WILCOX, BEATRICE

December 15, 1924 - April 9, 2022

was born in Englee, NL on December 15th, 1924 to Reuben and Harriet Hopkins. She gave her heart to the Lord at a very a young age. She married William Wilcox of Englee on December 12, 1940. Together they had 6 girls' and 2 boys and adopted 1 girl. Beatrice was a very hard worker as a housewife and mother, and only worked outside the home for a very short time at the Englee fish plant. In 2007 she moved to Roddickton, NL with her husband where the lived with their daughter, Patsy. Her husband passed away on November 17, 2008 and she stayed with Patsy until she moved to the Roddickton House in 2016. She then moved to the John M Gray Center in St. Anthony for the last few months of her life where she passed peacefully away on April 9, 2022.
She leaves to mourn her Son, James (Gwen) Wilcox; Son-in-law, Paul Healey; Daughters, Mae Adams, Jean (Claude) Randell, Louise Canning, Melina Randell, Patsy Weir, Roselle Wilcox; Sister, Marie Hancock, 23 grandchildren, 27 greatgrandchildren, 23 great-greatgrandchildren as well as a large circle of family and friends.
She is predeceased by her Husband, William Wilcox; Son, Kevin Wilcox; Daughter, Belinda Healey; Grandchildren, Shawn Randell, Andre Wilcox, Mark Wilcox; Sons-in-law, James Adams, Harrison Canning, Fred Randell, Garland Weir; Daughters-in-law, Wanda Wilcox, Debbie Wilcox.
Visitation to take place from the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee from where the funeral will take place on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Pastor George Burton officiating. Interment to follow.

July 8, 1941 – May 26, 2020 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father and husband, Melvin Wilcox on May 26, 2020 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 78 years. Melvin loved his family and loved helping and providing services to others. He faithfully served as an usher at his church. Nobody was a stranger. He was well liked and respected by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his Wife, Celie; Children, Valda (Raymond), Morris (Darlene), Benson (Philomena), Dinna, Linda (Edward), Eddie (Kerry), Bradley; Brother, George (Kelly); Grandchildren, Jacob, April, Kayla, Jamie, Brandon, Philip, Ryan, Samantha; Greatgrandchildren, Dakota, Desiree, Deacon, Elena, Broady, Tayshaun, Brentley, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He is predeceased by Wife, Evelyn; Parents, Solomon and Elsie Wilcox; Sisters, Vernetta; Brother-in-law, Randolph Welcher; and Grandson Dillon. The funeral service took place on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 11:00 am from the Aposotlic Faith Church in Roddickton, with Pastor Hewlett officiating. Interment followed. WILCOX, KEVIN

William George Kevin Wilcox September 15th, 1954 – January 6th, 2020 It is with great sadness that the family of Kevin Wilcox announce his passing at the Dr. Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, NL on Monday; January 6th, 2020 at the age of 65 years. Kevin Wilcox was born on September 15th, 1954 in Englee, Newfoundland to William and Beatrice Wilcox. Kevin was a hard worker and worked with the Town of Englee for a number of years and held the position of Fire Chief for a term. He also worked for the sawmill in Roddickton until he went back to school in St Anthony, and from there moved to Goose Bay in 2006 at which time he completed a welding course. He finished his career with Frenchie’s Outdoor Shop in Goose Bay when his ongoing battle with cancer prevented him from working any longer. Kevin was well known for his passion for motorcycles and his wife Debbie would joke with him that he thought more about his bike than he did her. He enjoyed salmon fishing and being out in nature whether on the highway on his motorcycle, or on the river with his fly rod. Kevin enjoyed being with people and would joke and carry on with the people he came in contact with. Kevin was loved and cherished by his wife Debbie and will be missed by his children. After a 9-year battle with cancer, on January 6th, 2020, Kevin passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord. Public visitation will be 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm – Wednesday Jan 8th & Thursday Jan 9th. Funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan 10th at 2:00 P.M, with Pastor Mark Locke & Pastor Wayne Noble officiating. Burial will follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Passed away on April 26th, 2018 from St. Claire’s Mercy Hospital in St. Johns at the age of 67 years. He leaves to cherish memories, his Mother, Viola Wilcox; Common Law Spouse, Diane Jenkins; Sons, Roddick (Jennifer) Wilcox, Roger Wilcox (Samantha Canning), Tadd Jenkins (Felicia Cull); Daughters, Trena Jenkins (Alvin Bennett), Tina Jenkins, Lisa Wilcox, Connie Wilcox, Karen Brenton; Brothers, Winston (Judy( Wilcox, Leander Wilcox; Sisters, Priscilla (Michael) Magee, Ruby (Darby) Parsons, Belinda (Kirby) Newman; Angela (Hank) Dean; 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Raymond was predeceased by his son, Rene Jenkins, and father, Harvey John Wilcox. Visitation was held from the Apostolic Faith Church in Roddickton, from where the funeral was held on Tuesday, May 1st, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Christopher Hewlett officiating. Interment followed. Passed Away into peace on December 11th, 2014 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial, Mrs. Evelyn Wavey Wilcox of Roddickton in her 67th year. Evelyn leaves to mourn, her husband Melvin (Roddickton), Sons Morris & Darlene Wilcox (Roddickton), Benson & Philomena Wilcox (Main Brook), Eddie & Pearl Wilcox (Grand Falls), Bradley Wilcox (Grande Prairie, AB). Daughters Valda & Raymond Hancock (Roddickton), Dina Hancock (Roddickton), Linda and Edward Hancock (Roddickton) sister Susie Hancock (Roddickton), as well as 14 Grand children, 3 Great grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Roddickton, From which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Sunday December 14th with rev. Christopher R. Passed peacefully away at the Rufus Guinchard Health Canter on the 11th day of October 2014. Ms. Mary Emma Wilcox of Roddickton was in her 57th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her Daughter Patti Canning, Son-in-Law Barry Canning, Family Members Augustus, Matilda, Melissa, Valance and families, Tyson(Caryn and Brett)-Goose Bay, NL; Jason(Candace, James, Arrick, Kiyerria) – Devon, AB; as well as a large circle of friends. She was predeceased by her Mother Ethel Hancock, Her Father Shem Hancock and her twin sister Minnie Hancock. Visitation was held at the Calvary Pentecostal Temple in Roddickton on October 14th, 2014 from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on 15th day of October 2014 with Pastor Benjamin Brown officiating.
