PATEY, ALLAN

Allan Patey was born in St. Lunaire on July 17, 1936 to Samuel and Beulah Patey.  On Oct 19, 1960 he married the love of his life Florence (née Humby).  They had many years’ together and raised eight children who were the apple of his eye.  He was a dedicated and loving husband of 53 years, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.  He loved to attend church and prayer meetings until his health wouldn’t allow him anymore.  He was a hard worker and he never saw his family go without anything.  He was a fisherman until the moratorium and also a carpenter.  He helped to build churches in St. Lunaire-Griquet and Red Bay, Labrador, schools, wharfs, a bank and Norstead. He volunteered as head usher, a grave digger, a member of the fishermen’s committee and St. Lunaire Harbour Authority.  Allan enjoyed snowshoe making, going out for evening rides and he loved telling and playing jokes. He loved telling stories and cherished spending time with his family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was a man who would lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  Allan passed peacefully into the presence of his loving heavenly father on February 6th where he was reunited with his loving wife and loving parents and other family members.  

Left with many great and loving memories are his children Wanda (Jim) Eddison, Samuel (Audrey), William (Mary), Carol-Lynn (Tommy) Doran, Peggy-Ann (Morris) Curlew, Larraine (Teena), Valda (Glenn) Peddle, and Cory (Crystal).  Grandchildren Allan (Jocelyn), Evelyn (Brad), Shawn (Sara), Jeremy (Vanessa), Justin (Paislee), Jonathan (Vanessa), Brittany (Michael), Nicholas and Kian.  Great-Grandchildren Alexa, Braydon, Jaxon, Sasha, Griffin, Joey, Saskia, Landon, Alyssa, Jessa, Aleah, and Charlotte.  Sisters Beryl and Minnie, brother Noah, sister in law Joy, and many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife Florence, loving parents Samuel and Beulah, great Granddaughter Kayla, sisters Violet and Ivy, brother Leslie.  Father and mother in law Joseph and Jessie Humby and a number of in-laws.  Funeral service which was held at 2:00 pm on Friday February 11th, with Pastor Bill Harnum officiating.  Interment followed in the church cemetery.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

TUCKER, ALLAN ROY

Passed away peacefully surrounded by Family at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, Mr. Allan Roy Tucker of Quirpon NL, in his 79th year. Left behind to mourn his loss are his beloved wife of 53 years Linda, his Children Deon Kelloway (Christa), Dereck Tucker (Jennifer) and Debbie Humby (Chris); his Brothers Levi (Nina - Deceased), Roland (Minnie), Les (Millicent), Carl (Joyce), Wilburt (Irene), Sister Pearl Earl (Herb), Brothers Alwin (Millicent) and Gary (Marion); his grandchildren Charlie, Morgan, Megan, Jack, Sam, and his Great Great Grandchildren Logan, Brooke, Brittney and Anwen. Roy was predeceased by his parents Arch and Aurelia and tragically, his grandson David. A celebration of Roy’s life will be held by the family at a later date, after which burial will take place at the Quirpon Community Cemetery in Quirpon NL.

BURDEN, ALLAN GEORGE

Passed peacefully away on the 22nd of August 2013c at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital. Mr. Allan George Burden of St. Lunaire-Griquet was in his 68th year. He leaves to  mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Shirley, Son Paul (Lillian), Daughters Cleo (Paul) Tracey (Sheldon), Thresa (Kevin), Trudy(Randy), ten grandchildren Jeffrey, April, Clarissa, Dylan, Danielle, Braydon, Alexander, Mackenzie, Summer Lee, Jonah, two great grandchildren Victoria, Jaxon, one brother and five sisters as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his Parents Hazel and Harrison Burden, Brothers Ralph, Hayward, Roland. Visitation was held at the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in Griquet from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 25th day of August 2013 with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

ROBERTS, BERNARD ALLAN

 Passed peacefully away at his home in Ship Cove on Nov. 3, 2012, Mr. Bernard Allan Roberts in his 75th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Vina; sons Terry (Dorcas), Barry (Merle), and Wade (Angela); daughters Bernette (Cyril), Marion (Gary), Lisa, and Diane (Neil); Brother Raymond; sisters Dorothy, Maisie (Mike) and Leonie (Kevin); 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and many special family and friends.  He was predeceased by his daughter Beverly Phobie and parents Keywood and Amelia Roberts. Visitation is being held at the United Church in Ship Cove and will be followed by funeral at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7th, 2012 with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
