BYRNE, WILFRED JOSEPH

October 10, 1950—March 31, 2023

Passed at the Health Science Center in St. Johns, NL, on March 31, 2023 at the age of 72 years. Wilfred Joseph Byrne was born October 10, 1950 to Rita and Ambrose Byrne of Conche, NL. On August 22,1975 he married the love of his life, Marie Alice Powell of Goose Cove and together they had 2 children Shelley and Christopher. He had 4 grandchildren.

Wilf enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved hunting, fishing and having morning coffee and chat with his friends. He will be greatly missed by all.

He leaves to mourn with loving memories, his Wife, Marie; daughter: Shelley (Melissa); daughter-in-law: Danielle; Grandchildren: Tyler, Caleb, Calleigh, and Emilia; Siblings: Angela (Ron), Loretta (Boyd), Ron (Sheila), Shirley (Jeromy), Gerard (Debbie), Linda (Dan), Cyril (Beth), Imelda, Ambrose, Regina (Shawn), As well as a long list of nieces and nephews, family and friends

Wilf is predeceased by parents: Rita and Ambrose Byrne; his Son: Christopher Byrne; Parents-In-Law’s: Hedley and Mary Powell; In Laws: Norm , Phyllis , Judy (Clyde), Patricia ( John), Olive (Chris), Marina (Mike), Roxanne (Darrell), Derrick (Bonnie)

The funeral mass took place on April 6, 2023 from the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Goose Cove with Fr. George officiating. Interment followed.

Wilfred Genge Jr. was born in St. Anthony, NL on May 31st 1972 to Wilfred and Olive Genge. He married his Wife, Trista in 2007 and had two Children, Landon and Averie Genge. Wilfred went to work fishing with his dad for many years. Later in life we made a career change to the oil industry where he met many lifelong friends. His children were his pride and joy, and days off were always spent with his family. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his Wife, Trista; Son, Landon; Daughter, Averie; Father, Wilfred Genge Sr.; Mother-in-law, Edna Genge; Father-in-law Roland Genge; Sisters, Trudy (Michael), Effie (Ernest), Connie (Shawn); Brother-in-law, Travis (Stacie), as well as Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Friends and Colleagues. Wilfred was predeceased by his Mother, Olive Genge; Grandparents, William and Kathleen Genge, and Jospeh and Agnes Genge. A private viewing and service was held on Friday, March 5, 2021 with Deacon Short officiating. Cremation to follow. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. RICHARDS, WILFRED JOB

May 7, 1931 – January 18, 2020

Wilfred, a kind-hearted, gentle, hardworking man who was well loved by family and all who knew him. He was born to Clement and Gertrude Richards on May 7, 1931. He married Emma, the love of his life on July 22, 1955 and together they raised five children who were the apple of his eye. Throughout his life he was a fisherman, truck driver, forestry ranger, a carpenter and a businessman. Out of all of those jobs not one could compare to his love of the work he did for his church. A wonderful, loving, kind man, with a heart of gold who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered. He leaves to mourn, his loving wife of 64 years, Emma; Children, Lillian (Raymond), Clem (Gloria), Loretta (Whyman), Letty (Joe), and Louise (Paul); Grandchildren, Trevor (Glenda), Mark (Jillienne), Billy (Genista), Davin (Samantha), Sarah, Zachery; Brother, Max (Bertha); Great grandchildren, Abby, Owen, William, Mya, Adaline, Harper, Scarlett; a large circle of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Clement and Gertrude Richards, Mother-in-law Daisy Pilgrim, Sister Blanche Kinsella, and Brother-in-law Arthur Kinsella. Visitation was held from Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony until the funeral on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 2:00 pm from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Deacon Arthur Kinsella officiating. NOBLE, WILFRED JAMES

September 11, 1944 - March 27, 2019

Passed peacefully away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in his 74th year, Wilfred James Noble of St. Anthony on March 27, 2019. Born in St. Anthony on September 11, 1944 to Pearce and Bertha Noble of Great Brehat; Wilfred was the first of 7 children. After finishing high school Wilf met the love of his life, Selma Bussey, at a hockey game. They were wed on December 20th, 1967 and shared 52 wonderful years together. Some time after marriage, Wilf and Selma were blessed with two beautiful daughters; Adella and Lisa. Family was the highlight of Wilf’s life but he also loved berry picking, fishing, hunting, and his dog- Pop’s Girl- Coco. Wilf fished all his life but finishing his fishing career with a 16 year stint his brother-in-law Eric in 1992. He was a jack of all trades who instilled values of hard work, selflessness, and independence of his family and friends. He was, and is, deeply loved and fondly mourned. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his Wife, Selma; Daughters, Adella (Derek) Sweet, Lisa; Grandchildren, Rebecca, Gregory, Brandon, Bailey; Great-granddaughter, Annabelle; Mother, Bertha; Sisters, Doris (Eric), Audrey (Sterling), Pansy (Monty), Patsy (Dwayne), Dennis (Kristen) as well as a large circle of family and friends. Wilf was predeceased by his father, Pearce and Brother, Boyce. Visitation to take place from the Pentecostal Church in St. Anthony on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 3-4 pm and 7-9 pm and will continue on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 2-4 pm with the family and friends service taking place from 7-9 pm. TUCKER, WILFRED LEONARD

July 21, 1939- August 26-2018

In the arms of his loving family, Wilfred passed away on August 26 at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, in St. John's. In December 1956, at the young age of 17, Wilfred joined the Royal Canadian Artillery and was based in Shilo, Manitoba. His second year would see him deployed to Germany with Nato. Upon his return, he spent some time fishing and working as a deckhand aboard the Scientific Exploration Ship, Theron. He also spent some time guiding the American Hunters in central Newfoundland. Wilfred spent the next 15 years employed with James W. Patey Plumbing and Heating in St. Anthony, before being employed with the Corp of Commissioners. Wilfred was based in airports, St. Anthony and St. John's until his retirement in 2001. During his working career he was also a volunteer with the Canadian Forces Reserves (Ranger) for 12 years. He leaves to mourn his wife of 51 years, Mabel. Their children; Mona (Junior), Maxine (Rodney), Kevin (Kelly), Kenneth (Jeanette) and Bonnie (Darren). Grandchildren; Tyler (Mindy), Jeremy (Michelle), Olivia, D'marco, Kayla (Rod), Kendall, Katie, Deven and Brianna. Great Grandchildren; Lyla and Colton. Brother Selby (Delilah), and Sister Mamie. Also leaving to mourn extended family and a large circle of friends who will miss his stories, kindness, and humour. Predeceased by his parents Kenneth & Elizabeth Tucker, half-sister Verdie (Tom) & half-brother Roderick. Brothers, Wilson (Jessie), Valen (Daisy) & Carl (Millicent) and brother-in-law Newton Morgan (Mamie).Visitation was held from the United Church in Ship Cove from where the funeral service was held on Thursday, August 30th, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. ROBERTS, ISAAC WILFRED

Wilfred Roberts was born in Hampden to Charles and Bertha (Elms).  His parents moved to Quirpon within a year of his birth.  When Wilfred was young, his mother died and he went to live with his older cousin Esther and her husband Charles Rice who raised him. On December 21, 1951 he married Evelyn Taylor of Raleigh.  They made their home in Quirpon raising their 6 children.  In 1972 they moved to St. Anthony as he worked with the Department of Highways.  After retirement they enjoyed time with their family, their cabins and gardens and attending The St. Anthony United Church.  On the morning of the 25th of February, 2016, Wilfred passed peacefully away.  He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn, children Marie (Ralph), Cecil (Jessie), Stafford (Patricia), Wavey (Dean), Keith (Marie), Kevin (Debbie), 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  He is also survived by his brother George, many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation was held at The funeral home in St. Anthony, After Which the funeral service took place at the St. Anthony United Church at 2:00pm on the 28th of February with Rev. Dinesh Gomes and Rev. John McGonigle officiating. burial followed in the Com unity Cemetery in Quirpon. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. PYNN, WILFRED

Passed peaceuflly away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on July 22, 2014 Mr. Wilfred Pynn, of Quirpon, at the age of 79. predeceased by his wife Margaret, son in law Jim wells, sisters Martha, Mary , Stella, Tamar, Francis, Dorothy and brother Alfred. eft to mourn with fond and loving memories are daughters Dale Wells, Sandra (Tony Blake) and Yvonne (Randy Gulliver), grandchildren Angela (Phillip) Noland (Tennell), Natalie (Damien), Neland (Christine), Steven (Brittany), Jason, Jill (Doug) and Amanda. great Grandchildren Jane,Owen, Emma, Claire and Ava and Madi. 2 sisters Rose (Dorm Andrson) and Vii (George Allan). Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral home in St. Anthony after which the Funeral service was held on July  25th at 2:00pm with Rev. Findlay officiating cremation and burial followed the funeral service at the old Anglican cemetery in St. Anthony, on Monday July 28th. funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. COOMBS, WILFRED W. “BILL”

Reef’s Harbour

July 12, 1964 – Aug. 22, 2013

In the early morning hours of Aug. 22, 2013, following a brief struggle with cancer, Bill was called home by his heavenly father and reunited with his earthy father, Wilfred Coombs. He leaves behind his life-mate Gloria Tucker; mother Ruby Coombs; brother John (Vonnie); father-in-law Harold Tucker Sr.; brothers-in-law Harold G. (Fanny) Tucker and Dean Tucker; nephews Jamie (Shelley), and Boyd (Heidi); and great-nieces Alexis Tucker, Anna Tucker, Alyson Caines and Aria Tucker. Bill also leaves behind a large family of aunts, uncles and cousins and a huge circle of friends. Bill made a big impact on the many health-care professionals who got to know him during his illness and they have joined his circle of friends. He was predeceased by his father Wilfred.
