November 16, 1944 – June 20, 2019

Passed away June 20, 2019 at the age of 74 years. Roy was born in St. Anthony on November 16, 1944 to Garland and Sadie Bussey of St. Lunaire. He was the youngest of four children. On December 17, 1964, he married the love of his life, Mar Compton. Together they raised two children. As a young man, Roy fished alongside his father his Uncle Jake and Cousin Guy. He fished for most of his life. In later years, he worked as a weigh master with Burden’s. In leisure time, he loved attending to his garden, in which he took great pride. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his Wife, Mae; Son, Lorne (Terry Lee); Daughter, Lorna (Todd Hedderson); Grandchildren, Vicki, Nolan, Ryan; Great Grandchild, Eric; Brother, Hector (Ann); Sisters, Vera Budgell, Violet Rowsell, Mamie Taylor; Nephew, Glenn (Debbie); Special nieces, Barbie, Christy, Sarah (The “girls”) as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Roy was predeceased by his parents, Garland and Sadie Bussey as well as special friends; Walters Hedderson, and Frank Reardon. Visitation was held from the Central United Church, Quirpon Branch from where the funeral was held on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gus Pendelton officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.
