ANDERSON, GOWER

Passed Away Peacefully at the Shirley's Haven Personal Care Home in St. Anthony on the 16th of January, 2015, Mr. Gower Anderson of L'Anse Aux Meadows in his 85th year. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Dorothy (Nee Decker) of 58 years, his daughters Bernice (George), Bonnie, Colleen (Eric), sons Gerald, Kevin (Donna), Kirby (Lisa), Grandchildren Kristopher (Amanda), Tara-Lynn, Kathryn (Eric), Elizabeth, Kyle and Meghan, Brothers Alfred (Pearl), Maxwell (Gladys), Dorman (Rose), Brother in law Douglas (Frances), sister in laws Deborah, Ivy Decker, Helen Anderson, Juanita Decker and Bessie Campbell (Seymour) and Myrtle Elliott. Gower was Predeceased by his parents Charles and Delena Anderson, Brother Job, Parents in law Garland and Dorcas Decker, Brothers in law Reginald, Maxwell, Harold Decker and Ross Elliott.  Visitation was held at the Funeral Home in St. Anthony, After which the funeral service took place at the St. Mary's Anglican Church at 2:00pm on Monday January 19th with Rev. Fr. Paul C. Findlay officiating. burial followed the cemetery  in the L'Anse Aux Meadows Community Cemetery, In Lieu if Flowers donations were accepted to the L' Anse Aux Meadows Cemetery Fund (contact the funeral home for details). LARKIN, ULET

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on the 10th day of January, 2015, Mr. Ulet Larkin of Cooks Harbour in his  81st year. Left to mourn with lots of wonderful, Fun filled memories are his one sister Christena (Melvin), Decker, Three Brothers Alf (Maude), Tom (Myrtle) and Fred. Plus a large circle of nephews, nieces and friends. Ulet was predeceased by his parents Stephen and Jenetta Larkin, brothers Erastus, Archibald, Alex and Angus. Sisters Lillian, Jane and Emily. The visitation was held at the Funeral home in St. Anthony, After which the funeral service was held at the St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony at 2:00pm on the 13th of January, Followed by burial in  the Cooks Harbour Anglican Cemetery.  Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

SIMMS, FLORENCE

Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Center on the 28th day of December 2014. Mrs. Florence Simms of St. Anthony was in her 84th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Iris(Mike) Ryan, Darlene(David) Williams, Bella(Guy) Krepps, Josalyn Simms-Elliott, Leroy(Laurie) Simms, Melvin Simms, David Simms, Paul (Sherry) Simms, Paula (Rex) Simms, Carolann(Paul) DraJem, Donna(Lynn) Simms St. Onge, Nineteen Grandchildren, Six Great Grandchildren, Brother Stewart (Flora) Letto, Sister Myrtle Jones as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her Husband Arthur Simms, Father Peter Letto, Mother Martha Letto, Brothers Hedley, Ellis, Manuel, Letto, and Sister Dorothy Letto. Visitation was held at the funeral home is St. Anthony from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Friday the 2nd day of January 2015 with Rev’d. Fr. Paul Findlay officiating. Interment followed in the St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger funeral director 

HYNES, KEVIN

Kevin was born on April 13th, 1964 to Hazel and Edward Hynes in St. Anthony NL. during his short life, Kevin had much sickness, He loved to salmon fish and take road trips with his buddies, he enjoyed the simple things. Kevin Passed away in to peace on the 9th of December, 2014 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 50 years. left to mourn his passing are his brothers and sisters Peggy (Ronald), Joan (Boyd), Terry (Delores), Donna (Greg), Eddie (Erdie), Lee, Wayne (Bonnie), nephews philip, Michael, Derick, Chris, Stephanie, Robin, aunt Martha and Uncle Don, Adam, Hazel, Paul, Sabrina, Smantha, Annalee, Emily, Tiara, Michaela, Riley, Charlotte, Thomas, Thea, Thorden, Charles, Anjelika, Abigail, Dominick And Avery, a large circle of friends especially his buddies Glen Pilgrim and Frank Simms and "Buddy " His cat.  In his short life he seen the passing of his parents Hazel and Edward, his grand parents Mary and James Patey, Charles and Janet Hynes and his niece Cheryl-Dee. Visitation was held at the Funeral home in St. Anthony, after which the funeral service took place at The St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Rev'd Fr. Paul C. Findlay Officiating. Cremation followed the Service with burial to be announced at a later date. Funeral services Were entrusted to Kerry M. PYNN, WILFRED

Passed peaceuflly away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on July 22, 2014 Mr. Wilfred Pynn, of Quirpon, at the age of 79. predeceased by his wife Margaret, son in law Jim wells, sisters Martha, Mary , Stella, Tamar, Francis, Dorothy and brother Alfred. eft to mourn with fond and loving memories are daughters Dale Wells, Sandra (Tony Blake) and Yvonne (Randy Gulliver), grandchildren Angela (Phillip) Noland (Tennell), Natalie (Damien), Neland (Christine), Steven (Brittany), Jason, Jill (Doug) and Amanda. great Grandchildren Jane,Owen, Emma, Claire and Ava and Madi. 2 sisters Rose (Dorm Andrson) and Vii (George Allan). Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral home in St. Anthony after which the Funeral service was held on July  25th at 2:00pm with Rev. Findlay officiating cremation and burial followed the funeral service at the old Anglican cemetery in St. Anthony, on Monday July 28th. funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. COOPER, EFFIE

Effie was born to Elihu and Emaline Pilgrim in St. Anthony Bight on August 16, 1914. at the age of 12 she moved to St. Anthony to care for two children who had lost their mother. she worked at the IGA hospital as a staff waitress where she met the love of her life, Harold Cooper. they married Nov. 6 1935. together they raised two children, tony and Marilyn. she was a homemaker, until she moved to the west side of the harbour when she started taking in boarders. she loved playing cards, baking and reading, but most of all she loved to travel. she loved her family and enjoyed the family gatherings. Effie passed away into peace on the evening of the 23rd of July in 2014 at the age of 99. she will be sadly missed by her daughter Marilyn, brother Maitland, sister Una (Tony), Daughter in law Celeste (John), Grandchildren Glenda (Tom), Lori (Ed), Tara (Kirk), Brenda (Eric), and Wade (Sheila). great grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Morigan, Erica, Jodi, Shauna and Tony, her many nieces and nephews, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Effie lived to see the passing of her Husband Harold, son Tony, son in law freeman, five sisters Lottie, hazel, Mabel, Lulu, and Ethel. as well as her brother Lewis. visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony, after which the funeral service took place at St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony at 2:00pm on July 26th, 2014 with Rev'd. Fr. Paul C. Findlay. burial followed at 9:00am on Monday July 28th at the old Anglican cemetery in St. Anthony. funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. SIMMS, REGINALD NOEL


January 15, 1928 – May 31, 2014
St. Anthony, NL

On Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the age of 86, Reginald peacefully left this world. Reg will be sadly missed by his wife of 59 years, Joan; children: David
(Cynthia) & Maurice (Beverly); grandchildren: Heather (Jason), Jason
(Catherine), Shayna, Paul and Ryan; great grandsons, Joshua, Zachary,
Maxx, Charlie, Thomas, Dylan & Lucas; sister: Dorothy; brother,
Norman; sister-in-law Jean, brother-in-law Wayne (Bernette). He will
also be missed by a large circle of family and friends. Reginald was
predeceased by his parents John & Bertha Simms; brothers Robert,
Raymond, Frank & George, & sisters; Jean, Jesse & Catherine. the visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony, after which the Funeral Service was held at the St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony, at 2:00pm on Tuesday June 3rd, with Rev.
