It is with heavy hearts the family of Albert Pilgrim announces his passing on May 3rd at the Health Sciences Center in St. John’s.
Albert was the son of Wesley and Clara Pilgrim of Griquet.
Albert was predeceased by his parents Wesley and Clara, son Hank, brothers Aubrey, Eric, Samuel, sisters Lavina Richards (Walter), Alice Hedderson, Millie Gillingham (Calvin), Evelyn Adams (Harold), Blanche Green (Bill). Parents in law Ernest & Amelia Elliott, sisters-in-law Shirley Mills, Darlene Pilgrim and brother-in-law Truman Mitchelmore.
Albert leaves to mourn his wife Marjorie, son Seymour (Lynette), Stacy and his grandchildren Lily and Joel. Brothers: Fred (Carol), Leonard (Janette), Murdock, Leon (Mae) and sister Betty. In-laws Doug Mills, Ruby Mitchelmore, Cynthia Diamond (John), Darrell Elliott (Roxanne), Clyde Elliott (Phyllis), Glenn Elliott (Gaye), Randy Elliott, Marg Pilgrim, Winnie Pilgrim, Bertha Snow, special cousin Doreen Poole and a large circle of family and friends.
Albert began working at the young age of 13, fishing for a few years and then worked for a few years in the woods at Sops Arm. Albert then moved to Ontario for a year and when he came home he met his wife Marjorie, and they married on June 30,1973. Together they raised two sons, Hank and Seymour. His grandchildren was his pride and joy and no ask was to much for them. He retired after 25 years with Transport Canada and began his true passion, his welding business. Albert was a jack of all trades and would lend a hand to anyone in need. His work ethic was admired by many.
Funeral arrangements by KM Fillatres Funeral home. Family and friends are welcome to visit Wednesday May 7th and Thursday May 8th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
Funeral service will take place on Friday May 9th at 2pm at St. Mary’s Anglican Church with Rev. Arthur Kinsella officiating. Interment to follow.
