TAYLOR, ISAAC

July 21, 1941 - May 18, 2022
Isaac Taylor, was born on July 21st, 1941, to Isaiah & Emily Taylor. He had a wonderful family of 10 siblings. Most of his brothers and sisters settled in Forresters Point. There they raised families of their own. He was a fisherman for 30 years. During his fishing career, he met the love of his life, Olive Offrey. When they met, dad was 27 years old, and mom was 17 years old. They have enjoyed 53 years together. They tied the knot on August 23rd, 1973, giving them 48 years of marriage together. They had three beautiful children, and he adored them.

Dad taught us to show respect, be kind to others, and always be there to take care of our family. He taught Darren the life skills to continue fishing, and the three of us learned to work hard, as he did!

There are so many things about him that we will miss, so it is hard for us to say them all. We loved him very much, and we are very thankful for everything. Our parents always did all they could to give us things we wanted and needed. He loved his family very much!

Isaac leaves to mourn his Wife, Olive; Son, Darren (Deborah); Daughters, Sheri-lynn (Alex), Valine (Jamie); Grandchildren, Nicholas, Delaney, Lacy, Lexi; and Brother, Sisters, and Sisters-in-law, Caroline (Walter), Clayton (Sheila), Lillian, Edna, and Sharon as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family of Rita Maisie Roberts of St. Anthony is saddened to announce that following a lengthy battle of Alzheimer’s disease, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the age of 76 years.

Rita was a stay at home Mom until she raised her children into adulthood. She then moved to St. John’s where she courageously started a career at the Fairmont Hotel, a job she took so much pride in doing. Her work ethic, charisma, and compassion exceeded expectations of employer and guests alike. This unique ability to connect with others awarded her numerous employee of the month awards and she entered retirement being prestigiously awarded employee of the year.

Rita stood out. Her spirit was as vivacious as it was kind. Her smile was infectious – everyone was her friend. She brought us so much joy. She made us laugh. She made everyone she met feel special and loved and precious. Music was ingrained in her very being. Rita had a remarkable ability to play the accordion, harmonica and organ. She was the first to step on the dancefloor and the last to leave. She was beautiful. She was ours.

In her last days, she was surrounded by her family who embraced her with so much love and care.

Left to mourn are her beloved children Kerry (Scott), Jenny, Susan (Timmy), and Gerry (Amy); her precious grandchildren Karli, Aaron, Michael, Jane, Heidi, Reece, and Ryder; the father of her children Gerald Chaytor, sisters Marina Sparkes (Ephraim) and Melva Whitten (David deceased); brother Donald Roberts; special nieces and nephews, cousins and so many close friends.

After 2 weeks at Charles S. Curtis Memorial, on Friday, April 29th, 2022, at the age of 55, our darling daughter, sister, niece and friend to all, left this world to be with her Heavenly Father.

Lynn was born on July 4th, 1966 to Fred and Louise Bussey. While she was born with Down Syndrome, she did not let it limit her experiences in life. Lynn loved being a part of any social setting whether it was a church service, Joy Fellowship, the community living group gathering, a family event or any other function where she could interact with people. She loved listening to music, travelling, walking, dancing, drinking coffee with friends, attending church and being the center of attention.

Lynn attended school until she was 21, did the hairdressing course at the St. Anthony Trade School, worked at various jobs, volunteered at the Family Resource Center, read to children at the school and attended both the UCW and the WM. Her life was very full!

Lynn taught us to love everyone, to treat all you meet with kindness and compassion and to see every life event in a positive light.

She leaves to mourn with loving memories and heavy hearts, her mom and dad, brother Larry (Bonnie), sister Lois (Neil), nieces Lee Anne (Tyler), Shawna (Carsten), Sarah (Sam), Great-nephews, Jonas, Grey; Great-niece Letia and a huge circle of family and friends.
