COLES, HAZARETH

It is with great sadness that the family of Hazareth Coles announce her peaceful passing on March 1st, 2023 at the age of 82 years, at Curtis Memorial Hospital. Hazareth was born April 3, 1940 to Susan and John Williams in Current Island Newfoundland. She married Archibald Coles on August 1957 and moved to Sandy Cove where she spent the majority of her life. She leaves to mourn daughter Beatrice (Boyce), son Ivan (Betty), Grand Daughters, Susie Eileen ( Hiram), Shana (Earl), Bianca (Jeremy) and Dominique.
Great grandchildren Mitchel and Mackenzie; Brothers Stanley (Bessie), James (Cornelia); sisters Virginia, Cora (Melvin), Ruby (Gerald), Edith (Kirby); daughters-in-law Daphne as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Hazareth was predeceased by her husband Archibald, daughter Susie Eileen; sons John Brian, Archibald Jr, Alonzo; parents John and Susan as well as parents-in-law George and Beatrice. The Family would like to say a special thank you to all the staff at Ivy Durley Place and Curtis Memorial. Visitation will be held at St. Thomas' Anglican Church in Sandy Cove on Monday March 6th and  Tuesday March 7th, with the Family service being held on Tuesday March 7th in the evening. The funeral will be held on Wednesday  March 8th, 2023 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Vernon Short officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Wilson Toope

July 13th, 1946 - February 16th, 2023

76 Years

It is with great sadness that the family of Wilson Toope has to announce the peaceful passing from this life to the next at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St Anthony on the 16th day of February, 2023. Mr. Wilson Toope was in his 76th year. Always a loving husband, father and grandfather. He did everything he could for his family. Wilson loved his family more than anything in this world. He was a family man and worked hard all his life to ensure that his wife and children were taken care of. He enjoyed playing cards, cutting wood, moose hunting and spending time with his family. Left behind to mourn his loss are his children daughter Mamie Ellen (Randy) Sons James (Holly), Wilson Jr. Granddaughter’s Sacha(Anthony), Brooklyn Grandson Sean His brothers Whyman (Emeline), Nicholas (Ivy), Leslie (Edith).

His sisters Cicely (Selby), Sharon (Reginald) and a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Wilson is predeceased by his loving wife Cinderella his parents James and Mary. Sisters Margaret, Elva, Shallottie and brothers Isaac and Abraham.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank the thoughtful and caring staff at the dialysis unit as will as the emergency and ICU staff at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St Anthony.

GIBBONS, RICK

In remembering Rick Gibbons, we say our goodbyes with great sadness. Rick Gibbons, 53, of Plum Point passed away peacefully in St. Clare‘s Mercy Hospital, St. John’s on Thursday July 28, 2022. He was surrounded by many of his loving family and friends. Rick was born on April 30th, 1969 in Flowers Cove, he was the son of Noel Gibbons and Jane Pittman. Rick spent his life running the family business with his brother, Gary Gibbons. He began working at Young’s Home Hardware and later took over as co-manager. Rick worked andran the store for his whole life, with his highschool sweetheart, Roxanne, by his side through it all. Rick had a passion for music and cooking and was known for his love of animals, especially his pet dogs. Left to mourn peacefully by his loving wife Roxanne Gibbons of 21 years, his two daughters, Hailey Gibbons and Vanessa Gibbons, his brother Gary Gibbons (Rupa), his mother, Jane Pittman, his father Noel Gibbons (Sophia), his step-sisters, Betty Genge (Todd), Allison Chambers, his step-brother, Michael Pittman (Tina), his in-laws, Joanne Sinnicks (Arthur), Lorna Sinnicks (Paul), Jake Sinnicks (Linda), his nieces, Alexis Genge, Emily Pittman, Kaitlyn Genge, Hope Gibbons and Jacey, nephews, Dylan Sinnicks, Brandon Sinnicks, Dillon Gibbons, Ryan Sinnicks, Matthew Gould, Evan Pittman and Nicholas Gould, as well as his many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandmother and grandfather Gibbons (Norman and MaryJane), and grandmother and grandfather Young (Wallace and Elizabeth) and his stepfather Jim Pittman. The family service will be held at the Plum Point Church on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 7:00pm. The funeral will be held on Thursday August 4, 2022 at 11:00am. The Gibbons family will be there to welcome all friends and relatives.

RUMBOLT, ARTHUR MICHAEL

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Arthur Rumbolt age 84, of Castor River South on June 17, 2022 at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony surrounded by his loving wife of 62 years (Clara) and all of his loving family.

Art was born on St. John's Island on July 29, 1937 to Lawerence Rumbolt and Jane Gaulton (pre deceased).

He married the love of his life Clara Tatchell on July 26, 1959 and started their family in December 1960.

Art was a very hard working man. He fished along side his brother Lawerence until he retired.

He loved to visit his cabin and go sight seeing for moose, he spent lots of time at the gardens, wood, lawn and berry picking. Although this wasn't his favourite thing to do (LOL), he always went along with his wife. He loved playing cards, especially a good game of poker and spending time with his family.

His family and wife were everything to him. He was a very devoted husband, dad and pop. He loved to see his family visit. He has many fond memories of the time they have shared.

He is survived by his four sons Lyman (Edna) Rumbolt, Luke (Theresa) Rumbolt, Jim (Phyllis) Rumbolt, Stewart (Jessie) Rumbolt. His four daughters Eliza (Stewart) Tatchell, Alva (George) Tatchell, Velma Rumbolt, Vina (Tony) Plowman.

Grandchildren Linda (Dion) Caines, Marvin (Terra-Lynn) Tatchell, Joshua (Kim) Tatchell, Lyman jr. (Sabrina) White, Mindy (Blake) Skappak, Kendra (Kerry) Plowman, Kandice Plowman and Reid Myers.

Great grandchildren Colby Baines, Carly Tatchell, Brielle Rumbolt, Marian Rumbolt, Adrian Rumbolt and Lincoln Skappak, And a large circle of family and friends

Art was brother to Ralph (Laura) Gaulton (pre deceased), Lawrence (Rebecca) Rumbolt, John Genneaux (pre deceased), Frank (Irene) Rumbolt, Cliff (Erma) Rumbolt, Kevin (Carmelita) Rumbolt.

Sisters Dulcie (pre deceased) (William) Tatchell and Bridget (Donald)(pre deceased) Scanlon.

Rosary will take place on June 18, 2022 at Queen of The Angels in Castor River South at 7:30 p.m. Family service will take place June 19, 2022 at 7 p.m.

Funeral service will take place June 20, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Queen of The Angels Church in Castor River South with Fr. Rossi Officating, cremation to follow at a later date.

The family wishes to thank those who visited, sent gifts, food, messages, prayers and calls during their time in St. Anthony.

Thank you to the staff of the Dialysis Unit at Curtis Memorial Hospital. You were wonderful to him. Also, thanks to the staff in Palliative Care Unit, your thoughtfulness and kindness will never be forgotten.

Madeline passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Monday April 26th 2021 at the John M. Gray Center in St. Anthony. She was born and raised in Main brook. Madeline moved to Labrador City with her Husband Alvon and 3 children in 1975. she was a Christian woman and attended her church faithfully. she loved people and people loved her. greeting and meeting people with “How are you My Darling” or “My loved” was just her way. “a kind word and a friendly smile goes a long way” she would say. her family was number one in her life! Madeline was survived by her husbands Alvon, and her three children Darren Morris, Tony Morris and Lisa Burton (Trent), 5 grandchildren Joshua, Jonathan, Rowan, Caleb and Aidan. as well as her only brother Bob Gaulton (Doris), Nephew Dion Gaulton (Sonia), Niece Debbie MacDonald (John). as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

PENNEY, OLIVE

Passed away peacefully at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial hospital on the 31st of December, 2019. She will be sadly missed by her lifelong friend and husband of 64 years, Tom, her son Jim Penney (Catherine), her daughter Debbie Anderson (Morgan), her three grandchildren, Gail Sexton(Mason), Jeffrey Anderson and Jonathan Anderson, her great granddaughter Ember Sexton, her brother Lloyd Tucker (Clara), stepsister Mary Kinsella (Gilbert), stepbrother Ford Pilgrim (Susan), brothers -in-law Roy Penney, Paul Penney (Becky), and Stewart Payne and a large circle of family and friends including her furry friends Jessie and Raya.

Predeceased: Father and mother, Gordon Tucker and Julie Ann Pilgrim, step-father Eric Pilgrim, father-in-law Clement Penney Sr., sisters in-law Selma Payne and Ivy Pilgrim.

Her memorial service was held at the St. Anthony United Church in St. Anthony at 11am on the 3rd of January, 2020 with the arch bishop Stewart Payne officiating. RANDELL, LILY JANE

RANDELL, Lily Jane, born on February 06, 1924 into the family of Jonathan and Naomi Newman. Others born to the family Daniel, deceased, William Deceased, Deliah Pittman, Deceased and Winnie Randell. Lily met her husband Manuel Randell at Little Harbor Deep, they were married on October 27, 1947 To this union were born three children Fred, Alfreda twins and Celie. Manuel and Lily lived in the small fishing village of Little Harbor Deep until the resettlement program 1964 at which time the family relocated to Englee, NL. Lily worked at the local Fish Plant until her retirement in 1989. Lily was an excellent seamstress and spent countless hours sewing for many people in the area. She would make a garment from a picture from a catalog, no patterns necessary she spent many of her retirement years knitting slippers, socks , sweaters and some of the nicest baby outfits ever seen. In 1990 Manuel and Lily moved to Roddickton, to be closer to their family. After Manuel's passing, September 19, 2001 Lily lived in her own   home until late May of this year at which time, after suffering from a fall decided to move into long term care at the Seniors home at Roddickton, where she resided until October when she was hospitalized at St. Anthony until her passing on November 23, 2016 when she went to be with her Lord, her dream come true. Lily truly loved the lord and dedicated her life to him at the young age of 9 years. She attended church every Sunday, no matter what the weather, until last winter when her strength began to fail. By her passing, she leaves to cherish her memories, Son Fred (Melina) Englee, Daughter Alfreda (Ivan Cassell)  Steady Brook, Daughter Celie Parsons, Roddickton, Sister Winnie Randell and 8 grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great, great grandchildren and a large number of relatives and friends.Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Roddickton, from which the burial was held at 2:00pm on November 27th, with Rev. Chris Hewlett officiating. Burial followed the Memorial service at the Apostolic Faith cemetery, Roddickton. Funeral Arrangements Entrusted to Kerry M. Veronica Stevens passed away peacefully at the Northern Lights Regional Health Center in Fort McMurray, Alberta on July 13th 2015 surrounded by her immediate family. She leaves to mourn with loving memories her Husband Jock Stevens, Daughters Kelly Rodgers & Kendall Young and Son Jock Stevens Jr , Grandchildren Cody Rogers & Kaylee Young and her Brothers and Sisters ( Augustine Anscome,Thersea Rumbolt,Ruby Rumbolt ,Ismay Gould ,Wanda Gaulton, Bernard Rumbolt ,Glenn Rumbolt ,Nish Rumbolt,Ambrose Rumbolt, Simon Rumbolt. She was predeceased by her Mother Charlotte Mary Rumbolt, Father Ambrose Rumbolt. Visitation was  held at Our Lady of Grace Parish in Bird Cove, Newfoundland from which the funeral services took place at 12:00 Noon Sunday July 19th 2015 with Father John Bosco officiating. COLBOURNE, DORA MAUDE

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. St. Anthony on the 22nd of Feb. 2015, Mrs. Dora Maude Colbourne of L’Anse Aux Meadows in her 88th year. Left to mourn Maude’s passing are her sons Lester (Hope), Winston (Eliza), Clifford (Rosalyn), Clayton (Dorothy), Goward (Corrine), Daughters Faye Elliott (Amos), Emma Elliott, Hazel Tucker (Owen), son in law Gerard Noonan, 28 Grandchildren, 32 Great grandchildren, and 10 Great grandchildren. Maude was predeceased by her husband Harvey Colbourne, parents William and Emma Bartlett, sisters Mamie Taylor and Violet Pilgrim, brothers Harvey and Wayne Colbourne, Daughter Selma Noonan and Son in law Ozwald Elliott. Visitation was held at the Central United Church at 2:00pm at Quirpon Branch on the 25th of February 2015 with Rev. Gus Pendleton Officiating. Burial followed the service in the L’Anse Aux Meadow’s Community cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on the 27th of December, 2014, Mrs. Cinderella Toope of Black Duck Cove in her 66th year. always a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother, she did everything she could for her family, she loved to play cards and pick berry's. Left behind to mourn her loss are Wilson Toope her husband, her daughter Mamie Elle (Randy), Her sons James (Holly), Wilson Jr. her granddaughters Sacha and Brooklyn her grandson Sean, brother Jake (Jane), Sister Caroline (Walter Sr. ). although not old herself, she lived to see the passing of her father Frederick and Mother Mathilda, her father in law James and Mother in law Mary. Visitation was held at St. Mary's Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove, From Which the Funeral service was held at 2:00pm on December 31st, 2014 with Rev.
