Vida was born in Little Brehat on February 28, 1928 to William and Beatrice Budgell. In 1948 she married Reuben Patey, the love of her life. They moved to St. Anthony in 1956 where they raised their three children while owning and operating their own business. She was an active member of the UCW and the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Her passions were her family, berry picking, and Little Brehat. She passed peacefully away on April 29, 2014. She is survived by her children Keith (Dora), Gloria (Reg) and Laurie (Rosarii), her grandchildren Darryl (Kim, Erin & Kurtis), Shane (Nicole, Haley & Tayler), Jennifer (Dean, Joanna & Liam), Christopher (Holly & Liam), and Crystal. She is also survived by sister in-laws Vera, Florence and Phyllis, a large extended family of nieces and nephews and a wide circle of friends. She was predeceased by parents William and Beatrice Budgell, husband Reuben in 2006, infant grandson Reginald, five brothers and two sisters.Visitation Took Place At the funeral home in St. Anthony, Followed By the funeral service at the St. Anthony United on May 1st at 2:00pm with Rev.
