RICKS, MADONNA VERONICA

May 23, 1946 - April 18, 2022

Passed away on April 18, 2022 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 75 years. Madonna graduated from the Nursing Assistant Program in Corner Brook in 1967 after which she started working at C.S.C.M.H. She retired in March 2012 after over 40 years serving the people of the Northern Peninsula and Southern Labrador. Madonna married the love of her life, Leo on April 22, 1971 and had together they raised two beautiful daughters whom she cherished.

She leaves to mourn, her Husband, Leo Ricks; Daughters, Tamara Reardon (Kirby), Susan Genge (Brandon); Grandchildren, Chris, Leah and Evan; Great-grandchildren, Carter and Amelia Rae; Brothers, Patrick Troy (Gertrude), Edward Troy, Wade Troy (Annie), Tony Troy (Gladys), Paul Troy (Betty); Sisters, Mary Boone (Malcolm), Shirley Parsons (Tommy), Frances Reardon (Martin), Agnes McCarthy (Jerome); Sister-in-law, Marie Troy; Very special friend, Dorothy Patey as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

Madonna is predeceased by her parents, Leo Troy and Bridget Troy (nee Murrin) as well as Brother, Joseph Troy.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will take place on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 2:00 pm from the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in St. Anthony with Fr. George officiating. Inurnment to follow at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Alicia Patey, Funeral Director.

TROY, VINCENT LEO

Passed away on July 23, 2016 at the age of 77 years. Vincent was born in Goose Cove, March 4, 1939 to Rita and Peter Troy. He was a very quiet man that was dearly loved by family and friends. Some of his favourite things were playing cards and playing bingo with his friends at the complex, and going for car rides. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his Daughters Diane and Carol (Paul); Brothers Mike, Felix (Edna), Garry (Flo); Brother-in-law Will Cull; Sisters Minnie, Gertie (Bax); Sister-in-law Leone; Grandchildren Jason, Kirby, Tyler, and Cooper as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Rita and Peter Troy; Sister Ann Cull; Brother Dennis Troy; and brother-in-law Pat Walsh. Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St Anthony beginning Sunday, July 24, 2016 and continuing on Monday, July 25, 2016. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the Roman Catholic Church in Goose Cove with Fr. Vitus Echedo officiating with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Antony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director.

TROY, DENNIS ANTHONY

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 21st day of February 2015. Mr. Dennis Anthony Troy of Goose Cove was in his 68th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 41 years Leona, Sons Darren(Debbie) and Peter(Mindy), Daughter Charmaine Alyward(Edward), Grandchildren Corey, Travis, Kendra, Jamie, Jake, Jenna, Courtney, Eve, Logan, and Addison, Brothers Vince, Mike, Felix(Edna), and Garry(Flo), Sisters Minnie Walsh, Gertie (Bax) Pilgrim,  Mother-in- Law Kathleen Woodford, and Brother-in-law Will Cull as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his Parents Peter and Rita Troy, Sister Ann Cull, Fahter-in-Law James Woodford, and Brother-in-Law Pat Walsh. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony, after which the funeral mass was held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Goose Cove at 2:00pm on the 24th day of February 2015 with Fr. Vitus Echedo officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery in Goose Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.
