It also brings us great peace to know he has been reunited with best friend and wife, Nina. Known by most as Jim, he was born to Rachel (Genge) and George Woodward of Boat Harbour on November 12, 1934.

Jim met Nina, his wife of 56 years, in his hometown of Boat Harbour where she came to fulfill her first job as a teacher. Later moving to St. Anthony, he went on to work with the Department of Highways as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was known to give anyone a helping hand on a blustery day to find their way home safe and sound despite how many times he had to pull them out of a snow bank. He also had a love for music and friends where he found comfort in listening to George Jones or in his younger years squeezing a tune out of his accordion. His retirement was spent taxiing his wife and grandchildren, folding laundry, making after school snacks and the most delicious pot of vegetable beef soup you could imagine. He enjoyed spending time at their cabin at Long Point where they shared many games of cards and meals with family and friends. His most cherished past time was watching softball where his van would be found parked in the same spot every night where he was proud to cheer from the sidelines.
