Born in Thompson, Manitoba to Melvin and Sandy Weir on June 6th, 1985, Crystal Weir passed on October 2nd, 2018 at the age of 33 years. She is survived by her two children, DJ and Destiny. Crystal loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, and time with her family. She was an LPN and Graduated from the College of the North Atlantic in 2012. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her two children, DJ and Destiny; Husband, Dexter Fillier; Father, Melvin Weir (Agnes); Brothers, Chris, Tyrone, Steven, and Michael; Nieces, Abbie, Audie, Allie; Special Aunt and Friend Cindy, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Crystal is predeceased by her mother, Sandra Stillar-McCall; Grandparents Jim and Edna Stillar, and Maxwell and Ester Weir. Visitation was held from the Calvary Pentecostal Temple in Roddickton from where the funeral took place on Tuesday, October 9th, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Brown officiating. PENNEY, MARIE EMMA
May 26, 1944 – August 1, 2018
On August 1, 2018, Marie passed into the presence of the Lord. Marie was born on May 26th, 1944 to parents Fletcher and Myrtle Weir of Roddickton, NL. After finishing school Marie accepted a job as a Nurse’s Aide with the Roddickton Health Clinic. Marie met the love of her life, Daniel Hodge, in 1963 and married that same year. Marie and Daniel were blessed with 5 children; one boy, Perry, and 4 Girls, Patty, Bonnie, Connie, and Joanne. In 1994 Marie’s Husband, Daniel Hodge, passed into the presence of the One that he loved and served. Then, in 1999 Marie met and married George Penney from Port Hope Simpson, Labrador and she was blessed to have inherited two stepsons (spouses) and 5 stepdaughters (spouses) and grandchildren. Marie and George lived in St. Lunaire-Griquet for a year and then moved to Roddickton where they lived together until her untimely passing. Marie leaves to mourn her Husband, George Penney; Daughter, Pastor Bonnie Hodge – Edmonton, AB; Sisters, Victoria (Gilbert), Madonna (Murray), Glenda (Chris) – Thompson, MB; Brother Pleman; 2 granddaughters, Samantha (Dale) – Ft. Mcmurray, AB, Stephanie (Matt) – Ft. Mcmurray, AB; 2 Great-granddaughters Makayli – Edmonton, Cecilia – Ft. Mcmurray; 1 Great-grandson, Zackary – Ft. Mcmurray, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Marie was predeceased by her first Husband, Daniel Hodge, 4 Children; Perry, Patty, Joanne, and Connie; her parents Fletcher and Myrtle Weir; Brothers Alfred, Kevin, Garland and her Sister Jennie.
WEIR, GARLAND WILSON
Passed away into peaceful rest at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in St. Johns on the 14th of October2013 after a struggle with illness, Mr. Garland Wilson Weir of Roddickton in his 67th year. Garland leaves behind with a lifetime of loving memories his wife of 37 years Patricia, his son David (Annie-Mae), Daughter Helga (Scott Parsons), grandson Jordan Weir, Granddaughter Amber Weir, Four sisters and One Brother. The Visitation was held at the Calvary Pentecostal Temple in Roddickton, from which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on the Saturday October 19, 2013 with pastor G. B. Pinksen officiating. Burial followed the funeral service in the Roddickton Pentecostal cemetery. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Home Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director.
