MACEY, ROLAND

November 14, 1938- March 28, 2024

With great sadness, the family of Roland Macey announce his passing at Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital on Thursday March 28th at the age of 85 years.

Roland was born on November 14th, 1938 to George Henry and Alice (Coates) Macey. He spent most of his life fishing and working where he made many friends along the way. He married the love of his life, Currie Noseworthy on November 25,1959. Together they raised three children, who they loved dearly.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories; his children Roger (Loretta), Mary Alice (Dean) and Joanne (Boyd). Three grandchildren; Darren, Leon (Robyn), and Andrea (Andrew), as well three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Cohen and Charles.

His brother William (Christine). Brother In-laws Eric, Norman (Helen), Gorvin (Sarah), Selby (Lorraine), Wade, and Peter. Sister in-laws Emily, Jean, Priscella and Velma he also leaves to mourn a large circle of friends and family; including his special homecare worker “his girl” Tonya; who the family is forever thankful for her kindness, compassion, and companionship.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Currie. Parents George Henry and Alice Macey, and Parents in law Selby and Mary Noseworthy.

Visitation to take place from St. Andrew’s Anglican Church beginning on Sunday, March 31 2024 at 8:00 pm with the family service taking place at 7:00 pm on Monday, April 1, 2024. The funeral service will take place Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 10:30 am with Rev. Canon Vernon Short officiating. Interment to follow in the Green Island Brook Cemetery.

Curtis Memorial Hospital at the age of 85 years. he is forever loved and remembered by his loving wife of 62 years: Nellie; daughters: Linda (Terrence), Barbara (Gorvin), Brenda (Carter); Grandchildren Darrell (Stephanie), Bryan (Amanda), Bryann (Matthew), Stephen, Chris; Great Grandchildren; Jordan, Sierra, Jacinta, Taylor and Liam. Sister-in-law: Virtue, Cora, Eliza and Naomi. Norman was Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Jessie Parrill; Brothers: Nelson(Lenora), Harrison, Allan (Martha Jane), Ralph (Goldie), Anthony (Audrey), Stedman, George, Maitland, Reginald, Francis; Sisters: Dulcie (Llewellyn), Effie Blanche and Hilda Louise. Viewing by invitation at St. Andrews’s church, Lower Cove. The funeral will be held on Monday April 19th, 2021 at 2:00pm with Rev. MITCHELMORE, RHODA SUSAN

Is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Rhoda Susan Mitchelmore on December 28th, 2020.  She passes at home with her husband by her side. . Born July 23rd 1936 to Amy and Jim McLean. She was the eldest of 7 kids. She is predeceased by her son Dean and mom and Dad Amy and Jim, sisters Millicent and Maisie. Mother and father in law Tom and Mamie Ellen.  Brother in laws. Mainland and Harvey. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Graydon Mitchelmore. Son Jasper, daughters Jill and May.  Grandchildren Graydon (Tammy),  Deanie, Michael, Tammy. Great grandchildren Darrius and Marcus.  Sister. Mamie Ellen, brothers John Thomas (Winnie), Vincent (Jessie) and Marcel (Eura). Sister in laws Bertha, Velma (Wally), Myrtle (Ren). She will be missed by many of her furry grandkids, Posie will especially miss his Nans’s cuddles. Rhoda Susan was devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was a kind hearted person who had many friends and loved by all who knew her. She was an amazing cook and baker. She loved sharing what she made with family and friends or just people she met.  You would never go to her home and leave hungry.  She enjoyed a good game of cards and knitting, she knit socks for many family and friends as well as the homeless and kids at Janeway.   If there was anyone in need she was there to help.

MITCHELMORE, DORCAS

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 26th day of February 2015. Mrs. Dorcas Mitchelmore of Green Island Cove was in her 72nd year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 52years Winston, her children Winston, Marlene(Eric), Faye(Gerald), Julie(Harvey), Milton(Susan), Josie(Dwight), Grandchildren Jordan, Susie, Brandi, Robby, Jada, Danny, Chuck, Brady, Michelle, Monique, Great- Grandchildren Chloe, Isaac, Peyton, Spencer, Bella, Layla, Sister Lydia(Eldred), Brothers George W. (Marina) and Whyman as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Reginald and Johanna, Sister Julie and Sister-in-Law Minnie. Visitation was held at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Lower Cove from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 1st day of March 2015 with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Green Island Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

HUGHES, WHYMAN

Passed away peacefully in to rest at his private home in Green Island Brook at the age of 71, Mr. Whyman Hughes. Whyman Leaves behind with a lifetime of loving memories, his son Brian (Wanda), daughters Brenda (Keith ) Russell, Beulah (Wayne), Keefe, his grand children Tara, Alicia, Keith, Jake and Josh, His brothers  Bill, Roland, Flick (Frances), Nat (Patsy), Winston (Mona), sisters Amy (Stanley) Coates, Elva Caddy, Beulah (David) Wells, Sheila (Frank) Whalen, Brothers in law Lawernce (Jean) Noseworthy, Eric (Mae) Noseworthy, Norman (Helen) Nosweorthy, Gorvin (Sarah), Noseworthy, Garland (Priscella) Noseworthy, Selby (Lorraine) Noseworthy, Wade Noseworthy, Roland Macey, Peter Webb, sisters in laws Phoebe Hughest, Vera Hughes, Sadie Way, Velma Noseworthy, Winnie Major, Emily (Gideon) Hughes and a large circle of family and friends. Whyman was predeceased by his wife Rosie, Parents John and Bridget, Parents in law Selby and Mary Noseworthy, Brothers Baxter and Claude, Sisters Stella and Maria, brother in laws Osborne Noseworthy, Orval Caddy, Robert Major, Henry way, sister in law Marg Hughes, Currie Macey, and Cassie Webb. Visitation was held at the St.Andrews Anglican Church in Lower Cove, after which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Saturday July 19th, 2014 with Rev. Marlene Harvey and Lay person Maxine Hughes officiating. burial followed the service in the Green Island Brook Anglican Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. HEDGE, HARVEY CLYDE

Passed away suddenly on the 9th day of May 2013 at the Health Science Center. Mr. Harvey Clyde Hedge of Pines Cove was in his 66th year.  Leaving to mourn with heavy hearts and loving memories his wife of 46 years Judy, Children Daphne(Vaughan), Dale(Dwayne), Danette(Ken), Darrell(Janice), Grandchildren Shelby, Allie, Jarrett, Michael, Neil, Liam, Kyle, Jack, Sister Jessie, as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his Mother Maria, Father Silas, Brothers Stanley, Roland, Sisters Mariam, Elda Manette and Brother-in-law Gervin. Visitation was held at the St. Andrews Anglican Church form which the funeral service too place at 2:00pm on the 12th day of May with Rev. Marlene Harvey and Maxine Hughes officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican cemetery in Pines Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger funeral director.
