Barbara leaves to mourn her Husband: Hubert; Sons: Colin (Petrina) and Cory (Lillian); Daughter Terri-Lee; Grandchildren: Niko, Anika, Dylan, Carly, Julie; Great-grandson: Kallum; Mother: Marion; Sisters: Janice(Alex), Lucinda(Elijah), Edith (Dexter); Brothers: Lester (Violet), Wade (Marie); Brothers-in-law: Willis (Shirley), Harrison (Judy), Lester (Viona), David (Jackie), Ben Denney, Faye Richards; Sisters-in-law: Florence (Freeman), Alma (Wayne), Nellie (Richard), and Janet.

Barbara was Predeceased by : Father: Pleaman; Brothers: Truman and Arthur; In-laws: John and Elizabeth Richards; Sisters-in-law: Evelyn Denney, Nina Hill; Brother-in-law: Headley Richards.

Visitation to take place from Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A family service will be held from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony at 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. The funeral service will take place from St. Mary’s on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 12:00 pm with Rev. Arthur Kinsella officiating. with interment to follow at the St. Mary’s Anglican Community Cemetery.

Died peacefully on Monday, April 17, 2023, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, Nova Scotia, at the age of 78. Loving husband of Trudy (O'Keefe) and father of Charlene (John), Gretchen (Mark), Catherine (Rick) and Will (Laura). Grandfather of Daniel, David, Sophia, Abush, Caroline, Alex, Nolan, Lucy, and Julia.

Born in Toronto on October 14, 1944, he was the son of the late Evelyn (Cooper) and Gerry Fitzgerald. Brother of Geralyn, Tim and the late Greg.

Bill spent his professional life as a rural general surgeon in St Anthony, NL. In the past he was President of the Canadian Association of General Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He was appointed a member of the Order of Canada in 2008. Recently he was Chairman of B.O.L.D. in Baddeck, NS. He loved his family, his work as a rural general surgeon in Northern Newfoundland and Labrador, and sailing on his Concordia Yawl, Tosca.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A funeral service for Bill will be held in St. Anthony, NL, at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 29, at St Mary's Anglican Church. Reception at B.O.L.D. in Baddeck, NS at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phoebe Ollerhead at the age of 92 at Curtis Memorial Hospital St. Anthony, on July 15th. Predeceased by her husband Dudley, sisters Ella Slade and Jessie Seymour. Leaving to mourn are Children Shirley (Truman) Coates, Derek (Sandy) Olllerhead. Grandchildren, Sherry (Bob) Simms, Karen Dunphy, Kristopher (Sarah) Ollerhead, great grandchildren, Mitchell and Aaron Simms, Kaedon Ollerhead, Emily and Mackenzie Dunphy and brothers Reuben and Bill Elliott, sisters Alice Penney, Bessie Cole, Naomi Colbourne, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation to be held from Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 2-4 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 2:00 pm from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Rev Deacon Arthur Kinsella officiating. Interment to follow in the new Anglican cemetery.

Craig John “Flint” Rowe, passed peacefully away with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 49 years, on August 9, 2020 at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s. Predeceased by his grandparents: John and Victoria Rowe and Frank and Mary Martin. Leaving to mourn with fond memories his parents: Jack and Judy Rowe of St. Anthony; brother: Colin (Nicole) Rowe of St. John’s; sister: Carla (Jason) Sharpe of Stephenville, NL; niece: Olivia Sharpe; nephews: Jack Sharpe and James Rowe; close buddies: Trent and Shawn. As well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends. Special thanks for the wonderful care and support from the hematologists, staff of 4 North A and ICU at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s. Craig was an avid salmon fisherman and spent a lot of time in his happy place on the river, especially Main Brook. As well his immense knowledge of computers and technology were always an asset to those who knew him, particularly when they needed help. Funeral services will be held at a later date in St. Anthony. Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family on March 14th, 2017, Effie Wyatt (Patey) of St. Anthony at age 74 years. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories are her husband of 49 years, Joseph and her loving boys, Jeffrey (Deann), Gregory (Mario), grandson Scott (Brooke) and her precious great granddaughter Jade, born on March 4th, 2017. She looked so forward to her arrival and lived long enough to see pictures of her. Also leaving with fond memories are her six brothers, Wilbur (Loretta), Eric (Marjorie), Jerry (Doris), Dennis (Goldie), Alvin (Valerie), Larry (Robin) her only living Aunt Blanche Biles and her brother in law Charles (Joanne), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Herbert and Edith Patey, mother and father in law, John and Emma Wyatt and her precious nephew Joshua Patey and niece Amanda Swinimer (Patey). Effie’s life revolved around her family, whom she loved and cherished with all of her heart. Her nightly phone calls to her boys and brothers, where she always wanted to know in detail how everyone was doing will surely be missed. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony. The funeral service took place on Saturday, March 18th, 2017 at 2:00 pm from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Rev. Katie Flynn officiating. Interment followed.
