CULL, GILBERT

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gilbert Cull announces his passing on November 30, 2019 at Roddickton, at the age of 78.

Gilbert was born in Roddickton to Agustus and Janette Cull on October 3rd, 1941. He was a Lumberjack of the best kind, cutting more wood than the Timber Jack could haul from him. He worked for several companies, including Bowaters, Canada Bay Lumber, Chester Dawe, and finally ending up with the Weir Brothers, where in September of 1986 he was critically injured when a tree fell on him. A very quiet and gentle man, he was dearly loved and respected by his family and community. Well known for his faithfulness and Christian values, he was an anchor to his family that could easily secure the biggest ship in the strongest gale.

He will be sadly missed by wife Victoria Cull (Weir); daughters Dorothy, Ivy (Tony), Inga (Travis), Thirza (Robert); Sons Fletcher and Tobias (Brenda); Brothers Calvin (Betty), Fremonder (Lucy), Valance (Betty) and Boyd (Elsie); Sisters Audry (Richard) and Lillian (Harold); 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by daughter Ilene, parents Agustus and Janette Cull, brother Alexander, sister Rita, daughter-in-law Roxie and son-in-law Roger.

Visitation will be held at the Calvary Pentecostal Temple on Sunday, Dec 1st from 7 to 9 PM and Monday, Dec 2nd, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Dec 3rd at 2:00 P.M, with Pastor Mark Locke officiating. Burial will follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.
