KINSELLA, GILBERT THOMAS

July 24, 1942 - March 23, 2022

Passed peacefully away March 23, 2022 at the age of 79 years, Gilbert Thomas Kinsella of St. Anthony.
Gilbert loved life and surrounding himself with family, friends, and strangers alike. He always had a treat on hand for any child that was around.
He leaves to mourn his Wife and best friend of 55 years, Mary; Children, Marilyn (Geoff), Byron (Angela), Penny, Ricky (Tracey); Grandchildren, Kris, David, Nicole, Tyrel, Candis, Ryan, Drayson, Jennine, Kelsey, Kristen, Laura, Lorne, Blake, Aiden; Great-grandchildren, Tia, Jelena, Kayden, Brooklyn, Hendrix, Ava, Sawyer, Kingstin, Lilly; Siblings, Wilfred (Jean), Albert (Ellen), Emma, Arthur (Belinda); Brothers-in-law, Tom, Lloyd (Clara), Ford (Susan) as well as large circle of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Gilbert is predeceased by his Parents, Arthur and Blanche Kinsella; In-laws, Eric and Julie Pilgrim; Daughter Lois Johnson and Son-in-law, Glenn Richards.

Public visitation to take place from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony On Sunday, March 27, 2022 and Monday, March 28, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Arthur Kinsella officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

POOLE, THOMAS JAMES

Thomas J. Poole was born on September 15th, 1930 to Fredrick and Emma Poole.

He Leaves to mourn his children Cora (Gordon), Bernice (Frank), Victor (Christine), Bessie (Chad), Shawn (Wendy), and Ethel (Pleman). His grandchildren Effie, Dean, Vince, Pauline, Kent, Stacey, Laura, Natalie, Krista, Karla, Ashley, Danny, Nicole, Michelle, Lisa and Cole. His great-grandchildren Danielle, Courtney, Kyle, Shayla, Megan, Alysha, Alana, Taylor, Hannah, Cali, Nathan, Leah, Benjamin, Jack, Ryder, Maddison, Georgia, Bentley and Elsie-Mae. His great-great-grandchildren Logan and Dayna. His sister Ethel (Wilfred), many nieces, nephews and friends.

Tom is predeceased by his wife Elsie, 2 sons Carl and Wallace. 6 brothers Nelson, Earl, Norm, Paul, William and Llewllyn. Two sisters Florence and Shirley. Parents Fredrick and Emma. 

Tom met and married the love of his life Elsie Burden on December 27th, 1956. Together they raised eight children. Tom was a hard worker who did the best to provide for his family. Tom had his trials in life when he lost his 23 year old son to a motorcycle accident  in 1984. In 1992 he lost a second son, age 30, in a drowning accident, along with his brother, age 59. Then in September 1999 he lost his wife, age 60. All the tragedies made him stronger, he never gave up and stayed strong to the end.

Rest in peace. 

Visitation began on March 14th, 2022 and will continue till the service at a local meeting place (time of which will be announced) With Rev. Jennifer Rumbolt Officiating. MITCHELMORE, THOMAS GUY

It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas Guy Mitchelmore announce his passing on Friday August 20th, 2021 at the age of 75 years.

Tom was born on October 10th, 1945 in St Anthony to Guy and Maisie Mitchelmore. He met and married Peggy Bennett of Main Brook on August 29th,1969. Together they raised 3 daughters Rhonda, Debbie, and Sheri. Tom served in the Canadian military with the Black Watch Regiment in Cyprus from 1965-1968 a part of the United Nations peace keeping forces. After serving his country he returned to Newfoundland to work as a professional fisherman. In the late 1980's he worked as hunting and fishing guide with Tuckamore Lodge until he retired in 2011.

Tom was a generous and kind man. A good Samaritan, who would never see a stranger or someone in need stranded. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with a great love for the outdoors. He will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched. He will be mourned by his wife Peggy, daughters Rhonda (Mike), Debbie (Mark) and Sheri (Derek) and his six grandchildren; Jessica, Michael, Joshua, Matthew, Coale and Madison. In addition, he will be mourned by his siblings Ross (Linda), Sheila, George (Kim) and Brenda (Frank) and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and close friends. Tom is predeceased by his parents Guy and Maisie Mitchelmore. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

RANDELL, MANUEL THOMAS

Manuel Thomas Randell was the son of Christopher and Jenneth Randell. He was born at Hooping Harbour on December 1st, 1952. the family resettled to Bide Arm in 1969. After resettlement during his young years, Manuel Moved to St. John’s where he worked at a metal fabrication shop. in 1974 Manuel became a dad for the first time when his daughter Beverley Lane was born Beverley lives in fort MacMurray and could not be here today due to Covid-19 Restrictions. in 1978 Manuel moved back to Bide Arm, sometime after he went fishing on the Ronald and Doreen, with well known local fisherman Mr. Herbert Pittman, it was around this time that Manuel Started dating Gloria Randell of Englee. During their 39 years together, Manuel and Gloria Raised a family of one daughter Robyn Randell and one son Lucas Randell. when his employment with Mr. Pittman ended, Manuel partnered with Eddie and Terry Randell to build their own boat. they fished together for some time and Manuel left the fishing industry with the start of the Cod moratorium in 1992.

in 2000 he began working as a welder at Marine Service Center in Englee, he continued in the employment of Mr. Hubert Randell until he became ill in June of 2019 while working at the Wabash airport.

Manuel’s health continued to deteriorate and on July 3rd of 2020 he was admitted to Charles S. Curtis Memorial hospital at St. Anthony. he passed peacefully away at 12:30 am on Saturday July 11th, 2020 surrounded by his family.

the visitation and funeral service for Manuel was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Bide Arm on July 13th, 2020 with pastor Howard Canning officiating, burial followed in the community cemetery. HILLIER, THOMAS BAXTER

Passes away peacefully at the John M. Gray Center on the 26th of August, 2013, Mr. Thomas Baxter Hillier of Griquet, in his 73rd year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Irene, Daughter Tammy(Chad Anderson), Stepson Paul HUmby, Step-Daughter Myrna(Stan Earles), one Granddaughter Emma and three Step-Grandchildren Tristen, Chandler, Keisha, six brothers, two sisters, as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Laura and Stanley Hillier, brothers David and Hayward, Sisters Marion and Mable. Visitation was held at the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in Griquet from which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on the 30th day of August 2013 with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Interment followed in the Pentecostal Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director.  

 

WHITE, STANLEY THOMAS

Passed peacefully away surrounded by family on the 9th   day of March, 2013 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Rosalind; Sons Hank(Janet); Graham(Cindy); Daniel (Marla); Daughter June(Chris); Grandson Nicholas; Grand Daughters Susie; Robyn; Chelsea; Great Grandchildren Ryder ; Hanna Special Friends Anthony; Tom; Sarah; Joyce; as well as many other family and a large circle of friends. Visitation was held at the St. Thomas Anglican Church in Sandy Cove form which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 12th day of March 2013 with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Savage Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral director.

COMPTON, THOMAS EDWARD

Passed away at the John M. Gray Center on the 14th of dec. 2012 at the age of 72 years, Mr. Edward Thomas Compton of St. Lunaire-Griquet. Mr. Compton leaves behind, with loving memories, his sons Craig (Carolyn), Brian (Pauline), Glen (Joan), and Brent (Wendy) his daughters Mae (Sheldon), Faye (Alasdair) as well as 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 brothers and 6 sisters. Tom lived to see the loss of his wife Bernice his sister Betty his brother Roderick, father john and mother Alverda. Visitation took place at the Pentecostal church in Griquet, from which the funeral service was held at 2:00 pm on the 18th of December 2012 with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.
