In Loving Memory of James George Pilgrim

July 12, 1949 — November 5, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James George Pilgrim, age 75, who

left us on November 5, 2024. James was born on July 12. 1949, in Griquet, Newfoundland, to

George and Mae Pilgrim.

James was united in marriage to the love of his life, Karen Pilgrim ( St. Anthony Bight), on

October 10. 1987. Together, they built a life in Griquet, where they raised their children and

created countless cherished memories.

A proud fisherman, James spent most of his life on the water, and he was known for his

unwavering dedication to his family and community. He was a passionate Toronto Maple Leafs

fan, proudly wearing his Leafs attire. In his free time, James enjoyed playing darts, berry

picking, and trouting. He found peace and purpose in reading his Bible and praising the Lord, a

source of comfort and strength throughout his life.

James was predeceased by his parents, George and Mae Pilgrim; his brothers, Ronald and

Edward; and his sister, Christine.

Left to mourn his loss are his devoted wife, Karen; daughters, Tina. April, and Mallory; sons,

Cory. Edward, and Dillon; grandchildren, Shannah, Daniel, Alexander. Connor, Zoe. Caylee,

and Olyver; and great-grandchildren, Deacon, Kyler, and Chay.

James is also survived by his brothers, Valance and Ernest; his sisters-in-law, Sylvia. Shirley,

and Madonna; his sons-in-law, Alasdair, Bradley, and Morgan; his daughter-in-law. Lynn; as

well as a large circle of friends and extended family.

James’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace,

embraced by the love and grace of the Lord.

PILGRIM, LORNE WAYNE

It is with sad and heavy hearts that the family of Lorne Wayne Pilgrim announce his passing at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on October 15, 2021 at the age of 71 years.

Wayne; as he was best known, was born in Main Brook on May 28,1950. He was 12th of 16 children born to Ruben and Maisie Pilgrim. On May 25, 1973 he married the love of his life, Diana Reardon. Together they raised 4 children.

Wayne was known as a jack of all trades and was no stranger to fixing everything, operating equipment and helping others. He enjoyed spending time with family and socializing with friends. Until illness prevented him in recent years - he enjoyed the great outdoors, going to his cabin, out in boat and on skidoo. He was a great friend to many.

Leaving to mourn are his children Calvin, Lorne (Bev), Lynn (Justin) and Randy. 8 grandchildren: Katelyn, Emma, Abby, Noah, Kalin, Casey, Walter and Kameron.

Brothers Dennis (Alice) and Wes. Sisters Jessie, Maude, Edith, Beth (Vern) and Elsie (Herb). As well as a very large circle of neices, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends,

He is predeceased by his wife Diane, parents Maisie and Ruben, brothers Ronnie, Arch, Casper, Tony, Calvin, Bobby and Lindsay as well as sister Marie.

The family will be receiving family and friends for visitation at the Pentecostal Church in Main Brook on Monday, October 18th, 2021 from the hours of 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, October 19th at 2pm, with Pastor Skinner officiating,

Casper Roland Pilgrim was born to Maisie and Reuben Pilgrim on June 8th, 1939 in Main Brook and passed away gracefully in his home on August 8th, 2020.  He leaves to mourn his wife Isabel (Suley) who he married on April 21st, 1961, along with their six children, grand children and great grand children; Brenda Rumbolt (Wade) Children Karisa(Chad)and Jordan, Ivan Pilgrim (Claudelle) Brandon, Otto Pilgrim (Anne) Kenny(Julie), Briana, Todd Pilgrim (Brenda) Dwayne(Vennesa), Shelley, Tina, Ivan, Arnold (Sandra) Brittany, Courtney. PILGRIM, GEORGE BRAMWELL

George Bramwell Pilgrim was born November 16, 1925 to Lucy and Bramwell Pilgrim. September 11,1959 he married the love of his life Margaret Hussey. He lived in Little Brehat where he fished until 1961. He then resettled to St. Anthony and fished for a while then took up employment as night watchman at The College of the North Atlantic retiring at the age of 65. Through his life he enjoyed fishing, hunting, berry picking, gardening, playing cards, catching smelts for their cat Tigger and singing Christian Hymns. George passed away into peace on the Second of march, 2016, he Leaves to mourn Sister Maisie, sister in law Maisie (Morgan) Morgans Predeceased by His wife of 51 years Margaret, his parents, brothers Donald (Violet) Spurgeon ( Jemima), sisters Valetta (Reuben) Cull, Florrie (Abram) Richards, and brother in law Clem. Visitation was held at the Funeral home in St. Anthony, after which the funeral service was held at the St. Anthony United Church at 2:00pm on the 5th of March with Rev. Dinesh Gomes Officiating. Burial Followed in at the Fishing Point United Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral director. 

PILGRIM, STANLEY

Passed away at the John M. Gray Center on the 13th of March 2014, in his 75th year, Mr. Stanley Pilgrim of Main Brook. Stanley leaves to mourn his spouse Shirley, his daughters Alice (Glenn), Conni9e(Rodger), Belinda (Gilles), grand children Gregory (Tracey), Shawn, Ryan, Gillian, Amy. his brothers Leander (Isabella), Herman (Gladys), Mervin (Wavey), Melvin (Karen), sisters Alice (Kenneth), Drucella (Douglas), Stella (Dennis), Elsie (Alwyn), Cassie (Tom), Belinda (Brian), Triffie (Edward). Stanley lived to see the passing of his father Benjamin, mother Bessie and Daughter Bonnie.the visitation was held at the Bethel Pentecostal Church in Main brook, form which the funeral service was held on the 17th of march with pastor Reginald Skinner Officiating, burial followed in the Church cemetery in main brook. funeral arangments where entrusted to Kerry M. Passed peacefully away on the 9th day of September 2013 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Bessie Pilgrim of Main Brook was in her 94th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children  Leander(Isabella), Stanley(Shirley), Alice(Kenneth), Drucella(Douglas), Stella(Dennis), Herman(Gladys), Elsie(Alwyn), Cassie(Tom), Belinda(Brian), Mervin(Wavey), Melvin(Karen), Triffie(Edward), Margie(Yasin), Raymond(Kim), thirty-eight grandchildren, fifty-nine great grandchildren, and twenty-four great-great grandchildren, special nephew Hayward, two sisters Elizabeth Dorcas and Keziah(Fred), half brothers Fred(Elsie), San(Eliza), Roy(Priscilla), Melvin(Carol), Edgar(Shelia), half sisters Joyce, Velma(Morris) as well as many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Benjamin, granddaughters Roxanne, Rosalie, Bonnie, and Julia, grandson Clayton, Sisters Helen, Vera, and Rebecca, her parents George and Dinah (Allingham) Saunders, and half brother Havner. Visitation was held at the United Church in Main Brook form which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 12th day of September 2013 with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Passed peacefully away at White Bay Central Health Centre in Roddickton on July 21, 2013. Mr. Dorman Pilgrim of Roddickton was in his 91st year. He leaves to mourn with fond & loving memories son Frank (Magretta), daughter Joan (George), daughter-in-law Dulcie, nine Grandchildren, and 13 Great Grandchildren as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Nellie and son Donald. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral home in Roddickton, followed by funeral service took place at 2:00pm at the United Church in Roddickton with Major's Austin & Lillian Randell officiating.  Interment followed in the Salvation Army Cemetery.
