FILLIER, DAPHNE

It is with great sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of Daphne Jude (Reid) Fillier. Who passed peacefully away at Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family on August 25, 2024 at the age of 77 years. Daphne was a devoted wife, loving mother, sister, friend, grandmother and great grandmother. She treasured and embraced every moment with her family and took great pride in her role as Nan. Her days were filled with fresh air, fishing, gardening, and quiet times at the cabin. Predeceased by her loving husband Oliver, her parents Eli and Loretta May Reid and her sister Linda Penney. Left with fond and loving memories Daughters; Jackie (Sterling) and Jody (Brendan) Sons; Steve (Janice), Buck (June), Simon (Jennifer), and Angus (Stephanie) Cherished grandchildren; Mandy (Tyrone), Ashley (Owen), Samantha(Karisa), Chelsea, Tanner (Sarah), Bryden, Logan, Riley, Charlotte and Jager. Many loving brothers and sisters; Melvin (Peggy) Reid, Ford (Donna) Reid, Doyle (Irene) Reid, Guy (Nancy) Reid, Phyllis (Wayne) Lodge, Frank (Debbie) Reid, Doreen (Wilson) Osmond, Eugene (Debbie) Reid, Edna (David) Manuel, Dean Reid. As well as one special great grandson Oliver.

The family would like to express a special thanks to family and friends for all their love and support. And the amazing nurses at Charles Curtis Memorial for their kind words and loving care during her final days.

Visitation will be held at the Pentecostal Church in Roddickton on the 27th of August form 7 to 9pm. the funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday august 28th followed by burial in the community cemetery.

October 26, 1934 — October 14, 2019
passed peacefully away on October 14, 2019 at the age of 84 in St. Patrick’s Mercy Home
predeceased by parents Jonathan and Sylvia Gillard, Siblings Georgia (Richard), Stennie (Shirley), Marjorie (Vic), Mary (Joe), Raymond (Bessie), and Frank (Annie Mae), Brother in law Darius Randell (Effie). As well as her Three sons Graham, Bedford and Roger. Leaving to mourn are her Husband Norman Randell, Daughters Glenna (Dawn (Corey) and Jocelyne), Charia, Lucy (Roger) (Jason (Nicole) and Jordan), Mark (Marie) (Charlene (Jamie), Peter and Roger), and Marcel (Kaleigh), Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and great great granddaughters. Brothers John, Lloyd (Joan), Leander (Loretta), sisters Myrtle and Etta Mae (Eugene), Brother in law Alfred Tucker (Pearl); Step grandchildren, Jackie, Narina, Ian, Clarissa, as well as a large number of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation was Held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Roddickton NL, From Which the Funeral Service Took place at 11am on Friday October 18th, 2019, with Rev. Christopher Hewlett Officiating, interment followed in the community cemetery.

FILLIER - HOPKINS, MELVINA GLADYS JUILA

Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, June 6th 2017 at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, NL at 73 years of age.

She is predeceased by Husbands Stanley Fillier and Roy Hopkins, Parents Chesley and Flossie Cassell, Brother’s Harrison and David Cassell.

Left to mourn her passing with fond and loving memories are her Children; Marlene (Wayne), Derrick (Bonnie), Jackie (Dennis), Debbie (Dean), Pauline (Joshua), and Connie (Jason), eleven Grand Children, four Great Grand Children, two Sisters, two Brother’s, Nieces, Nephews, and a large circle of Family and Friends.

Public visitation will take place on Friday and Saturday, June 9th and 10th from 2-5PM and 7-9PM at Salvation Army Citadel in Englee, NL.

Funeral service will take place on Sunday, June 11th 2PM at the Salvation Army Church in Englee and the internment will take place at the Salvation Army cemetery in Englee. funeral arangments are entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Ebukwe, Funeral director.

It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Ross Eric Grenfell Fillier announce his passing on February 15, 2016 at the John M. Gray Center. He leaves to mourn to mourn with loving memories his daughters Audrey (Joe), Donna (Stan), Linda (Rafe), Gertie and Daughter-in-law Rosemary. Grandchildren Danny (Barb), Chris (Tammy), Julie (Guy), Rochelle (Andy), Cory (Shelley), Deana (Rol), Gina (Brad), Sandy (Ivan), Heather (Trevor), and Kristie, as well as Fourteen Great Grandchildren, and Three Great Great Grandchildren and a large number of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Ross was predeceased by his wife Mary, Sons Wilbourne, Albert Scott, Daughter Bonnie Lynn, Parents Albert and Lavinia Fillier, Brother Chesley and son-in-law Chris. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony after which the funeral service was held on Thursday February 18th, 2016 at 2:00pm from the Salvation Army Citadel with Major Dinzel Baggs officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director.

Passed away suddenly at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on the 12th of October, 2013 at the age of 63 Mrs. Joyce Olive Fillier, of Englee NL. Joyce leaves behind her husband Garfield Fillier, her sons Jeffery (Denna) Fillier of Englee, Craig (Cindy) Fillier of Vancouver B. C., Shawn (Darlene) Fillier of Englee, Jason (Colleen) Fillier of Cap ele NB, Damian (Robin) Fillier of Fort Macmurry, Daughters Debbie (Kevin) of Goose Bay and Paulette (Mohammed) of Alexandria Egypt, Brother Hiram (Leona) Randell of Goose Bay, Sisters Jessie Burden of Gander, Ethel (Roy) Pilgrim of Goose Bay, Mildred Campbell of Goose Bay, Alma (David) Hynes of Twillingate, and Margaret (Hubert) Burden of Goose Bay. As well as grandchildren Justin, Jenna, Jeanessa, Kerry, Robbie, Jamie, Chantal, Kendra and Cynthia, Great Grandchildren Robert, Sean, Brooklyn and Douglas and a large circle of family and friends. The visitation was held at the Salvation Army Church in Englee, from which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on Wednesday October 16, 2013 with Major Baggs Officiating. Burial followed in the Salvation Army Cemetery in Englee. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Home, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director.
