17, 2008 and she stayed with Patsy until she moved to the Roddickton House in 2016. She then moved to the John M Gray Center in St. Anthony for the last few months of her life where she passed peacefully away on April 9, 2022.
She leaves to mourn her Son, James (Gwen) Wilcox; Son-in-law, Paul Healey; Daughters, Mae Adams, Jean (Claude) Randell, Louise Canning, Melina Randell, Patsy Weir, Roselle Wilcox; Sister, Marie Hancock, 23 grandchildren, 27 greatgrandchildren, 23 great-greatgrandchildren as well as a large circle of family and friends.
She is predeceased by her Husband, William Wilcox; Son, Kevin Wilcox; Daughter, Belinda Healey; Grandchildren, Shawn Randell, Andre Wilcox, Mark Wilcox; Sons-in-law, James Adams, Harrison Canning, Fred Randell, Garland Weir; Daughters-in-law, Wanda Wilcox, Debbie Wilcox.
Visitation to take place from the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee from where the funeral will take place on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Pastor George Burton officiating. Interment to follow.

CULL-SAUNDERS, DOROTHY MAUDE (nee Gillard)

August 2, 1930 - March 29, 2022

Passed peacefully away on March 29, 2022 surrounded by family at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital at the age of 91 years.

Maude was a lady who loved life and church. She surrounded herself with family, friends, and strangers alike. She was well known for her little sayings and quotes by all who had the privilege to know her.

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, Children, Freeman (Glenda), Larry (Bessie), Wesley (Charlene), Ada (Donald) Weir, Morris (Josephine), Cindy (Hughie) Crewe, Winnie (David) Power; Grandson, raised as her own, Richard (Tina); Stepson, Stanley (Donna) Simms; Son-in-law, Frank MacWhirter; Sister-in-law, Verna Gillard, 21 Grandchildren, 16 Great-grandchildren, 1 Great-great-grandchild as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

Maude was predeceased by her husband, Lester Cull (1982); Second Husband, John Saunders; Daughter, Bessie MacWhirter; Daughter-in-law, Myrtle Cull; Parents, Frederick and Bessie Gillard; Brothers, Baxter and Frederick Gillard Jr.; and Sisters, Pearl Keefe, Stella Compton, and Lucy Tetford.

Public visitation to take place at the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Pastor George Burton officiating. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Passed on May 24th, 2019 at the age of 65 years. passed away on June 18th, 2017 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 81 years. Passed away form this life surround by her family, to be forever with with the Lord, Mrs. Linda Cora Cassell of Englee NL. Linda Passed at the Health Science Center in St. Johns NL on the 2nd day of June, 2017, she was in her 64th year of life. Left behind with Hearts full of the joy and love she shared are her Husband Grant, her daughters Venica Cassell of Calgary AB, Tammy (Glenn) Canning of Englee NL, Gaye Cassell of Calgary AB, her sons Larry (Vicki) Cassell of Edmonton AB, Terry (Charmaine) Cassell of Birchy Bay NL, and Ernest (Kara) Cassell of Devon AB. Her parents Spurgeon and Marie Randell of Englee NL, sisters Sadie (Guy) Hopkins of Smoky Lake AB, and Vivian (Keith ) Kenney of Summerside PEI, her Brothers Wayne (Verna) Randell of Englee, Hedley (Irene) Randell of Lincoln NB, and Dixion (Kristine) Randell of Lloydminister AB, as will as 12 grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. RANDELL, RUTH

passed away on May 7th, 2017 at the age of 74. She leaves to mourn her Children Kathleen Ganitto, Wallace Randell, Dwayne (Rhonda) Randell, Perry (Deborah) Randell, Paul (Elaine) Randell; Brothers Earl, Eric, Baxter, Dennis; Sisters Maude, Mona, Loretta, Iris, Evelyn, Phyllis, and Selma as well as 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Luke and Stella Compton as well as her husband Garland. Visitation took place from the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee from where the funeral service was held on May 12th, 2017 at 10:00 am with Pastor George Burton officiating. KEEFE, PEARL MAE

Passed away at Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on August 6th, 2016 at the age of 92 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons Wesley (Marilyn) Keefe, Robert (Kris) Keefe, Grant (Mae) Keefe, Lomond (Beryl) Keefe, James Keefe; Daughters Beatrice Gear, Nancy (Richard) Shulek, Celeste (Byron) White; Florence (George) Canning; and sister Maude Saunders as well as 23 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren, one great-great -great grandson as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee from where the funeral service was held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 11, 2016 with Pastor George Burton officiating.  Interment followed in the New Apostolic Cemetery in Englee. MACWHIRTHER, BESSIE

Bessie MacWhirter, (neé Cull); was born at St. Anthony on October 31, 1950. She was daughter to Lester and Maude Cull of Englee. Bess, as she was commonly known, was the second of eight siblings of the Cull family. She completed her schooling at the United Church School in her hometown. She was quite astute and took first place in the last three years of her hometown education. Actually she skipped one of her early grades allowing her to complete her grade 11 at age 15. She then went on to teach school at 16 years of age. Her first teaching post was at St. Anthony Bight. Here she taught students older than herself and as Bess would say ‘’bigger too’’.Her first employment at Englee was playground attendant the first year the playground opened in this town. After her stint as a teacher she went on to St. John’s and studied as a lab technician. She found employment with Grenfell Medical Services at St. Anthony and subsequently did work at North West River and Baie Verte. Later she moved to Corner Brook hospital and then on to Gander where she was head tech and supervisor for the Central general area. Because of her extensive training she was used as a resource person to teach other trainees. Due to her husbands’ work as a long-hall trucker she moved to Leduc, Alberta where she found employment at the Devon Medical Lab. Her total employment counted 28 years of dedicated service. Actually Bess could be counted on to respond to a medical emergency any hour of the 24; come sun, rain, or blizzard.  Bess passed away 2:15pm on November 7, 2015 at the Roddickton Health Center. She leaves to mourn, her husband Frank; sons Richard (Tina), Frank Jr. (Lori); daughter Rebecca; grandchildren, Rebecca, Nicholas, and Keesha; Brothers, Freeman (Glenda), Larry (Bessie), Wesley (Myrtle), and Morris (Josephine); sisters, Ada (Donald Weir), Cindy (Hughie Crewe), Winne (David Power); mother Maude; brothers in law, Alfred (Rose), and Patrick (Joanne); Step Brother Stanley Simms (Donna) and best friend of 46 years, Barbara Chaulk, along with many other friends and family. Bessie was predeceased by her father, Lester Cull.Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee from where funeral services were held at 2:00pm on Thursday, November 12th, 2015. Internment followed at the Apostolic Faith Cemetery in Englee with Pastor George Burton officiating. Funeral Services were entrusted to Kerry M. PITTMAN, HERBERT ELIAS

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 18th day of October 2015, Mr. Herbert Pittman of Englee was in his 84th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his Son Ronald (Elaine) Pittman, Englee, NL; Daughters Jean (Austin) Randell, Bide Arm, NL; Shirley (Wayne) Canning, Surrey, BC; Joyce (Toomas) Soots, Estonia Sharron (Eric) Reid, Englee, NL; Doreen Pittman, Fort McMurray, AB; Fourteen grandchildren, Twelve great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Elsie, His Parents Noah and Nellie Pittman, his Brothers and Sisters. Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 22nd day of October 2015 with Pastor George Burton Officiating.
