Whitfield Pilgrim was born on March 21, 1946 to Cecil and Eliza (Hedderson) Pilgrim in Noddy Bay. As a young boy he moved with his family to Main Brook. It was here that he spent his life. In 1968 he married Julia Noseworthy and together they raised five children. He worked with Bowaters until it ceased operation in Main Brook. He then went fishing. Whit was man who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed working in the woods, being out in boat, sealing and fishing. On Tuesday night he passed peacefully away at the age of 74 years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Julia, his children Craig (Linda), Kent (Laura), Blaine, Darrell (Selina) and Melanie (Trevor), as well as 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Pearce and Eddie, and his sister Myra and sister-in-law Shirley. He was predeceased by his parents Cecil and Eliza and his brother Garry. He will be sadly missed. The private funeral service was held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm from the Main Brook United Church with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Interment followed. PATEY, GEORGE ALFRED
Passed away into peace on the 25th of December 2014, at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, Mr. George Alfred Patey of Main Brook, at the age of 79 years. Left to mourn are his dear wife of 51 years Juanita, his children Iris, Kathryn (Dennis), Jean (Steve), and Brian (Lisa) as well as his grandchildren Aaron, Marc (Robin), Samantha, Davin, Tylee (Christopher), Zane, Leah (Casey), Aaron, Riley and Great grandchildren Landon, Zander, Richard and Owen. George was predeceased by his son Lindsay, Father James Hedderson and Step mother Emma, Mother Rose Mackie, Step Father James Mackie, Sister Elizabeth and Brother Leonard. We will be sadly missed by all. Visitation was held at the United Church in Main Brook, from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 29th of December with Rev. John McGongile officiating, burial followed the service in the united cemetery. Funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. PILGRIM, BESSIE
Passed peacefully away on the 9th day of September 2013 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Bessie Pilgrim of Main Brook was in her 94th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Leander(Isabella), Stanley(Shirley), Alice(Kenneth), Drucella(Douglas), Stella(Dennis), Herman(Gladys), Elsie(Alwyn), Cassie(Tom), Belinda(Brian), Mervin(Wavey), Melvin(Karen), Triffie(Edward), Margie(Yasin), Raymond(Kim), thirty-eight grandchildren, fifty-nine great grandchildren, and twenty-four great-great grandchildren, special nephew Hayward, two sisters Elizabeth Dorcas and Keziah(Fred), half brothers Fred(Elsie), San(Eliza), Roy(Priscilla), Melvin(Carol), Edgar(Shelia), half sisters Joyce, Velma(Morris) as well as many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Benjamin, granddaughters Roxanne, Rosalie, Bonnie, and Julia, grandson Clayton, Sisters Helen, Vera, and Rebecca, her parents George and Dinah (Allingham) Saunders, and half brother Havner. Visitation was held at the United Church in Main Brook form which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 12th day of September 2013 with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director.
