Charles Strangemore

April 11th 1948 – October 24th 2024

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Charles Strangemore announce his passing on Thursday, October 24th, 2024, at the Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 76 years.

Charl leaves to mourn with the fondest and most precious memories, his Wife Gaye (Cull), his Children Nicole (Eddy), Tammy (Rick), and his Grandchildren Amy (Jamison), Jonah (Leigha) and Andrew (Nicole).

His Siblings Selwyn (Ivy), Guy, Marilyn, Eva (Riley), & Joyce, and his Sister-in-law Selma.

His Brother and Sister-in-laws, Mae, Doris (Tom), Gerald (Nina), Wayne (Sharon), Millicent (Ern), Val (Jane), Wavey (Eli), Kevin (Yvonne) and Brother-in-Law Neil

A huge circle of Nieces, Nephews and other family members that will always remember him with a smile.

Charl is also leaving behind two very important families that he was so proud to be a part of. The House Family, Baxter, Don and Sheila, and his Transport Canada Family at the St. Anthony Airport.

Charl is predeceased by his Parents Hayward and Naomie, Sister Nita, Brother Carl, Brother-in-laws Tony Walker and Roy Burt, his Parents-in-Law Joshua and Gertie Cull, and Siblings in Law Sam Kinsella, Dennis Patey and Joy Simms.
The funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday October 29th, 2024, cremation will follow with burial at a later date.

Passed away into peace on the 31st day of May, 2020, Emmie Jane Gladys Strangemore. Left to mourn Emmie’s passing are her Husband Clayton, Children Cynthia, Pauline, Scott and Eric, Her Grandchildren Adam, Shelly, Matthew, Austin, Samantha, Elvis, Rico, Stephanie s., Stephanie M., Blaine, Stacy-Ann, Demitre, Brendan, Jackson as well as many great grandchildren and extended family and friends. The funeral service was conducted at the Funeral Home in St. Anthony on June 3rd at 10:00am with Major and Captain Rideout officiating, burial followed the service at the Old Salvation army Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Alicia Patey Funeral Director.

STRANGEMORE, JEREMIAH

 Jeremiah Strangemore was born in Ireland Bight on December 31, 1927 to Esau and Dorcas Strangemore. He was one of eight children. He and his brothers fished with their father in the summer and moved to Lolly’s Brook in the winter to work in the Lumber Camp. In 1950 the family moved to Main Brook where they fished and also worked with Bowaters. In 1962 he married Ethel Heddison and together they raised two children, Alice and Randy. He was grandfather to Roddy and Christa and great-grandfather to Hannah and Jake. He is survived by his wife Ethel of nearly 54 years; children Alice (Dennis) and Randy (Barb), grandchild Christa, great-grandchildren Hannah and Jake, sister Mary Jane Burt, brothers Jobe (Elizabeth), Norman (Myra) and Clifford (Dora), sisters-in-law Flo (Paul) and Vera. He is predeceased by parents Esau and Dorcas, grandson Roddy Pilgrim, sisters Blanche, Lucinda, brother Ralph and brothers-in-law Bill Burt and Robert Moores. Visitation was held at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Main Brook from where the funeral service was held on Sunday February 14, 2016 with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director

Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Center on the 14th day of March 2014. Mrs. Naomi Strangemore is in her 93rd year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons Selwyn(Ivy), Charles(Gay), Carl(Selma), Guy(Karen), daughters Nita Seaward, Marilyn(Tony) Walker, Eva(Riley) Applin, Joyce(Roy) Burt, Grandchildren Nicole(Eddy) Cassell, Luanne(Frank) Keats, Todd (Rae Lynn), Tammy, Marla(Ward) Smith, Jodie(Cyril) Lane, Shelley(Cory) Simms, Gavin Applin, Christopher Walker, Heidi Walker, Colby, and Leanne Burt, Great Grandchildren Hilary, Nicholas, Amy, Jonah, Andrew, Cameron, Tyler, Lucas, Marin, Mackenzie, Ashley, Erin and Kali, sister Lillian(Hayward) Elliott, sister-in-law Grace Pittman, special friends Evangeline Strangemore, Blanche Burt, Mary Jane Burt and Julie Hillier as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Hayward, parents William and Rachel Pittman, brothers Gordon, Ralph, Roy, and Glossen, sisters Edna Drover and Maude Elliott. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony followed by the funeral service which was at 2:00pm on the 19th day of March 2014 from the St. Mary’s Anglican church with Rev’d Fr. Paul C. Findlay officiating. Internment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger funeral director.
