REEVES, HARRISON RAYFIELD

July 1, 1949 - June 9, 2022

Passed away June 9. 2022 at the age of 72 years.

Harrison was born in Englee on July 1, 1949 to Sidney and Ada Reeves. He met the love of his life, Doris Curtis in 1969 and on May 27th 1970 they were married and together they had 3 daughters, that were his world.

Harrison worked hard in his lifetime at different places, starting with the Whale Plant in Williamsport, and then the fish plant in Englee for a good many years before taking his family and moving to St. John’s where he worked as a carpenter. Eventually they moved back and settled in Bide Arm where he worked on the floor of the Fish Plant until he was promoted to foreman, and he remained until the closing of the plant. After that he did the next best thing to the plant- he went fishing. First with the Englee Pride (Reuben Curtis) and The Green Islander (Alvin Cassell). Overall he was a hard worker, he would help anyone who needed it no matter how sick he was or not, he wouldn’t say anything, he just wanted to make sure he got it done.

Harrison gave his heart to the Lord in April 1998 and everyone who knew him, knew he was a changed man who loved God, and certainly also loved his church.

Harrison was dearly loved and will be missed by his Wife, Doris; Daughters, Darlene (Perry) Cassell, Tina (Brad) Randell, Colleen Reeves (Kyle Frank); Grandchildren, Bronson, Dylis (Skyla Cull), Laura (Peter Norris), Chantal, Angus (Rebecca Pendleton), Josh; Great-Grandchildren, Bentley and Layla; Brothers, Harold (June), Alfred (Shirley), Wilfred (Josie), Derrick (Linda); Sisters, Margaret (Bill), Barbara (Baxter), Josephine (Woodrow) and Ruby, as well as a large number of in-laws, nieces, nephews, as well as many, many extended family and friends.

Visitation was held from the Salvation Army Church in Englee, followed by the funeral service on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Majors Arley and Darlene Masters officiating, supported by Corps Officer, Major Lillian Pelley. Interment followed.
