COMPTON, ELWYN

August 3, 1938 – May 6, 2019

Elwyn, was born on August 3rd, 1938 to Mark and Evangeline (Pilgrim) Compton of St. Lunaire. He met and married Beatrice (Rose) of Great Brehat on February 16th, 1962. Together, they raised four children, three sons and one daughter. He loved life and loved to spend it with his family and friends. He was well respected in his community, he’d do anything for anyone. He was also known for his sense of humour, you didn’t know what he was going to say, but whatever he said, it was sure to make you laugh. He was also faithful to his church and most of all his Lord and Saviour whom he loved and served for many years. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. He leaves to mourn with a lifetime of memories, his wife Beatrice (Rose) Compton; Children, Pascoe (Trudy), Peter (Angela), Andrew, Prudi; Granddaughter Allison; Sisters, Lucy (Everett) Earle; Brothers, Harvey (Lizzie), Ralph (Evelyn), as well as a circle of extended family, friends, and his church family. Elwyn was predeceased by his Parents, Mark and Evangeline Compton; Brother Freeman; Sister Winnie Ings; Half Brother Jabez; Half Sisters Carrie Curlew, and Jessie Simms. Visitation was held from the Pentecostal Faith Tabernacle in St. Lunaire-Griquet from where the Homegoing Service took place on Thursday, May 9th, 2019 at 2:00pm with Pastor Harnum officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.
