PATEY, WALLACE CLYDE

June 10, 1933 - December 28, 2022

Clyde Patey was born on June 10, 1933 at St. Anthony Bight, NL. He passed away December 28, 2022.

Through his life he held several different jobs, mostly in Montreal. Upon retirement he returned back to his roots.

Clyde was a person who enjoyed the outdoor, whether it was fishing at St. Carol’s Pond or riding his bike long distances with great determination.

He will be remembered for his vibrant personality and smile.

He leaves to mourn, his Sister: Greta Mozeleski; Special Niece: Cynthia Simms (David); Niece: Greta Stephenson (John); Nephew: Leighton Patey (Bernice), as well as other extended family and friends.

Clyde is predeceased by his Parents: Beulah and Richard Patey; Brother: Vaze Patey; Sisters: Stella Patey and Leah Gunn.

Visitation to take place from the Salvation Army Citadel in St. Anthony on the evening of Friday, December 30, 2022 from 7-9 pm. The funeral will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 31, 2022 with Major Anthony Stokes and Major Beverly Dart Stokes officiating. Cremation to follow.

DREDGE, WALLACE

January 27, 1936 - October 6, 2022

Wallace Dredge, Age 86, passed away peacefully at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony surrounded by his loved ones. Wallace was born to Walter and Maria Dredge on January 27th, 1936. He married the love of his life, Marion Dredge on October 26th, 1967. Together the loving couple raised their 4 children in Black Duck Cove in the home he built for his family. Wallace was a very hard worker all his life who wanted to provide the best possible life for his family. Wallace always enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting wood, playing cards and his daily runs to watch the ferry in St. Barbe.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Marion; Children, June, Wayne (Jackie), Lena (Jake), Norman (Deborah); grandchildren, Travis, Philip, Dustin, Mackenzie, Cole, Madison, Cruz, Cade; Greatgrandchildren, Liam and Layla; Brother, Donald (Ruby); Sister, Jocelyn (Walter) as well as his home care workers, Darlene O’Brien and Tracey Humber, along with a large circle of loving family and friends.

Wallace is predeceased by his parents, Walter and Maria; Brothers, George (Virginia); Sisters, Enid (Raymond), Vivian (Ross), Chritanna (Calvin), and Blanche.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony as well as the staff on the 2nd floor for their invaluable and phenomenal work.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation to take place from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove beginning the afternoon of Tuesday, October 11, 2022 and will continue until the funeral at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 with Rev Coates officiating. Interment to follow.

COOMBS, CHESLEY WALLACE

Chesley Wallace Coombs was born in Newfoundland and Labrador, and Lived alongside his parents, siblings and friends for many years. At a young age, Chesley moved away form home to work in Alberta, where he enjoyed a life long career as a renowned welder and brother with the boiler makers union for over 15 years.

Chesley Passed away into peace on the 31st day of July, 2022 at the age of 64 years after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. he was surrounded by loved ones whom will strive to honour his memory and life.

Chesley will always be lovingly remembered by; the mother of his children Margaret Lavery, Sons Bradley and David, Daughters Sandra and Lisa, brothers Percy Coombs, William Coombs and Clifford (Leona), sisters Vermeta J. Coombs (Winston), Matilda J. Coombs( Hiram), Nancy Ann Diamond (Ralph), Elizabeth House (Dean), Nephews and Nieces ; Medina Genge (Toma), Daris Coombs, Gavin Coombs, Edna Diamond, Curtis Diamond and Benjamin Coombs.

Chesley was Predeceased by his mother Elva Joyce Coombs and Father George William Coombs.

Visitation and a family service will be held at the Church of the Advent in Plum Point on the evening of the 11th of August, 2022, From which the funeral service will be held at 1pm on the 12th of August, 2022 with the Rev. Terry Coates officiating, Burial will follow in the Anglican Community Cemetery at Pond Cove Branch.

The Family of Wallace Cunard Sr. is saddened to announce his passing on June 30, 2020 at the age of 78 years and Rita Cunard’s passing on April 14,2022 at the age of 75 years.

They will forever be remembered by their sons Wally (Diane) and Dion (Nadine); Grandchildren Keegan (Ashlee) Courtney (Blayne) and Shinarah (Aaron); Great-grandchildren Denver, Ryder & Courtlynn. As well as their many brothers and sisters. They were predeceased by their son Jarvis Cunard.

Passed peacefully away on February 25, 2019 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in the presence of his family, Wallace Davis, Sr. of St. Anthony, NL in his 92nd year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his beloved wife Grace (nee Carpenter) of 64 years; children, Wally (Una) and Brenda (Kevin); Grandchildren Michael, Brian (Jennifer), David, and Aaron (Jamie); Sister Greta Ollerhead; Brother-in-law Bill Carpenter (Ruby) and a wide circle of family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Ellis and Agnes Davis; Sister Josie Elms; Brother Harold Davis; Brother-in-laws Bill Ollerhead and Raymond Elms; Sister-in-laws Olive Davis and Pearl Anderson. DEMPSTER, WALLACE MANOAH WILLIAM

Wallace Dempster, 73, of Nameless Cove passed away at Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony on October 5th, 2016. Wallace had made the Ivy Durley Place his home for the past few months, where he soon made friends with the residents and staff. He was looking forward to spending the winter there with them. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children Shawn (Connie), Shona (Amos), and his three grandchildren Kyle, Kendall, and Laci. He is predeceased by his wife Ellen, parents Maude & Richard, two brothers Baxter and Dudley, and two sisters Irene and Margaret. Visitation was held at the Gospel Hall in Nameless Cove from where the funeral took place on October 8, 2016 with Eddie Barney and Edward Dredge officiating with internment following. DIAMOND, LENORA PEARL GAYE

Lenora Pearl Gaye (Colbourne) Diamond was born to Ferdinand and Stella (Budden) Colbourne of Little Brehat on July 15, 1945. When she was 10 years old she and her family moved to St. Anthony where she continued her schooling. Gaye took up employment at the Bank of Nova Scotia for a few years and she met and married the love of her life Calvin Diamond in 1967.  They had four children together. After the kids were all in school, Gaye went to work for Canada Post where she proudly worked for 19 years retiring in 2005. She enjoyed a wonderful life with Calvin raising their family. Gaye enjoyed to the fullest being at the cabin, cooking for family and friends, spending time with her grandchildren, and in her spare time she would love to play bingo, knit, read and play cards or scrabble.  Left with a life time of loving memories are her Husband Calvin, her children Darren (Shawna), Duane (Allison), Dean (Krista) and Lynn (Travis), nine grandchildren: Cara, Michelle (Darren), Mark, Paul (Duane), Danielle, Jenna, Sarah (Dean), Grant and Hannah (Lynn), sister Lois (Roger), niece Krysta (Travis), sister-in-law Dot, nephews Steve (Brenda) and Tom (Glenda), Brother-in-law Marvin (Edna), nephews Michael and Brent. She also leaves a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Calvin’s parents, and her brother Wayne.  Visitation was held at The Funeral Home in St. Anthony, after which the funeral service was held at the united church in St. Anthony at 2:00pm on Friday, October 9th 2015 with Rev. Gus Pendelton officiating. Burial followed the service at the Fishing Point United Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. GILLARD, FLORA CHRISTINA

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family, at the age of 93, on September 8, 2015. Christina was born in Canada Harbour, NL to Robert and Eliza (nee Gale) Edgar on March 20, 1922. She was the last surviving member of her family, being predeceased by siblings Jessie (James), Dulcie (Stewart), Edith (Donald), Mary (Ross), Beatrice (Cecil), Joseph (Pauline) and Alma (Kenneth). Christina was also predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert L. Gillard (1987) and son-in-law, Calvin Newman. She will be greatly missed by her children: Maxine (Frank), Robert E. (Margaret), Diana (Calvin), Reta (Guy), Helga (Hoodie) and Douglas (Brenda); grandchildren: Vanessa, Treena, Dana, Robert, Kathryn, Jonathan, Karen, Amanda, Heather, Didi and Lance, André and Melanie (and their mother, Mona); 13 great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the Resident Care Manager - Rod Hayward, the Rev. Elsie Squires, Dr. Chehadi Kareem, the medical staff and the caregivers at Masonic Park Nursing Home for the exceptional care they provided with compassion and dignity during Christina’s passing. RANDELL, NAOMI

Naomi Randell, age 92 was born in Williamsport NL Dec 16, 1922. She passed peacefully away Friday Feb 6th, 2015 at The Angus Pratt Nursing Home in St. John's, NL.  Leaving to mourn her beloved children Freeman Randell, Eileen Evans (Dave), Scott Randell (Rae), Grant Randell (Bonetta) & Dean Randell (Debbie); her beloved grandchildren Ingrid Evans (Dave), Timothy Randell & Brett Gillard; Brother-in law Rueben Randell (Nellie); Nephew Craig Randell & Niece Karen Hann (Shane); along with a wide circle of family and friends. .   Predeceased by her husband Timothy Randell & Daughter Bernice Randell. Visitation was held at the United Church in Englee from which the funeral service took place on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 2:00pm. Interment followed at the New United Church Cemetery. SIMMS, EMMA BERYL

Emma Beryl Colbourne was born in St. Anthony, on March 29, 1931. She worked as a nurse's aide at IGA prior to becoming a wife and mother. Beryl enjoyed many outdoor activities with her husband and children and in later years cherished spending time with her grandchildren. She loved bingo games with her friends, cooking for everyone, and tending to her flower garden. She remained witty throughout her long life. Beryl Passed into peace on May 26, 2014  at the John M. Gray Center in St. Anthony in her 83rd year, she will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed. She leaves to mourn her children, Barb (Sam), Beattie (Cathy), Bradley (Jennifer). Grandchildren: Tara, Michael, Amanda, Samantha, Alana, Alexander and Nikita. Great grandchildren: Eli, Simon, Cynthia, Maddison, McKenna, Taylor, Alexa. Siblings: Sister Marjorie, Brothers Bill, Bruce, Allan, and Morgan. Also a large circle of extended family and friends.  She was predeceased by her husband Alex, parents, Frederick and Jane Colbourne,  daughter Pamela (Bob), sisters Florence, Irene, and brother Edward. visitation took place at the funeral home, followed the funeral service at 2:00pm on May 29th, 2014 at the st.
