WARD, JOHANNA MARY

It is with great sadness that the family of Johanna Ward announce her passing on Friday, January 12th, 2018 with her family by her side at the John M Gray Centre in St. Anthony at the age of 87 years. She leaves to mourn with a lifetime of memories her Children, Gerard (Jean), Cyril (Judy), Clara, Jerome (Shirley), Edmund, Ray, Clarence (Trena), Alice (Keith), Wayne, Clyde, Carl, Dale, Melissa (David); Daughter in law Joyce; 18 Grandchildren; 11 Great-grandchildren; Brother Patrick (Joan), William (Lydia); Sisters Annie (Clyde), Gertrude (Ike); Alice (Austin), and Marie; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her Husband Felix; infant son Ronald; son William (Bill); Son-in-law Wallace Cull; Parents Michael and Alice Alyward; and Sister Isabella. Visitation was held from Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony until the funeral on Tuesday, January 16th, 2018 at 10:30 AM from the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Goose Cove with Fr. George Officiating. Interment followed in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Goose Cove. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

WARD, GEORGE ERNEST

Passed away suddenly, but peacefully, on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s, NL at the age of 86 years– George Ernest Ward of St. Anthony, NL. He is now re-united with his loving wife Caroline (April 18, 2004). Left with cherished memories are his daughters Leona (Pat McGuire) Paradise, NL and Sharon (Paul Gosse) Torbay, NL.; granddaughters Denee Stokes, Fort MacMurray, AB and Jillian McGuire, Paradise;  great-granddaughters Mackenzie, Raisa and Jamie Stokes, Fort MacMurray, AB;  sisters, Marie Blake, Doris Calloway (Wilson), Jessie Ward and Ella Michelin; sisters in law Ethel Ward, Sara Winsor (John), Violet Richards, Naomi Colbourne, brother in law Heber Colbourne (Thelma); family friend, Anna Gosse and many nieces, nephews, cousins and valued friends. He was also predeceased by hisWife Caroline, parents Alice and Henry Ward, Brother Wallace and Sister Mary Lyall.  In addition to being caring and dedicated to his family, he was a faithful, life-long member of the Loyal Orange Lodge 126 and Royal Black Preceptor 1048. He also loved fishing, berry picking and spending time at his cabin. Visitation was held from Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony on Friday, June 23, 2017 and Saturday, June 24, 2017 until the funeral on Sunday June 25, 2017 from the St. Anthony United Church with Rev. John Maich officiating. Interment followed in the Fishing Point United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillare’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Ebukwe funeral director.

WARD, WILBERT (BILL) ANTHONY

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony after a heroic battle with illness, Mr. Wilbert (Bill) Anthony Ward, in his 53rd year. Bill leaves behind hes dear wife Joyce, his son Tyler, daughters Robbi-lyn (Sheldon), Hillary (Adam), his mother Johanna, brothers Gerard (Jeanie), Cyril (Judy), Jerome (Shirley), Ed, Ray, Clarence (Trina), Wayne, Clyde, Carl, Dale, Sisters Clara (Allan), Alice (Keith), Lisa (Dave), as well as a vary large circle of family and friends. while not advanced in years, bill still lived to see the loss of his father Felix, brother Ron and Mother in law Carmel. Visitation was held at the Funeral home in St. Anthony, followed by the funeral service, which took place at the Church of the immaculate Conception in Goose Cove at 2:00pm on Wednesday September 10th with Farther Vitus Echedo officiating.
