Muriel Rose Patey
May 31, 1932 – November 9, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother at John M Grey long-term facility, at the age of 90. Muriel Rose Patey nee cull was born in St. Anthony Bight on May 31, 1932, to Henry and Hurslett Cull. In the early 1950’s she met Joshua Patey from Burlington, they married on July 28, 1954, together they started a life in St. Anthony. They raised 5 wonderful children together. She has always been active in her community, she was involved in the UCW, church, hospital auxiliary and was heavily involved with the Kidney Foundation of Canada; she has always had a strong faith. Her true passion was being a homemaker and she loved preparing and sharing a meal with loved ones. Being a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend was of her greatest joys. Muriel loved life and her hometown, she was loved by many and will be truly missed. Left to mourn is her daughter Wavey (Wilf), sons Donald (Judy), David (Marjorie), siblings Boyce (Lorna), Carl (Margaret), Don (Sherry), Pansy (Brett), grandchildren Donnie (Kim), Michael, Ryan, Marilyn and her great grandchildren Aiden, Sebastian, Jasper and Anna. She is predeceased by husband Joshua, her sons Lorne and Joshua Jr, parents Henry and Hurslett Cull and sisters Hilda and Rosalind.
Our family would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for their calls, prayers, visits, and assistance during this difficult time. We would also like to thank everyone at John M Grey facility for their love and care provided during Mom’s time spent there. Mom felt at home and gained a second family, thank you.
Visitation is being held at the funeral home form 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm on Sunday, November 13th with a family service at 8:30pm, conducted by Rev. John Mcgonigle. The funeral service will be held form the St. Anthony United Church on the Monday, November 14th 2022 with Rev. Arthur Kinsella and Carol Roberts Officiating, burial to follow at the fishing point united cemetery.
