ELLIOTT, ELIZABETH VINA

Elizabeth loved her life in Cook’s Harbour. Born in Wild Bight, she moved to Cook’s Harbour in 1957 where she lived with her loving husband, Bill, for 64 years.

She was well known in the community. She was an avid member of the Anglican Church Women’s Association and regularly attended fundraising bingos where she was happy regardless of who won, she simply enjoyed being around her friends and family.

Elizabeth and Bill spent many summers growing vegetables in their garden down over the road and berry picking on the barrens. She loved playing darts, sometimes for competition, but mostly for fun with her family in the shed.

Elizabeth adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. When they were young, on many summer days you could find her walking with them on George Coat’s Point to pick a few blackberries. After supper, everyone sat around the kitchen table and played cards.

Elizabeth loved her clean and tidy house, but her door was always open to her friends and family. Every holiday the kitchen table included 10 or more people for her delicious hot dinner. Everyone who walked through the door was welcomed with a warm smile, a big hug, and invited to come in and sit down for a cup-a-tea and homemade cookies. She was gentle, quiet, and loved long chats with her family.

Forever loved and remembered by her three sons: Erastus (Sharon), Wilson, and Anthony, and her daughter Alice. Four grandchildren: Charmaine (Chris), Justin (Shauna), Melissa (Tom), and Ryan (Katrine). And her seven great-grandchildren: Elena, Caitlin, Isla, Brody, Ava, Leo, and Sophie.
