November 25, 1937 - May 11, 2025
Alfreda was born in Hooping Harbour, NL to Rudolph and Chattfield Randell on November 25, 1937. At the age of 15 she married the love of her life, Lewis Hillier, on November 13, 1953. In 1959 they moved to St. Anthony where they raised 8 children including their Grandson Trevor. In 1996 she met a married Malcolm Rose.
Left to mourn are her children: Garry (Pam), Rex (Jill), Darlene (Kevin), Scott (Lin), Austin, Roy (Debbie), Wanda (Mark), Cathy (Dennis), Trevor (Vanessa); 19 Grandchildren, 29 Great-grandchildren, and 4 Great-great-grandchildren; Brothers: Clem, Mark and Richard; Sisters: Meletta and Jean; many nieces and nephews; step-children: Irene, Eileen and Jim; step grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren; and special friends: Flo Dean (Howell), Sybil Noseworthy, and Don Pilgrim (Gaye) who was like a son to her.
Alfreda is predeceased by her parents; husbands: Lewis and Malcolm; Sisters: Marie and Hazel; Brothers: Clifford and John; and Son-in-law: Ross.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her homecare workers, public health nurses, staff of Shirley’s Haven personal care home, the staff of the John M Gray Center and the Curtis Memorial Hospital. There are too many names to mention but you all know who you are and we greatly appreciate everything over the years.
Visitation will take place from the Bethel Pentecostal Church in St. Anthony from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Thursday, May 15, 2025 and from 2-4 pm and Friday, May 16, 2025 with the family service to follow on Friday from 7-8 pm. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Gordon officiating. Interment to follow.
