KINSELLA, GILBERT THOMAS

July 24, 1942 - March 23, 2022

Passed peacefully away March 23, 2022 at the age of 79 years, Gilbert Thomas Kinsella of St. Anthony.
Gilbert loved life and surrounding himself with family, friends, and strangers alike. He always had a treat on hand for any child that was around.
He leaves to mourn his Wife and best friend of 55 years, Mary; Children, Marilyn (Geoff), Byron (Angela), Penny, Ricky (Tracey); Grandchildren, Kris, David, Nicole, Tyrel, Candis, Ryan, Drayson, Jennine, Kelsey, Kristen, Laura, Lorne, Blake, Aiden; Great-grandchildren, Tia, Jelena, Kayden, Brooklyn, Hendrix, Ava, Sawyer, Kingstin, Lilly; Siblings, Wilfred (Jean), Albert (Ellen), Emma, Arthur (Belinda); Brothers-in-law, Tom, Lloyd (Clara), Ford (Susan) as well as large circle of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Gilbert is predeceased by his Parents, Arthur and Blanche Kinsella; In-laws, Eric and Julie Pilgrim; Daughter Lois Johnson and Son-in-law, Glenn Richards.

Public visitation to take place from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony On Sunday, March 27, 2022 and Monday, March 28, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Arthur Kinsella officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

MITCHELMORE, CURTIS LANCELOT

September 15, 1933 – March 29, 2020

Curtis passed away peacefully on March 29, 2020, in his home surrounded by his children, grandchildren and fur baby. Curtis was born in 1933 in Green Island Cove, Newfoundland to Austin and Eliza Mitchelmore.  Curtis married Naomi Mugford in 1954; together, they had 3 children and they created a loving home for their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and fur baby. He will be remembered for his work ethic and sense of humor. He leaves behind his loving Wife Naomi; children Delilah (Harold) Rose, Rebecca ( late Harvey) Mitchelmore, Wade Sr (Sarah) Mitchelmore; grandchildren Kim (Trent), Ken (Rosie), Della (Marc), Wade Jr (Marissa); great-grandchildren Trisha, Tia, Kendra, AJ, Kira, Karley, Weston and William; his best friend his fur baby, Charlee; sisters Cora Mitchelmore, Nellie (Norman) Parrill and Eliza ( late John) Parrill; and sister-in-law Marina (Albert) Applin  . He will be missed by them all. The family extends its deepest gratitude to his personal care workers Carmel, Jenette, Janet and Cindy who provided him with the best care and compassion in his last few years. We also thank the nurses, doctors and paramedics at the Strait of Belle Isle Healthcare center who helped care for and provide us with guidance during his final weeks so he was able to stay at home with his family and friends.  As per Curtis’ request cremation has been entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony. Due to the Public Health Advisory of COVID-19 no visitation or ceremony will take place at this time. A visitation and celebration of his life will take place at a later date. 

APPLIN, WILLIAM

It is with great sadness that the family of William Applin announces his sudden passing on Tuesday, March 1st, 2016 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony.  William of Eddies Cove East was in his 75th year.   He was a kind, funny man and enjoyed spending time with loved ones, playing cards and regaling tales from the past.  William was a hard working man and thoroughly enjoyed his career as a fisherman.  Some of his happiest times were those fishing with his brother and nephew.  William was an honorable man, a loyal brother, a revered uncle, a reliable friend, a cherished father and a devoted, loving husband.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.  Left to mourn with loving memories, his wife Dulcie; his girl Marvella; his son in law Ted Wells; his sisters, Irene (Lawrence) Taylor; Sybil Taylor (Scott Samson); Naomi (Hubert) Hughes; Donna (Calvin) Hughes; Edna Taylor (Michael Gibbons); Sisters in law, Rachel Applin; Hazel (Walter) Williams; Marjorie (Nicholas) Hughes, Beulah (Bruce) Coates; Laura Parrill; Rachel Parrill; Brothers in Law, John Parrill; Will Evans; Stewart (Juanita) Parrill, Wilson (Violet) Parrill, Wallace (Thamsie) Parrill; Special Nephew Derek (Susan) Applin, and his furry companion, Paddy, as well as large circle of other family and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents, William and Eliza Applin, Brothers Richard Henry; Hansel; Walter and Edmund, Sisters, Mary Elizabeth Parrill; Kizzie Evans, Brothers in law Roland Taylor; Walt Taylor; Cecil Parrill; Gordon Parrill; John (Rosie) Parrill, and Sisters in law Olga and Evelyn Parrill.  Visitation took place at St. Andrew’s Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral was held on Saturday, March 5th at 2pm with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating.  Interment followed in the Eddies Cove Cemetery. Funeral Arangments Were entrusted to Kerry M.
