HODDINOTT, PLEMAN HORACE

March 8, 1931 – June 13, 2024

Passed peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony, surrounded by his loving wife and children, at the age of 93 years.

Pleman was born in Brig Bay to Lillian Maude and William James Hoddinott, one of 11 children. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to 8 children, Joy (Baden), Annette (John), Clayton (4 days old), Pleman (Darlene), Della, (Dexter), Shawnie (Ron) Daisy (Rob), Rick (Terri) and his 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was a very dedicated husband/father who tirelessly provided for his family by engaging in forestry, fishing, and showing movies up and down the coast, across the straits, on the Labrador, and on the Quebec shore, with his brother Clyde. He was a mechanic with Lundrigan’s until he purchased his own dump trucks. He also had a contract with Canada Post to deliver the mail to Roddickton Bide Arm/Englee area for over 20 years.

In retirement he enjoyed his well-deserved break by gardening, going for long walks, taking trips to visit family, and by cutting and hauling wood for his woodstove.

He will be greatly missed by his wife and entire family. We will miss his humor, his gratefulness, graciousness and love. Our precious memories will be with us forever, always in our hearts.

Visitation took place at the Church of the Advent in Plum Point, followed by the funeral service on Saturday June 15th, 2024 at 2pm with Rev. Canon Terrance Coates officiating.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, Funeral Director.
