RANDELL, YVONNE SYBIL

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Yvonne Sybil Randell who left us on January 18, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Yvonne was born on May 19, 1944, at Roddickton to Gideon and Grace Hancock. Also, to this union was born: Fred, Willis, Stanley, Frank, Ford, Don, Winnie, Lillian, Ruby, Nancy, Jean, Barb, Dennis & Kirby.

She moved to Mount Pearl at the age of 18 and married Gorden Randell, May 25, 1962. They had one son, Jarvis, the love of her life. Then to Grand Falls where Gordon pastored and then to Birchy Bay where he continued pastoring for approximately 20 years at the Apostolic Faith Church. After the passing of her husband, she moved back home to Roddickton in 2006 and in 2010 she went to live and care for her brother Willis and moved into the Grace Sunset Cottages in May 2018, until God called her home.

She leaves to mourn: Son: Jarvis (Loretta), Grand children: Marcel (Taeevn) and Courtney (Lukas)., Great grand children: Jordan, Lemmie, Eliana, all living in South Korea., Brothers: Ford (Carol) Hancock, Dennis (Pauline) Hancock, Kirby (Bertha) Hancock and Bradley (Judy) Hancock., Sisters: Winnie Randell, Lillian (Alan) Lee, Nancy (Bruce) Burton, Jean (Clarence) Butt, Barb (George) Burton and a large circle of family and friends.

Visitation will take place Friday, January 24th - 7:00 – 9:00 PM and Saturday, January 25th – 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the Apostolic Faith Church in Roddickton with the Funeral Sunday, January 26th – 11:00 AM Pastor Michael Ivany officiating.

RANDELL, EDITH "ETTIE"

Promoted to glory on Sunday April 17th, 2022 at the Health Science Centre at the age of 96 years. Edith Randell formally of Englee.

Predeceased by her husband Roland, parents Theophilus and Delphina Canning, brothers Simon and Hurbert Canning, grandson Joey Poole, great granddaughter Nevaeh Denine, son-in-law Merrick Snow.

Leaving to mourn with cherished memories her loving children: Nita (Raymond), Patsy (Jack), Don (Ruby), George (Joan), Rosie, Olive (Joe), Frances (Gerry), Regina (Wilfred), David (Yvonne), Frank (Darlene) and Majors Randy and Lisa, her brother Warrick (Millicent), sister Anne Blanchard (The Late Leander), 26 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and a special boy Nathan.

Thank you to the staff of Cambridge Estates and 4 South HSC for the care, compassion and professionalism given to Edith during her time with them.

Private visitations are being held at the Salvation Army Church in Englee, from which the funeral service will be held at 11am on the 24th of April with Major Pelley officiating. burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Spurgeon Randell of Englee NL , son of Thomas & Florence Randell, was born in Hooping Harbour May 4th, 1933, passed away in the presence of his Lord on the 18th day of October, 2020 in his 87th year at Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony, NL. Spurgeon was a humble man and a true Christian whose values included honesty, integrity, dignity and love. He was cherished by his children, grandchildren, great, great grandchildren (who called him Pop). Some of the most special places for Surgeon was on a rock somewhere in any brook, stream, pond, or in a boat casting for salmon, trout or jigging cod. Left to mourn, with a lifetime of loving memories are sons Wayne (Verna) Randell of Englee NL, Hedley (Irene) Randell of Oromocto NB, Dixon (Kristine) Randell of Lloydminster AB, Daughters Sadie (Guy) Hopkins of Smoky Lake AB, Vivian (Keith) Kenny of Summerside PEI. Brothers Claude (Jean) Randell of Englee NL, Boyce (Alma) Randell of Englee NL, Beaton (Shirley) Randell of Corner Brook NL, Sister Ruby (Freeman-Deceased) Randell of Englee NL, As well as 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great children and a large number of relatives and friends. Spurgeon was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Florence Randell, Wife Marie Randell, the love of his life, his wife of 67 years, twin boys, daughter Linda (Grant) Cassell, Sister Ethel (Ludwick) Reid, and grandson Vincent Cassell. The going home service for Spurgeon Randell will be held at 2 pm at the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee NL 2 o clock pm on the 22nd day of October, 2020 with Pastor Michael Ivany officiating.  Burial will follow at the community cemetery following the service. passed peacefully away on October 14, 2019 at the age of 84 in St. Patrick’s Mercy Home
predeceased by parents Jonathan and Sylvia Gillard, Siblings Georgia (Richard), Stennie (Shirley), Marjorie (Vic), Mary (Joe), Raymond (Bessie), and Frank (Annie Mae), Brother in law Darius Randell (Effie). As well as her Three sons Graham, Bedford and Roger. Leaving to mourn are her Husband Norman Randell, Daughters Glenna (Dawn (Corey) and Jocelyne), Charia, Lucy (Roger) (Jason (Nicole) and Jordan), Mark (Marie) (Charlene (Jamie), Peter and Roger), and Marcel (Kaleigh), Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and great great granddaughters. Brothers John, Lloyd (Joan), Leander (Loretta), sisters Myrtle and Etta Mae (Eugene), Brother in law Alfred Tucker (Pearl); Step grandchildren, Jackie, Narina, Ian, Clarissa, as well as a large number of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation was Held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Roddickton NL, From Which the Funeral Service Took place at 11am on Friday October 18th, 2019, with Rev. Christopher Hewlett Officiating, interment followed in the community cemetery.

RANDELL, CHATFIELD

Chatfield Alemenda Randell (Chattie) February 13th, 1918- May 19th, 2017
Chattie took her heavenly flight at the age of 99 on May 19, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband Rudolph and son Clifford and is survived by children Marie(Spurgeon), Alfreda, Hazel(Ron), Clement(Doris), Meletta(Clyde), Mark(Loretta), Richard(Jean), Jean(Eugene), sisters Hetty Hempshall(Sheffield England), Nellie Humby-Roddickton along with 34 grandchildren and more than 160 great and great-great grandchildren and a large number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to being a loving, dedicated wife and mother to a large family, Chattie spent over 70 years in faithful service with the United Church of Canada as a lay reader and Sunday school teacher.
Her legacy of love and faith is a blessed gift to her family and to the lives of those she impacted throughout her long life. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday May 25th at 2pm ,with visitation on Tuesday May 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Wednesday May 24th from 2-4 pm.

Passed away into the loving arms of god at her private residence in Ottawa Ont. at the age of 67, Mrs. Betty M. Randell of Englee Newfoundland. left behind with heavy hearts are her Loving Husband Benson Randell -- Ottawa, ON., her dear children Byron (Sherrie) Randell -- Ottawa, ON., Vivian (Lorne) -- Ottawa ON., Benita Randell -- Kitchener, ON. as well as eight grand children, two great grandchildren, and a large circle of relatives and friends, all of whom will feel the loss of her presence deeply. Visitation was held the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee, from which the funeral service was held on the 14th of march, 2014 at 2:00pm with pastor George Burton and pastor Fred Randell officiating. burial followed the service in the Englee Apostolic Faith Cemetery. Passed peacefully away at the White Bay Central Health Centre on the 30th day of September 2013. Mr. Andrew Randell of Englee was in his 86th year. He leaves to mourn his wife Edna Randell, Daughters Wavey Andrews(Ted), Diana Randell, Michelle Randell(Hubert), Son Eddie Randell(Joanne), Sister Myrtle Rose, Grandchildren Jennifer Randell(Chad), Markita Randell, Joshua Randell, Great Grandchildren Mitch Randell, Riley Randell as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents john and Susanna Randell. Visitation was held at the Faith Pentecostal church followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm on the 4th of October 2013 with Pastor Sansome officiating. Internment followed at the church cemetery. Passed away peacefully on 18th of August 2013 at hte White Bay Heath Center in Roddickton. Mr. Rlaph Randell of Englee was in his 67th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Wynita Randell, His Daughter Sharon Gill(Keith Gill), Step Daughter Denise Randell, Grandchildren Ryan and Rianna Gill,  Sister Leonie Diamond, mother-in-law Hilda Canning, as well as a large circle of family and friends. Visitation was held at the Pentecostal church in Englee from which the funeral service followed at 2:00pm on the 22nd day of August 2013 with Pastor Sansome officiating.  Interment followed in the Pentecostal cemetery.
