It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Sidney Morgan May announce his passing at his home in Bird Cove on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the age of 55 years. Richard was born in Roddickton, NL on December 11, 1967.

He worked with Doane Raymond, Maurice Simmonds Services, Doyle Fisheries and lastly and for most of his career, Nortip Development Corporation. For a period of time he served as mayor of Bird Cove and was involved in various committees and ventures that promoted the economy and culture of the Great Northern Peninsula, which he dearly loved.

Richard loved spending time with family and friends, especially his nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. They will always remember him saying “tickle, tickle” as he tickled them. Richard enjoyed reading, fishing, hunting, boating and was a loyal Montreal Canadians hockey fan, because it was his father’s team. He was a kind, devoted and loving son, brother, uncle and friend. His generosity had no limit. He gave above and beyond what would be expected by any one person.
