CASSELL, LESLIE WILLIAM

March 3, 1936 - October 30, 2022

Passed away Peacefully on October 30 2022 at Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony at the age of 86.

Leslie was born in Hooping Harbour NL on March 3 1936 the son of Theophilus and Laura Cassell. Also born in the family were three Brothers; Pleaman (deceased), Frederick, Edmund and four sisters Eileen (deceased). Elva (deceased), Elizabeth and Joyce.

Leslie married Ivy Randell on September 13 1967, together they raised five children and also a grandson as their own. Leslie was a hard worker to provide for his family. He was a man of very few words, easy going and quiet.

He will be sadly missed and remembered by his children, Pansy, Terry (Rogelyn), Albert (Tammy), Donald (Colette), Janet (Bob), Dana (Kaleigh); two brothers, Edmund (Evelyn) Cassell, Frederick (Bessie) Cassell; two sisters, Elizabeth (Freeman) Compton, Joyce Brown; Grandchildren, Dana, Denis, Abagail, Dylan, Joshua, Zachary, Brandon, Melina, Matthew; Great-Grandchildren Jordyn, Beck, D'Vonjae, Axxyll. He also leaves to mourn his sister in-law Edna Randell and his brothers in-law, Frank Randell, Arthur Noseworthy, Archibald Patey as well as a large number of family and friends.

 The Family would like to extend their thanks to the caring doctors and nurses of the Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, also a thanks to the Roddickton House for making his stay comfortable.

Visitation to take place from the Salvation Army Church in Englee beginning the afternoon of Wednesday, November 2, 2022 and will continue until the funeral service on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Major Janes officiating. Interment to follow in the Roddickton Salvation Army Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, NL, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

CASSELL, EVELYN SUSANNA

August 25, 1938 - August 9, 2021

Evelyn was born in Hooping Harbour to Alfred and Bessie Pollard on August 25, 1938. She went to St. Anthony at age 15 and worked in the hospital with the Grenfell Mission. She later returned to Englee and worked at the hospital there. It was in Englee that she met her Sweetheart, Elias Cassell. Together they moved to Little Harbour Deep from 1957-1964. In 1964 they again returned to Englee where she worked on the fish plant for a short time. She was a homemaker who often would babysit and care for other children. She loved to knit, crochet, and loved her puzzle books. She attended church faithfully as it was her number 1 priority. She did not have any children of her own but was like a second mother to her sister Fannie’s 8 children, whom she loved- and they loved her too. She passed peacefully away at the White Bay Central Health Centre in Roddickton, NL on August 9, 2021 at the age 82 years.
She leaves to mourn, her husband, Elias Cassell; Special Niece, Bessie Mae whom she lived with for the past 6 years; Sisters, Irene, Yvonne (Fred Canning), Joan; Brothers, Hayward (Joan Pollard), Alwin (Fay Pollard); Nieces, Nephews, and a large number of Relatives and Friends. She is predeceased by her Parents, Alfred and Bessie Pollard; Sisters, Sadie, Edith, Myrtle, Fannie; Brothers, Wilmore and Ricky; Brother-in-law, Chesley Randell, Jerry Randell, Ivan Gillard; and Parents-in-law, Ashton and Lilly Cassell.
Visitation to be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee from where the funeral will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Michael Ivany officiating. Interment to follow in the Apostolic Faith Cemetery in Englee. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Alicia Patey, Funeral Director.

it is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Roland Cassell announce his passing on Friday, July 2nd 2021 at his residence in Englee at the age of 66 years. Roland was born to Flossie and Chesley Cassell at Roddickton on the 4th of November 1954. Roland spent most of his adult life working at the fish plant in Englee, then went on to fish with locals for a few years. Roland was a quick witted man who had something funny to say to anyone he met, but also a very caring and lovable person, especially with his animals. Left to mourn his passing are his two sister Melita Fillier of Englee and Rose (Daryl) Maloney of Corner Brook, one brother Morgan Cassell of Medicine Hat Alberta, 9 Nieces, 6 Nephews and a large circle of Relatives and friends. Roland lived to see the passing of his parents Chesley and Flossie, his sister Melvina Fillier Hopkins and brothers David and Harrison Cassell, one sister in law Darlene Cassell and 2 brothers in law Stanley Fillier and Roy Hopkins. The Memorial service was held at 2:00pm on the 8th of July, 2021 at the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee with Pastor Michael Ivany officiating, Burial will follow the service at the Englee Apostolic Faith Cemetery. Passed away at the John M Gray Center in St. Anthony on December 16, 2020 at the age of 70 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her Husband, Harvey; Children, Marlene Tucker, Wilfred Cassell, Frank Cassell, Lisa Cassell (Keith), Robert Cassell, Luann Ropson (Roddy), Charity Cassell (Mike), Kristen Cassell (Andy); as well as 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. The private Funeral Service is to take place on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 2:00 pm from the Calvary Pentecostal Church with Pastor Mark Locke officiating. Passed away form this life surround by her family, to be forever with with the Lord, Mrs. Linda Cora Cassell of Englee NL. Linda Passed at the Health Science Center in St. Johns NL on the 2nd day of June, 2017, she was in her 64th year of life. Left behind with Hearts full of the joy and love she shared are her Husband Grant, her daughters Venica Cassell of Calgary AB, Tammy (Glenn) Canning of Englee NL, Gaye Cassell of Calgary AB, her sons Larry (Vicki) Cassell of Edmonton AB, Terry (Charmaine) Cassell of Birchy Bay NL, and Ernest (Kara) Cassell of Devon AB. Her parents Spurgeon and Marie Randell of Englee NL, sisters Sadie (Guy) Hopkins of Smoky Lake AB, and Vivian (Keith ) Kenney of Summerside PEI, her Brothers Wayne (Verna) Randell of Englee, Hedley (Irene) Randell of Lincoln NB, and Dixion (Kristine) Randell of Lloydminister AB, as will as 12 grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee, from which the Home Going Service was held at 2:00pm on the 7th day of June, 2017 with Pastor George Burton and Pastor Fred Randell officiating. burial was held at the church cemetery following the service. funeral arangments were entrusted to Kerry M. CASSELL, OLIVE GEORGINA

Olive was born in Englee on December 22, 1932 to James and Elizabeth Adams. She grew up with her brothers and sisters in Roddickton. She met and married Ralph Cassell on March 27, 1952 and they enjoyed 63 wonderful years together. She was a loving and compassionate person who dedicated her life to her family and helping others. She was generous to anyone who came to her door. She loved her family more than words can say. Her smile, humor and love will remain in our hearts. She will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her Loving Husband Ralph, her precious Children Lorne(Grace), Gary(Lilllian), Ruth(Wade), and Linda(Bramwell), Grandchildren Chad, Sarah, Darren, Desmond, Laura, Jessica, and Victoria, Great Grandchildren Anthony, Jade, Brianna, and Liam, her Siblings Charlie, Clara, Rowena, Jasper, Leamon, Dorman, Evelyn, Triffie, and Jerry as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents James and Elizabeth Adams, Her Siblings Millie and Jim and Grandson Deon. Visitation was held at the funeral home in Roddickton after which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Sunday November 8 2015 from the Pentecostal church in Roddickton with Lt. Randy Shears officiating. Interment followed in the Salvation Army Cemetery in Roddickton. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M.
