A strong work ethic and unwavering spirit are hallmarks of his character. His full dedication to duty and determination to provide for his family was apparent in his working life as a fisherman, carpenter, boat builder, and chef. Fred, a true servant of God and soldier of The Salvation Army, was Promoted to Glory on Easter Sunday, Resurrection Day, an appropriate exclamation mark at the conclusion of a life lived well to the glory of God. Left with warm and loving memories are his children, Roland (Marion), Velma (David), John (Judith), Priscilla (Godfrey), Deborah (Wilhelmus), Lester (Donna), Raymond (Deborah), Leonard (Joyce), Ernest (Valma), Wade (Linda), 28 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
