Melvin was born October 19, 1945 and he went home to be with the Lord August 10, 2020. Left to mourn: wife Irene, for almost 50 years; Oct. 2020, son Bradley (Trina), Son Trent (Paula) and daughter Jennifer (Andy Hoddnott). Also five grandchildren: Brandon (Holly), Latesha, Makayla, Jada, Hannah and Kennedy, a great grandson Michael and a step great granddaughter Sierra.  Sister Ella Burton (Carl), sister Nellie Jennings (Les), sister Rita Colbourne and sister Debbie Squires (Ray). Brother in-law Max Short (Ethel), brother in-law Jim Short (Ena) and sister in-law Josie Powell. As well as a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by parents Fred and Pearl Roberts, sister Ruby and brother Willie.  Since his first stroke on December 8, 2014, Melv has been very actively enjoying life; he was a walking miracle. Because he had no drivers license, he loved his bike more than ever. If Mel wasn’t walking he was out and about on his bike. In the woods was top priority for Melv. He couldn’t understand anyone who didn’t enjoy being in the woods. Fishing, well that was next in line and then it was the garden. Melv couldn’t wait to set the potatoes, split a fish, pick some berries, especially partridge berries, and he always loved meeting with friends for his morning chat or to share a cup of tea and a lunch. He was a very kind and loving brother, husband, father, poppy and friend who will be missed tremendously. a private visitation will proceed the funeral, which will take place at 3pm on the 14th of august, 2020 at the United Church ship cove with Rev. John Maich Officiating. burial will follow in the community cemetery. funeral arrangements are entrusted to Kerry M Fillatres Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

ROBERTS, LOREN KURT

Passed away September 5th, 2019 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital at the age of 55 years. Loren leaves to mourn with cherished memories; Wife - Pansy, daughters – Samantha (Keith) and Lorna (Ryan), along with the lights of his life, three precious grandchildren; Clay, Kai and Rachel. He also leaves to mourn his extended immediate family; Frances (Isreal), Ralph, Hubert (Doris), Edward (Lavenia), Albert (Triffenia), Boyce (Michele), Alec (Loretta), Eli (Marlene), Grace, Amanda (Wayne), Gail (Keith), Samantha (Brian), Lucy-Ann, Tim (Angela), Ena, nieces, nephews and numerous special friends. Loren was pre-deceased by; Mother – Jean, Father – Andrew, father-in-law - Carmen and brother - Calvin.

Loren was a jack of all trades and loved spending time in the great outdoors. He took great pride in everything he did and had never backed down from a challenge. Other than spending quality time with family, his three greatest loves included spending his time on the great North Atlantic, truck driving on the wide open roads and mastering any carpentry task sent his way. Even in his months of illness, Loren took each day as a blessing.

Family and Friends are welcome to visit the Central United Church on September 8th, 2019 from 7-9pm to pay respect. A celebration of life will be held September 9th, 2019 at 2pm followed with inurnment burial at Central United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to KM Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony, Lee Nippard, Funeral Director. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Central United Church Memorial Fund or Daffodil Place in Loren's memory.

ROBERTS, UNA

Passed peacefully away at the Charles s. Curtis memorial hospital on the 5th day of June 2013. Mrs. Una Roberts of Quirpon was in her 92nd year.  She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories daughter Margaret(Charles), daughter-in-law Goldie,grandchildren Preston(Tammy), Joy(Rick), Judy(Tim), and Tim(Bev), great-grandchildren Rikki, Alex & Jett, sister Blanche(Ron), Brothers Jacob, Arch(Maisie), and Lloyd, as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Walter, Son Ford, parents Moses & Clara Patey, Sisters Louise & Greta, Brothers Gideon & Clarence. Visitation was held a the funeral home in St. Anthony followed by the funeral service which took place at 2:00pm on Monday June 10, 2013 from the Salvation Army Citadel with Majors Dinzel & Kathleen Baggs officiating. Interment followed in the Community Cemetery in Quirpon.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Una Roberts, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director.

Passed away suddenly on the 23rd of May 2013 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital. Mr. E. Ford Roberts of St. Anthony was in his 72nd year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories Wife Goldie, Children Judy(Tim) and Tim(Bev), Grandchildren Alex and Jett, Mother Una, Sister Margaret(Charles), Stepdaughter Wendy Brent & family, special uncle Preston(Tammy) & Joy(Rick) as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his Father Walter. Visitation was held a Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony followed by the Funeral service at 2:oopm on the 27th of May with majors Dinzel and Kathleen Baggs officiating. Followed by cremation. ROBERTS, BERNARD ALLAN

 Passed peacefully away at his home in Ship Cove on Nov. 3, 2012, Mr. Bernard Allan Roberts in his 75th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Vina; sons Terry (Dorcas), Barry (Merle), and Wade (Angela); daughters Bernette (Cyril), Marion (Gary), Lisa, and Diane (Neil); Brother Raymond; sisters Dorothy, Maisie (Mike) and Leonie (Kevin); 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and many special family and friends.  He was predeceased by his daughter Beverly Phobie and parents Keywood and Amelia Roberts. Visitation is being held at the United Church in Ship Cove and will be followed by funeral at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7th, 2012 with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating.
